Ooooh thats exciting Oz, I hope this baby comes soon I am worried about net access in Bali! :(

MP - I know what you mean, I get so frustrated with M sometimes too & then she does something nice/funny & I feel guilty! Also can I ask you a Bali question, last time you guys went I remember you took N, how did you bathe him? I know they say dont 'drink' the tap water so this worries me that I could be bathing her and she might get some in her mouth. Last thing I want is her to be sick, how did you avoid this?

Jaz - M is the same, have to wear her out first if I want her to sleep!

Off to the Black Eyed Peas concert tonight with hubby & sister, should be a fun night!

Oz, if you have the bub tomorrow it will have 11-10-09 for a birthday (I am overly impressed with cool birthdates lol). That is really cool that Logan spells his name, W is nowhere near writing yet.

MD, bummer about menopause! How do you know (if you don't mind me asking)?

Ange, that is so funny that Sas 'eats' your boobs. It is handy when they can tell you what they want/need. We forgot to feed W breakfast this morning and the poor boy came up to me at about 10am and said in a sad voice "I've got no energy" lol (because we tell him that he will get energy from the food he eats)

Ginger, have another baby!! How adorable would a little girl with J's hair be? I would like another.

Trill, sounds like you have been very busy. Don't bother cleaning the house! Have a nice bath or crack open some wine/chocolate!

PAP, we have had a couple of terrible nights with W - the other day when I let him have a day nap he was up and tantruming half the night until DH got up with him for the day at 3am! So no more day naps here, it just creates a disaster at night.

Jazah, how are things going with J? You were having a few issues a while ago, has it calmed down a bit? BTW, I thought the photo thing was lovely! - probably the nicest thing anyone has done for me for a long time.

Cally, I wish we had take aways here so DH could bring home tea when I couldn't be bothered. The only option is fish and chips though, and they are expensive and poor quality in this town.

I am going out for dinner with some mothers group ladies on Monday. It will be the first time I have been out for tea and not had to be home for W's bedtime. I am really looking forward to it.

MD or anyone that knows, what is Montessori about? I googled it but couldn't really figure out what made it different to normal. I am quite curious though.

This is a really cool age. W says heaps of cute things. He has started spelling too - except to my eternal amusement he spells dad d.a.g lol

it has been a couple of days so thought to quickly jump in so that i can keep subscribed to the thread!

Arte: ooooh only smelly bad fish and chips? that does kinda suck...have to say that since moving to melb next to lygon st we have been spoilt for choice. but still i reckon take away is getting way too expensive these days. many places now have a minimum spend price.

Jaz: yeah, i have found that on the days where there isnt much for leila in it she has a worse sleep pattern. i find that it is harder to get her asleep at night...like tonight for example ROFL...we have been driving way too much in the last couple of days.

sherie: oooh that does sound like a fun day though. those are the days that build happy memories!

AFM: have to keep it quick as internet is dial up and cant keep the italians without their telecommunications LOL!
spent the day in siena yesterday. very lovely, ate like a pig, loved it! then we went to this abbey which is an archaelogical site and had a ball running around with leila. such a powerful place (built in the early 1200s). THEN we went and saw the SWORD IN THE STONE ala king arthur! SOOOO COOL.
today was just spent with some family beginning our goodbyes. we leave bella italia on friday but leave Pisa the day before, so not long to go now! ooooh do look forward to going home...and packing an entire house and family to move to a new house. egad.

I had been saying *meh* to the housework for quite a while and I think DH was starting to notice it ROFL. So I did the bathroom, toilet, got the girls to help me tidy the loungeroom and vacuumed all the floors. Last night I also folded all the socks and jocks and ironed DH's work shirts.

dh is 100% definite no, i'm 50%.....so i'm not sure whether it's worth pushing him over and creating an 'issue' iykwim? i guess if i was 100% yes then it would be worth pushing for. he thinks i should be happy with what i've got. all we ever wanted was 2 little boys and they're soooo beautiful and more amazing than i ever even imagined. does the yearning for another ever go away or is it something that you just accept is part of being a mother?
dh has bribed me by saying that we can buy the boys a puppy next year......i've been eyeing off a couple of spoodles....i would definitely get a girl one so that i wasn;'t the only lady in the house

arte- i am interested in montessori too but i can't really work out if it's worth it or not, as there is a kinder just opened near us that is montessori.

trill- good work on the housework. wanna come and do mine now? :lol:

clare- now that you've been to sienna i think you should call your possible future dd Sienna :lol:

anyways, must be off i guess......how is everyone else going with day sleeps? lewis is still needing one everyday. what age do most kids drop theirs?

Hey G! I think you have to work out whether you love the idea of another baby or the reality of another baby. For me, I am still totally in love with the idea of another one, but definitely not the reality. As time goes on it gets easier to deal with, but never goes away fully and I'm starting to think that it's normal to feel like that.

