Teala has a cold:( Last night she was so unsettled and I was up all night then this morning kinda a hacking cough, feeding less and stuffed nose sounds. Is there anything I can do mums? I can't drive so can't go to the Gp today. My poor little girl.....
Art, hope erin gets better soon. Is there much you can do for that? Poor lil bunny. Its horrible to see them so miserable.
Alish, It is satisfying when the carpet is looking lovely! This sounds stupid but I have been expressing before hand, thinking I will get a maximum load of milk in my next feed to discover it is empty, so think I will follow your lead and express after T is done. Such a battlefield this Bf buisness!
Hi everyone.x
-
Curly - sorry T isn't well :( it's no fun when they're so little and helpless. C has had a snuffly nose for awhile, and is a snorter when she is waking up or going to sleep. Can you get someone to go to the chemist and get a saline nose spray or drops, and a little sucker to try and get the snot out. Fess make a Little noses product. Hope she's better soon.
-
Art I hope Erin is doing better today
Curly the fess products are great and I put a vaporizer on at night if Alessio is a little stuffy. He also has the sniffles!
Hope everyone else is doing well.
-
Thanks ladies for the suggestions, last night was something but she seems to be coming good. Funny thing is she is handling it better then Pete (man flu).lol.
Hope everyone is good.x
-
Kimbles- I know it sounds odd but let her sniff up some milk. It has worked wonders on T.
Alish- How frustrating. I can't handle people doing things a different way to me in my house, even if my way does take longer, the results are better.
Art- Oh a hope your lil one is feeling better and isn't still spewy
Curly- I eat like a horse atm.. I was also eating pie that day haha. Cos I CBFd making porridge, I have the microwavable ones. fell in love with them while I was pregnant and am totally addicted now
Zap- How are you going?
AFM- I have my laptop back up and running! :hoorah: So totally stoked that I'm on there even though bub is asleep lol. My how the reply section has changed, will have to check the site out better another day though. We finally have sleep worked out so that bub is sleeping 5hrs solid which I never thought was going to happen. He cluster feeds beforehand and still feeds 2hrly through the day but I'm feeling much better for it :) I'm starting to feel like I can finally start pulling things together. How is everyone else going with feeds and sleep? Oh and my goodness, I heard this one shart today after changing DS2... it didn't sound to bad but (TMI) when I changed him it was a heck of a lot worse than I ever imagined, he had even managed to get poop in his armpit  Oh I do love him to bits :D
-
curly - how is the family feeling today?
art - how are you guys? is e feeling better?
zap - your little man still sleeping through?
kimbles - how are you guys?
sheree - hope you are feeling well & ruby is good xx
damprye - yay for the sleeps, i bet you feel more sane.
im still feeding 4 hourly, she wakes about half an hour before she is due for a feed through the day, but she has been a bit of a crap sleeper through the night, waking way before she is due, im not sure if its a growth spurt or what. so im waking around 1 & 5am, but today it was 12.15am & 4 am :/. but i think its wind, she is really twitchy & rumbly (does that make sense)
its the lack of sleep i cant handle. i used to be a big sleeper.
im so hating bfeeding. the thought of her on my nipple makes me sick. i dread every feed. so im going to finish off my motilium tablets and call it a day i think. its no good for her if im stressed.
-
Alish- Yeah I'm a big sleeper too. It was horrible when we weren't sleeping. I get a REAL short fuse. On the BFing, I went through a stage where I could not handle T on the boob, I just felt like running away when he would start looking for a feed and I'd just start crying. I expressed and gave him the bottle for most feeds for a while there. I think that was during a growth spurt and he was attached to me for hours on end, literally :s I actually messaged my MW friend to ask her what formula is best cos I was just going to give up entirely. It has not long gotten better but it did. I'll encourage you to keep BFing but ultimately you have to do what is best for your family so I will support your decision either way :)
-
Alish, BF is really the easier option later on, but if it is making you stressed and upset then give it away - you are right, stressed mummy is no good for bub. This a special time in your life that you want to enjoy, not be filled with dread every time she wakes
On the sleep and feed front - sleep wise E is usually doing a 3-4 hour nap in the morning, about 2-3 hours in the evening and a few short naps in between. Overnight she is waking once or twice for a feed. I bring her into my bed after the first wakeup so I don't keep track very well after that. I am an old pro at sleep deprivation - DS woke every single hour for over 5 months when he was little, and DD did it for a few months as well. After that sort of zombiefest a few wake ups don't bother me!
