No exercises for me for the c but have a group exercise class in 4 weeks with other mums with c's. God help me...the thought of putting on tight exercise pants in public is a frightening thought post baby:) Poor h with the thunder storm tum. Hope you get to nap today Alish and recover after a boo night, so hard to function next day. I have been a nightmare with my DH past two nights...poor bugger, tired and grumpy!
Kimbles, yay for attaching better. I often wonder that too...when will the pain get less??!! Your doing great just your poor nips are victums right now!
Art, erin sounds like she is gaining weight lovely. Hope no one else catches the bug. Thats the catch when 1 does it spreads!!! Fingers crossed.x
Hi everyone I smell poopy pants...again:P, Catch u soon.x
-
Blerrgh! Was supposed to go to the denstist this morning to get a root canal finished, instead I'm off to the doctors as I (TMI warning) have the runs and a generally icky feeling stomach. So over feeling tired and drained and sick. Its hard to tell if my stomach is yuck because I'm not eating enough or if it's something worse. Hate it though. Whinge over :(
-
Kimbles, sucks about the runs. I had a decent bout the other day. I was at playgroup and a lady had just invited me for lunch and then left when it hit me - then I had to go to her house and pretend to be well. She made lunch - battered fish! Any idea how hard it is to eat greasy fish when your guts are rotten and you are trying not to puke? I got enough down to be polite and then left to spend the afternoon with my toilet.
Curly, I would be buying some track pants - this poor body just isn't up for tight pants. I have that apron of skin they talk about on all the fat shows! And I don't think it will get much better because all the stretch marks will stop the skin from shrinking - the best I can hope for is the loose puckered look :(
Alish, I will trade you - looks like E doesn't like it when I eat....CHOCOLATE!!! It isn't fair :crying:
-
So a minor case of gastro for me :(
I didn't realise that stretch marks would stop the skin going back - I'm stuffed, my tummy is entirely composed of stretch marks :(
-
Don't worry ladies I have an old leaather bag where my stomach used to be! After twins and a c section where I was stretched open with a rope (no joke) my skin is horrible! I still had an apron when nine months pg with Alessio!
-
zap - a rope WTF??????????
curly - that class sounds good, im not stepping anywhere near my gym! ill stick to my walks and in a few weeks i might try some sit ups or something.
i think im almost back to my pre pregnancy weight - well in my legs anyway, my stomach is a different story. flab city, its like this little saggy sump, looks terrible - oh to have the washboard stomach i used to have  not
h has been an angel today. slept all day. must be catching up on the sleep she didnt have yesterday/last night/this morning. champ. even i got an hour nap this arvo!
art - no way, i love my choccy!!!
kimbles hope you feel better soon, gastro is ****e
have a lovely weekend ladies!!

I can't remember who said something about waiting till March to apply for baby bonus but over here (WA) you have to claim it withing 14weeks so you might just want to check that.
I wish my baby just wanted to be held all day but no matter what I do, unless he is feeding or sleeping, he just screams. That seriously cannot be normal. I just don't know what to do anymore. It is not good for him to be screaming ~14hrs a day
-
Oh Damprye!
How is he feeding?
Could it be reflux?
When he sleeps does he seem peaceful or irritated?
What is his poo like?
It is really really tough when little ones are like that! I hope you find some answers.
-
Feeding is frustrating atm. He will come off the boob and act like he wants more, even when he has had so much that he ends up with a tummy ache and starts screaming with boob in his mouth and he'll still want to attach but screams. That is when feeding doesn't put him to sleep for more than a couple mins or until I detach him.
He has Zantec (?sp) for suspected reflux.
When he is asleep, he is like a little angel :)
His poos are normal booby fed poos and he does them fine. He is asleep now stirring a lil to poop but now waking and screaming to do so. He poops almost every nappy change
-
Dampyre, do you have a MCHN or Dr you could take him to? It doesn't sound normal to me, there must be something upsetting him :( I couldn't cope with that. It was me applying for baby bonus in March, but I am in NZ - we have the option of getting weekly payments straight away or lump sum at tax time.
