Hope the surgery went well Trill xx
Cally, hope your travel and appointment went well. Have you had a chance to see the new baby yet?
Took all three kids out to a tourist attraction by myself - FAIL!! It was pouring with rain, E wouldn't stay in the pram so I was carrying her, pushing an empty pram, W was disappointed with the attraction (after raving about it) so he lost it and cried and screamed around the second half. A was a good girl :)
Lesson learned though, DH has some time off tomorrow so he is coming with us to the zoo. We are going to Hell's Gate on Friday when he can come too - a small kid fell in the mud and died from burns last year so I won't even attempt to take all mine by myself.
Amelia just had a over-tired meltdown in a cafe and some cranky old man walked past and told me she needed to be sedated!! Stupid old git. I apologized to the two couples sitting near me when we left and they were super nice though :)
Hey trill, hoping the operation has gone well! that just all of a sudden seemed to come up! far out!
Arte: ahhh sounds like it was 'one of those' days lol. you are one brave woman! can't believe the nerve of that old dude. what a moron. hope you flipped him the bird...even telepathically
Cally: hope that the appt for K has some answers. and wowsers on all your driving lately!
Cass, bummer about the nausea :( It is just rotten. I hope it doesn't last too long for you.
A new baby! How exciting! All pink and soft and cuddly! I would have another if I could get an Erin baby again - that girl is just like a burst of sunshine :) She is always always happy, even when she is sick, and even if she is having the odd grumble she will stop and smile at me. She is not planning to be a baby for long though. She is just over 6 months and can walk holding one hand and has started slowly cruising the furniture here at the motel (our couch is too high). She just adores the big kids and is desperate to play with them.
No grommets needed - a dose of antibiotics has cleared up her ears and apparently they look good and her hearing is back up into the normal range. It was recommended that we get another hearing test after winter to check that nothing establishes itself in there during that season.
Arte - we saw my nephew on Saturday. Only 15 minutes though, he was cranky and wanting something to eat so we left them to it. Then visiting hours clashed with other activities. Erin does sound like a gorgeous little thing. I was very impressed with that video of her!
video? theres a video? gah, i gotta get more jiggy with FB!
Cally: that is great about Ks hearing test. big relief no doubt!
Cally, that is great that she doesn't need surgery! Will her speech clear up by itself now or do you have to go to a speechie?
Cass, don't feel obligated to watch the vid - I feel like I over-FB but the IL's love seeing pics.
Trill, hope P is recovering alright xx
Arte - we have been going to a speechie, I think we have done 3 out of the 6 appts we are entitled to. Will see how she goes, I haven't noticed anything in particular being a dramatic improvement over the last 3 weeks since the antibiotics so I'm not sure.
P's surgery went well. She did it a bit tough afterwards though and couldn't keep anything down because of the vomiting. it was truly awful seeing her go under the GA though - I never want to have to see that ever again! When L had one to fix his broken arm they didn't let me stay in there for when they actually put him under, but with P they did and it was horrible :( She didn't react to it, but just the way her body was twitching and fighting it was very hard. Apparently it was all normal, and they told me it would happen but it still wasn't nice to watch. Her heart rate shot up to 170 and the machines are going ping and I thought that something must have been wrong for it to beat that fast but they said it was fine. She's going well now though. Still not eating much but she's eating what she feels like eating so I'm happy with that. I spoiled her and brought a heap of things for her to keep herself amused while she's at home.
I sent A to preschool on the school bus today too! he's finally decided that he wants to go in on the bus now so I filled in the form last week and he went in today. He wasn't happy at having to be woken up and made to get dressed LOL, but he beat the other two kids onto the bus and sat himself down right up the front where he could talk the driver's ear off  He even promised me he wouldn't swear on the bus because Brian (the driver) would kick him off. I will still pick him up in the afternoons though. So now I feel like I've had an apendage cut off because it's weird that he's not here. But it's great that it saves me time in the morning and I don't have to be in town so early now.
Trill, that is great that A is taking the bus. LOL at him promising not to swear! Hope P is feeling better now. How long does she have off school?
Back from our holiday, thanks DH company lol. We got around a fair few tourist things.
Arte, So the holiday ended well? What sights did you see?