Feeding , she is going really well. She is a very quick feeder like the other two - a long feed would be less than 10 minutes. I have no idea how often she is feeding though, just whenever she wants.
Fingers crossed the spew bug is over. I have done so much extra washing the last few days!! I had to limit Erin's feeds to just a minute or two or she would chuck it all back up but she seems to be better today.
-
Alish I hated bf the first time and did it the second time but was happy when I hit the 12 month mark and weaned. This time I am really enjoying it. You may find it more easier/enjoyable next time round. Either way it sounds like you have done a great job so far and what ever decision you make YOU and bubba need to be happy with it. Xo

ive decided to leave bb, ill catch you all on facebook!
-
Hey gals,
Thanks the fam is doing great now, boo to the dam colds. But the fess products are awesome!
Damprye lol on little one pooping up to his armpit:) It travels thats forsure. Yay for new laptop, enjoy. Now I feel like oats mmmm.
Art, E sounds like a good lil sleeper. I suppose your right sleep deprivation grows on you!:P
I think if your happy to formula feed Alish, go for it hun. Honestly I would kiss the maker of formula personally cos Bf is super stressful and though I am still trying to Bf...I add a formula in here and there for bubs and my sanity, so you are doing awesome mumma. No more BB?
Soz real quick one, Tea is freaking out and it's bath time so I'm on adrenaline:).
Have a lovely night.x
-
Curly- Glad to hear everyone is doing better
Alish- See you on FB
Art- I hope the spew bug is finished for you too
ARM- LOL I picked bub up cos I thought he was crying but he has the biggest cheekiest grin and giggling his arse off! It is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. He is now 5.294kgs and 58cm @ 7w1d :)
-
I'm already going batty tonight. Bub is permanently attached to my boob and I just want to put him down and go to bed. So don't what to get back to where we were :(
-
Damprye, I hate those nights....Its like they almost go into a feeding frenzy!
-
He drives me bonkers and then just suddenly falls asleep lol. He has been feeding every hour today. Time to feed him again and perhaps bottle top up if he still wont settle
-
Hope everyone has been doing well.
Damprye - I can only imagine how frustrating hourly feeds must be - I've had 2 hourly feeds for a day here or there, and it just about did my head in.
Curly - hope T and DH are better. Are you managing to look after yourself and stay healthy while looking after the family?
Art, Zap, Jess & Alish - hope you're all enjoying mummydom still.
Art - are your kids over the vom bug yet?
AFM - we had a party for DH this past weekend, as he turns 30 this Wednesday, and DD was such an angel. Let herself be passed around and cuddled and didn't cry once. Bless! DH goes back to work on Thursday, after 5 & 1/2 weeks off, so will be interesting to see how I cope with DD on my own. Waiting to hear from DH's work today as last week he was interviewed for a promotion. Fingers crossed!
I am off for another glucose tolerance test tomorrow (the 2 hour fasting one) to see if my GD has resolved itself. Wish me luck!
Took DD to get weighed last Friday, she clocked in at 4415g, so is just over 1.1kg heavier than her birth weight - an average gain of 220g a week. Not bad for 5 weeks, and only 6 BFs a day!
-
All over the spew bug thank goodness.
Just had a midwife visit, E is up to 4.9kg and 57cm at 4 weeks. I am sure she would have cracked the 5kg mark if not for the three days of chucking up all her feeds.
Just same old here.
Kimbles, good luck for the GTT. I was on a heap of insulin with DS and still came up roses afterwards so I am sure you will be fine.
Dampyre, that sounds adorable!!

DH got his promotion! Happy dances all round!!! :D