Kimbles, depends on the extent of your stretch marks. Thin ones aren't too bad, but when they are a couple of centimeters wide...
Zap, OMG a rope! What on earth was that for? I have always been terrified of C-sections. I would take my 10 pound baby stretching me beyond repair anytime over being cut open.
My big kids are both puking today. It is DD's first ever spew bug, not bad going getting all the way to 2 years old.
ETA, Dampyre, that does sound like reflux. They want to feed and feed because it relieves the burn while they are feeding. I would be heading down to the Dr first chance I got
-
Oh art you poor thing coping with puk! Hope it skips Erin!
The rope was because Ds2 was stuck under my ribs! I had no idea what it was for until I asked dh a week later!
-
The rope would give me nightmares!
I think I should be alright, I had the runs and felt like spewing earlier in the week so I am hoping I have had my turn and Erin will hopefully be saved because of breastfeeding. I can handle spew better than diarrhea so I hope that what ever the kids have stays top side!
Your new avatar is cool! Who does them these days? I still have one from two years ago, it is almost current again lol - just need to add DD1 back in.
-
-
Art- Oh yeah, I keep forgetting you're over there lol. I also make avatars but haven't made my new one yet. I need to wait for the baby bonus so I can go get a new laptop cord. Still waiting for my CHN to get back to me :s
Zap- Nice av :)
-
Damprye, hope T settled down or you get answers from your dr. You must be exhausted!! Wish I knew what it was to give you some advice but I'm learning from you girls!
Zap, rope! I didn't realise that existed for c-s. Im sure your belly is looking better then you think....It's the mirror that has the problem thats all:) (Thats what I tell myself).
Art, hope the poo's have died down. poor bugger that sux especially being at some1 elses house eating fish!
Alish, nice you are feeling you are getting back to your pre bub weight. Are you starving since Bf? I am sooo hungry it's almost unnatural:) Yay Hayden is sleeping lovely for mum. Dosen't a nap help?
Kimbles, Oh no not the dentist!!! Hoping it is done fast and over soon. I am due but put it off cos of the pregnancy...now I have no excuse..gulp.
Tea is getting more cheeky I think:) She is chatting now and smiles are appearing. When did your midwives say you could exercise/gym workouts? I swear one said 12 months to me!!! Thats sounds abit extreme right?
Have a luvly sunday.x
-
Damprye is having trouble with her phone posting to BB, so she asked me to pass this on...:
Gah, my phone is being a right PITA and won't let me post to BB. If possible, could you please reply to Curly for me? If you eat lots of porridge, trail bars, anzac bikkies (basically anything with oats in it) it helps you feel fuller for longer, starves off bad cravings, is good for your waist line and increases your milk supply :)
-
curly - ive gone the opposite way - ive lost my appetite, i probably drink about 2 litres or more of water a day too. so thirsty. poor dh says he is compensating for my not eating cuz he finishes off my dinners lol..
the didnt really mention anything about exercise, but they told me no vaccuming/mopping/housework for 6 weeks. *snort* as if!!
so i wouldnt wanna hear how long you cant exercise for lol
-
My appetite is no where near as bad as when I was pg!! But I also am thirsty all the time! I also have lots my craving for coffee I'll have one if that a day compared to two or three a day whilst pg. From what I remember from my csection they say no house work or exercise for 6 weeks and no ab exercises like sit ups for 6 months. They did give me exercises to do at home similar to pelvic floor but for your abs.
-
Alish, I had almost no appetite after DS was born - had to force myself to eat anything. Probably why I was back to pre-preg weight by 6 weeks with him and kept 10kg after DD.
Wish someone would tell me (in front of DH) that I didn't have to do housework for 6 weeks!
Went for a day trip to a trout farm today. E slept in the car the whole way there and back which was fantastic (my other two were not car sleepers). I had Burger King for lunch and I suspect the raw onion in the burger didn't agree with her - she was a bit spewy and couldn't get to sleep all afternoon because of wind.
-
Up until my tummy bug I was crazy hungry, eating practically round the clock!!
Not sure when I can start exercise again, but then I also don't know when I'm ok to start driving either??