She needs to have at least 2 weeks off, but I will keep her home this week, then send her the following week which is the last week of school and a short week anyway because of Good Friday. She has a post-op appt with her Dr on the thursday as well so it will only be 3 days at school for her and then holidays which works out nicely. School photos are on this Wednesday though, so I will take her in for those and then bring her home again.
When I picked up A from preschool that afternoon he was raving about the bus and can't wait to go back on it again. E told me that he talked the entire way and they weren't even at the end of our lane and he said "Brian, I promise I wont swear on the bus" she said it was so funny.
Hello girls!
So glad that the surgery is over for P. i had no idea that we fight anaesthesia so much :o that would freak me out too! man, they coulda warned ya lol.
Sooo cool that Mr A is taking the school bus! he sounds just awesome! love him telling Brian the lay of the land
Arte: ooh yeah! how did the holiday go??? did the kids have a blast?
Cally: :crossfingers: that miss K no longer needs the other therapies now that the ABs seem to have done the trick  do you notice any lag in her speech? i know that one of the boys in our MG had a quick turnaround with a few sessions post his ear issues.
MD: GUESS WHAT???!!!!!!! We saw some filming across the road from the cafe we were at, and on the way home we had to cross the road to get back and we got pulled over by the crew from........OWN!!!!!!! they asked us if they could take pictures and videos of the girls hahahahaha! SOOOOO awesome! we had to sign a bunch of release forms etc., but yeah, Miss L totally won the day  Marta was a bit confused lol. at first i was like "nahhhh, girls too tired" (before i noticed the oprah symbols lol) and the girl and guy were like, "aw, c'mon, do it for Oprah". so yeah, watch this space lol. i even got the crew to learn some aussie vernacular to get Leila in the zone hahaha.
Wow, cool Cass!!!
No ****ing way Cass!!! Did you tell them what hard core Opes fans we are?
Cass, that is super exciting!
The holiday went well, the weather was patchy but not too bad for the rest of the week. DH had a couple of mornings off to go to the big ticket things like the lion park and we went to a thermal park on the way home.
I think MD needs a bex and a lie down after that news Cass
Cass, I was worried there for a bit because he was flat out refusing to go on it. But all of a sudden he decided he wanted to do it. Makes my life so much easier.
Cally, are you going to use the rest of the speechie appointments? Fingers crossed her ears stay clear too. When are you going to see your sister and bubs again?
On the baby front, we're all waiting for DH's sister to have her baby. She was due on Wednesday and she is devastated she hasn't had it yet. She was 2 days early with her first and she thought she would be early again. She is already having anxiety problems again so her frame of mind is just terrible. I had a big chat with her the other afternoon and tried to give her suggestions with how to cope and things she can try to bring things on, but I just don't think she's in the right headspace to go into labour kwim? MIL is up there for the duration though, so she could be there for another 2wks just sitting around waiting because SIL wants her there JIC she goes into labour because MIL is the only one she trusts to have her DS but MIL is completely over it and just wishes she would get the show on the road LOL.
Yeah, we'll do the rest of the speechie appointments, don't want to bail on them (she really enjoys them) and I want to make sure I can notice a difference too - which I can't yet.
We're supposed to be meeting the family halfway this weekend for a picnic for Dad's 70th so should see bub again then. Then spend some of the holidays up there again.
Trill - poor MIL, just hanging around like that.
waiting for a baby is like a watched pot that never boils  I hope that your SIL can keep it together. so hard otherwise.
MD: oh man, i was pretty excited once i worked out who they were lol!!!! i hope that they use her pics!!!
Cally: mwah! more newborn cuddles!
AFM: leila is in a bit of a funk as her bestie here leaves for germany in a few days :( she is really down about it as i think it is a reminder that we are far away from home IYKWIM. that said, i am also more than ready to leave the US of A. ready for some realy pizza and real food in italy. cant believe i have to wait another 2 months waaaahhhh! (yeah, i know, i have to quit my whinging hahaha).
been hit so so hard with the m/s it aint funny. i am just not functioning. never had this so bad before :( total pity party. and DEFINITELY my last pregnancy lol. i told DH that he can get the snip any time he wants now