As for day sleeps, Alister has gone back to having one 5 days out of 7 and will sleep up to 3hrs! Some kids will have dropped it by now and other will still have one for a long time yet. From memory the girls had dropped theirs by about 2.5yrs-ish and Lindsay was well over 3, probably closer to 4 because I remember that when I had Paige I could get all 3 of them to have a sleep at the same time most of the time and thinking it was awesome because I could sleep and we did that for several months.

yeah i think i might be in love with the idea of another baby....but i don't think i really really want one. i just look at jimmy sometimes and feel sad cos he's growing so quickly. he's sitting up now and sits at a highchair at the table with us and just looks so big...but i guess the nice part about that is that you move onto another stage and that stage is great too iykwim?
i think i'm coming around more to the puppy idea LOL
i wouyld love to get the boys in sync in having a long arvo sleep. that would be awesome. lewis really seems to still need that sleep, or he just falls asleep on the floor at about 4pm.

Just quickly wanted to let you know I wont be around much as mum is here now. Send me all the labour vibes you can muster.

Ginger, day sleeps here are officially over. He will sometimes have a small kipper on the couch but I won't put him to bed anymore because it ruins night sleeping. I think I am the same about a third baby - I hate to think that A might be the last and she is getting so big already but the day to day grind with 3 kids... Doesn't help that DH is a fence sitter too, if I said I wanted another he would agree.

Clare, good luck with the IL's for the rest of the week. Does your DH know they are a bit mental?

We went to the river for a few hours today, DH showed W how to fish and then they spent ages looking for bugs under rocks. We are now the proud owners of a bunch of worms and some scary looking centipede things lol. He had a great time.

Hi Ladies...just on checking on the goss.
I hosted a double baby shower today so am pooped! Doesn't help having 3 nights of really restless crappy sleep (nothing major just thoughts thru my head keeping me awake)
The baby shower was for the creators of my infamous bday cake (as seen on our facebook group) and was a hoot. I'll pop a few photos up on our group for looksies...the highlight was definately the c/s cake that we made for one of the girls :lol:
Dh and I ended up having a decent chat before he left and I spelt out a few things to him and told him that we definately need to continue working on things and visiting the counseller. I don't want us to fall back into the same old pattern of not getting anywhere.
So anyhoo...off to bed where hopefully sleep will grab me and drag me under its powerful hold for a good solid 8 hours sleep.

G- i think you've got one more in you. 3 little boys was my dream, given i'm not going to have that, i think you should! ;) We had a 2-3 hour day sleep every day and i will try and keep it up for as long as possible.

Clare- Did you pull the sword from the stone????? Still jealous of your travels, i didn't like Pizza much until i had real pizza in Naples. Food is sooo good over there!

MM- I don't think you can really avoid the whole drinking a little water in the bath, but maybe give her a drink bottle of good water while she's in there to stop her actively drinking it......

Trill- So how many years before my girls help with housework???? Dreaming of that day. trip to the mine looks cool!

Arte- we went fishing down the river last night too! no fish though.

Lu is still crook, no temp, but ten minutes after we put her to bed, she cried and and then proceeded to vomit everywhere. She seemed fine afterwards, so hopefully it was a one off. Will quarantine her for a few days though. Sas is full on crawling now and slept 10 hours last night with just a re-wrap in between. About time i say!!! This mumma needs some sleep.

Ange, Yay for sleep! We had to wait two years, but it is finally happening for us too (well, it is still 50/50 but miles better than what we have had). W has done the random vomit a few times and then been fine afterwards. He did it the morning after I had Amelia, I was dreading having a plauge in our house with her so little but it didn't eventuate into anything.

Oops, better go. William is wandering the house calling out "Where is mum?" lol

Hi all, just popping in to celebrate a couple of things - the ILs drove their caravan out this morning :dance: and also the Menopause might have been a false alert :clap:. OK well I could be deluding myself because AF arrived and she's a shadow of her former self, but any sign that I still have oestrogen kicking around is a good one.

Arte - hmmm, did a big posteroo about Montessori a while back, did you see that? Will go looking to see if I wrote anythign worth while when I get a bit more time.

Ginger, yeah a dog is always a good substitute for another child ROFL. I nearly got seduced into a new round of pet ownership last week, there was a whole litter of "beaglepoos" (I think that should read "poogle" - beagleXpoodle - awwwww they was so CUTE!!! Little girls too). Pity I have an ethical stance against buying dogs and cats in pet shops!

Heading out for a massage shortly. Aaaah can't wait for the soooo goood bliss feeling.

MD, I saw your post in here about Montessori, is that the one? - that is what got me interested. I should look in the education forum, I am sure there must be something there. Remember that your body has been knocked around a bit by all the chemo drugs, it might take a few months for AF to return to her former glory. I also have a stance against pet shop pets - puppy farmers with no actual interest in the wellbeing of the pups.

That reminds me - I was talking to mum the other day and she mentioned they are getting ANOTHER puppy early next year! OMFlipping Gosh! That will take them up to 11. Yes, 11 dogs.