Long weekend so far :( As well as being ill, DH got my bug today, and needs to rest up like mad as he has an interview for a promotion at work on Tuesday morning. Add to that a DD that has been awake for 2 hours, fed for just over an hour of that, and is still wide eyed, looking around and not wanting to sleep. I'm shattered...
-
GAH!!! She just fed again for almost 30 mins, fell dead asleep for all of 2 mins, and is now wide awake and wanting more!!
If this is a growth spurt then I expect she'll be the size of a 2 year old by tomorrow morning!!!
1am - still screaming (me, DH and DD) wide awake (DD and me, unfortunately) and so feeding her yet again. So over it.
5am - DD has maybe slept for 2 hours total since 9.30pm. Not cool.
-
oh kimbles you poor things, i hope she has a settled day and you can get some rest.
have you thought about top up on bottle?
h drinks 30mls at most if she has been lazy on the boob, most of the time its 10mls but at least i know she is full and it gives me a few hours if that makes sense?
its not for everyone though, just a suggestion for a bit of sanity xx
as for the driving - they told me 3 weeks & just as long as you can break quickly. to be honest i was scared getting back in the car again, but its awesome to have some freedom from the house!
art - boo to the onion. hope e is feeling better today!
hhahaha i love housework, its been killing me not doing it, mum has been coming up and doing it, she is just as fussy as me which is good, except she dosent do lines in the carpet :/ haha im a bit of a freak about that! but i love her for it
zap - i have not been doing my excersises lol, have you? mine you have to lie on the bed and lift your bum up off the bed. pretty simple but cbf!
h is getting her arms out of her wraps now! she loves waving them around.
got a 5 hour sleep out of her last night, you beauty! i feel much more sane this morning.
ok heres a bit of a rant -
im sooo angry with mil. she came over on friday when i was at the drs and mum was doing my housework and made a smart comment - oh youre allowed to do the housework, im not (she never asks to do anything, and i dont expect anyone to do my housework!!) the little housework she has done - the washing up - she didnt wash up anything properly, i had to come home from hospital and do it all again!
and that was the day after h had the worst night sleep - well worst night for what she is usually like anyway, so i was buggared, when i got home she was sitting there talking crap on dh's dad then saying dh was like him!! calling him chauvenistic (sp??) and all that junk!
and saying she drove past at 1am after she finished work that morning to check & see if the lights were on, she was going to drop in & feed hayden (does she breastfeed?) i told her that im glad she didnt, she wouldnt have had a nice reception if she did. what a stupid thing to say.
she had the hide to tell brett that she didnt feel welcome & that she was intruding - does she not remember what its like to have a baby & be tired when theyre up crying in the middle of the night?? im not going to be very patient with her when she talks the absolute crap that she does!!!
i went off my brain :/
gahhh! i cant even look at her anymore
-
She finally gave us 3 hours sleep from 5.45am, woke for a feed and slept another 3 hours so I could eat and nap!
I've expressed before, but always seems like so much effort for nothing, as she gutses the bottle, dribbles out half and brings up a lot of the rest so it's a bit too much like hard work!
Hope everyone else is having a good day and enjoying the sunshine!
I have both mothers always offering to help, but if I accept from one, I have to accept both, and they don't do things the same way as me, so it frustrates me too much.
-
Just tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans, they fit and are even a little loose! Woohoo, going shopping!
-
Go Kimbles enjoy your shopping!
-
:wall:Alish how freaking frustrating with your MIL. No wonder you are at your wits ends! Hence newborn baby and cleaning and everything else. Best advice is breathe through it! That or hace some boundaries with her for awhile cos it's not far that you get upset bout anything especially when it is her problem in the end of the day:hug: T gets lazy on the boob and gulps about 40ml of formula for a top up, makes me think my boobs just aren't ever enough! Are you expressing as well?so far can only pump 60mls...my goal is for 150ml!
Kimbles...super jealous nothing fits me....lol even my maternity jeans are snug! But enjoy the freedom and go shopping woohoo!!!:) Hope you got some rest after your night with C. I have to admit I had a total melt down last night. T would not sleep no matter what and DH has the flu so want hold her. I was like F*ck!!! At 2am and just bawled, ran out of the room then took 10 minutes for myself...lol looking back now I was quite dramatic and in the end she was asleep when I got back. Goodluck to your Dh tomorrow!
Art, oh bummer with the onion. E sounded like she enjoyed her outing too:) Housework dosen't exist in my place atm....it's to much effort.
Zap, only exercises I have to do is kegals. I can tell things are tighter, proberly could open a jar lol! Same no driving 6 weeks and nothing bout cleaning unfortunately so really don't have an excuse.
Thanks Damprye for the ideas on keeping me full (dam just ate a pie saying that)....so tired that it feels so much easier just to grab sweets and coffee! Bad Krystal:)
-
Kimbles, yay for fitting the pre-preg clothes! My maternity pants are too loose but I am still too fat for my old clothes. Need to go shopping desperately but I am still losing a kilo every few days so there isn't much point atm Hope you have a better night with C tonight.
Alish, what do you mean by lines in the carpet? Bummer about the mil. Weird that she was going to drop by at such an ungodly hour! Perhaps instead of feeling unwelcome she should take the hint and leave when people start getting cranky - it is nice for people to visit but sometimes you just can't be arsed!
Looks like Erin has caught the vomit bug. She has only had two spews ever until today - she has had three big ones this afternoon, can't keep anything down. I gave her a short feed and she went to sleep so hopefully that stays in. She looks really sad :( Poor thing. I have never had a sick little baby before.
-
art - my carpet when you vacuum it shows the lines of the vacuum - so i have a certain way i vacuum so the lines look nice haha. sad but its how i roll!
poor e - i hope she is feeling better today. i couldnt imagine a spewy newborn.
curly - i express to empty after each feed, i get about 10 - 20mls max out of each boob put together after the feed. so by the time i express around 730 - 8 i have around 40 mls, so i get about 40-50 mls at that express, then she has an 80-90 ml bottle for the 9pm feed and has a formula bottle also.
-
Teala has a cold:( Last night she was so unsettled and I was up all night then this morning kinda a hacking cough, feeding less and stuffed nose sounds. Is there anything I can do mums? I can't drive so can't go to the Gp today. My poor little girl.....
Art, hope erin gets better soon. Is there much you can do for that? Poor lil bunny. Its horrible to see them so miserable.
Alish, It is satisfying when the carpet is looking lovely! This sounds stupid but I have been expressing before hand, thinking I will get a maximum load of milk in my next feed to discover it is empty, so think I will follow your lead and express after T is done. Such a battlefield this Bf buisness!
Hi everyone.x
-
Curly - sorry T isn't well :( it's no fun when they're so little and helpless. C has had a snuffly nose for awhile, and is a snorter when she is waking up or going to sleep. Can you get someone to go to the chemist and get a saline nose spray or drops, and a little sucker to try and get the snot out. Fess make a Little noses product. Hope she's better soon.
-
Art I hope Erin is doing better today
Curly the fess products are great and I put a vaporizer on at night if Alessio is a little stuffy. He also has the sniffles!
Hope everyone else is doing well.
-
Thanks ladies for the suggestions, last night was something but she seems to be coming good. Funny thing is she is handling it better then Pete (man flu).lol.
Hope everyone is good.x
-
Kimbles- I know it sounds odd but let her sniff up some milk. It has worked wonders on T.
Alish- How frustrating. I can't handle people doing things a different way to me in my house, even if my way does take longer, the results are better.
Art- Oh a hope your lil one is feeling better and isn't still spewy
Curly- I eat like a horse atm.. I was also eating pie that day haha. Cos I CBFd making porridge, I have the microwavable ones. fell in love with them while I was pregnant and am totally addicted now
Zap- How are you going?
AFM- I have my laptop back up and running! :hoorah: So totally stoked that I'm on there even though bub is asleep lol. My how the reply section has changed, will have to check the site out better another day though. We finally have sleep worked out so that bub is sleeping 5hrs solid which I never thought was going to happen. He cluster feeds beforehand and still feeds 2hrly through the day but I'm feeling much better for it :) I'm starting to feel like I can finally start pulling things together. How is everyone else going with feeds and sleep? Oh and my goodness, I heard this one shart today after changing DS2... it didn't sound to bad but (TMI) when I changed him it was a heck of a lot worse than I ever imagined, he had even managed to get poop in his armpit  Oh I do love him to bits :D
-
curly - how is the family feeling today?
art - how are you guys? is e feeling better?
zap - your little man still sleeping through?
kimbles - how are you guys?
sheree - hope you are feeling well & ruby is good xx
damprye - yay for the sleeps, i bet you feel more sane.
im still feeding 4 hourly, she wakes about half an hour before she is due for a feed through the day, but she has been a bit of a crap sleeper through the night, waking way before she is due, im not sure if its a growth spurt or what. so im waking around 1 & 5am, but today it was 12.15am & 4 am :/. but i think its wind, she is really twitchy & rumbly (does that make sense)
its the lack of sleep i cant handle. i used to be a big sleeper.
im so hating bfeeding. the thought of her on my nipple makes me sick. i dread every feed. so im going to finish off my motilium tablets and call it a day i think. its no good for her if im stressed.
-
Alish- Yeah I'm a big sleeper too. It was horrible when we weren't sleeping. I get a REAL short fuse. On the BFing, I went through a stage where I could not handle T on the boob, I just felt like running away when he would start looking for a feed and I'd just start crying. I expressed and gave him the bottle for most feeds for a while there. I think that was during a growth spurt and he was attached to me for hours on end, literally :s I actually messaged my MW friend to ask her what formula is best cos I was just going to give up entirely. It has not long gotten better but it did. I'll encourage you to keep BFing but ultimately you have to do what is best for your family so I will support your decision either way :)
-
Alish, BF is really the easier option later on, but if it is making you stressed and upset then give it away - you are right, stressed mummy is no good for bub. This a special time in your life that you want to enjoy, not be filled with dread every time she wakes
On the sleep and feed front - sleep wise E is usually doing a 3-4 hour nap in the morning, about 2-3 hours in the evening and a few short naps in between. Overnight she is waking once or twice for a feed. I bring her into my bed after the first wakeup so I don't keep track very well after that. I am an old pro at sleep deprivation - DS woke every single hour for over 5 months when he was little, and DD did it for a few months as well. After that sort of zombiefest a few wake ups don't bother me!
Feeding , she is going really well. She is a very quick feeder like the other two - a long feed would be less than 10 minutes. I have no idea how often she is feeding though, just whenever she wants.
Fingers crossed the spew bug is over. I have done so much extra washing the last few days!! I had to limit Erin's feeds to just a minute or two or she would chuck it all back up but she seems to be better today.
-
Alish I hated bf the first time and did it the second time but was happy when I hit the 12 month mark and weaned. This time I am really enjoying it. You may find it more easier/enjoyable next time round. Either way it sounds like you have done a great job so far and what ever decision you make YOU and bubba need to be happy with it. Xo
-
ive decided to leave bb, ill catch you all on facebook!
-
Hey gals,
Thanks the fam is doing great now, boo to the dam colds. But the fess products are awesome!
Damprye lol on little one pooping up to his armpit:) It travels thats forsure. Yay for new laptop, enjoy. Now I feel like oats mmmm.
Art, E sounds like a good lil sleeper. I suppose your right sleep deprivation grows on you!:P
I think if your happy to formula feed Alish, go for it hun. Honestly I would kiss the maker of formula personally cos Bf is super stressful and though I am still trying to Bf...I add a formula in here and there for bubs and my sanity, so you are doing awesome mumma. No more BB?
Soz real quick one, Tea is freaking out and it's bath time so I'm on adrenaline:).
Have a lovely night.x
-
Curly- Glad to hear everyone is doing better
Alish- See you on FB
Art- I hope the spew bug is finished for you too
ARM- LOL I picked bub up cos I thought he was crying but he has the biggest cheekiest grin and giggling his arse off! It is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. He is now 5.294kgs and 58cm @ 7w1d :)
