Hi everyone, I am so sorry I haven't been on. I am used to just conversing with the ladies on fb. How are you all?

We are good here. A has now cut 6 teeth, well I would say officially 5. It looked like all top four were coming at once but the left one came, then middle left and now middle right. We have had a difficult cpl of months sleep wise, waking up a lot overnight and many bleary eyed days, but last week a friend made a suggestion and now I do the same thing every night at the exact same time instead of just going with it. She is mix fed now with a bottle at night, so we have tea, bath and then bed by 8-8:30.

Hi ladies

Its been a long time since I've been on myself but I have been reading when you ladies post.

I have joined the workforce again and am slowly adjusting to being back. I'm only doing 3 days at the moment and one of those from home so it makes it easier the hard part will come in a few months when I go back full time. G is growing so quickly and I miss her s much when I'm at work she now has 6 teeth and isn't to far off walking I think. So far she walks sideways across the couch coffee tables etc and when she can she moves from one piece of furniture to the other. She is very settled in daycare and enjoys the other children she only goes two days a week and her parents pick her up in the afternoon so she has a great little routine going. We christening her a few weeks ago and now I'm onto planning her 1st birthday cant believe how quickly that's coming around. Any ideas what you girls might be doing for 1st birthdays?

Anyway best I get back onto doing my work..the more I get done here the less I have to do at home

DDB – glat that the routine is working well for you.

Terry – Being back at work sucks doesn’t it? It breaks my heart the three days I have to leave my two. I am suppose to be going back full time in September, but I am going to speak to DH and am hoping I can put it off for another 6 months.

Sounds like little G is up and getting around. Try putting concrete on her feet might slow her down ;) A is off and going too. She’ll walk around with just one hand held now. She’s growing up way too quickly. I really wish I could slow her down.

We haven’t started planning A’s 1st yet, but that is simple because we are waiting to get DS’s 3rd done before me move on to hers. His is in just a couple weeks and then we’ll have to decide what to do for her. We’ll probably just have close friends and family, with some sort of special cake. I have sort of been thinking butterflies, but have yet to discuss it with DH yet.

A still only has two teeth (did I mention the teeth before??) she’s had them for about a month and a half I think. Her top don’t look even close to coming through yet, but it looks like her bottom laterals might be on their way through….???

Another one who has been slack with posting here cause I'm normally on fb! Can you believe we're now around the 9 month mark?! I still feel like I should have a newborn and instead I have a little person who I'm now having to chase after! Arya is doing really well, crawling everywhere and pulling herself up on everything. She's walking quite well if we hold her hands and is able to stand for a few seconds without holding anything. Am I bad for wanting to push her over when she does it? ;) She's still mostly a booby girl and only has a small amount in the way of solids, but she's already letting us know she loves her meat just like her Daddy. We've got 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom) and there's a couple more desperately trying to poke through. Arya is saying Dad, woah, and mum...I'm sure there's more words in there but I'm yet to decipher them) and she has the cutest way of waving. DF had 13 weeks off work and we only ended up being home for 11 days! We went to Sydney to visit my family, then to Perth for Oz Comic Con, then back to Adelaide (staying in the city for Oz Comic Con), then back to Sydney for another visit, then to SE Asia for almost 6 weeks (where I got dengue fever - not fun, let me tell you) then back to Sydney to pick up the car we bought from my Dad. We're insane!

Hope everyone is well and I know I keep saying it but I really will try to get on here more often!

AFU-A her been refusing breast. She has slowly been doing it since she started solids really. I weight her yesterday and she is now 8.5 kg so up to the 50th percentile from 5th born. She loves her food and seems okay with formula. I am okay with it because she did it herself and I didn't just take it away from her IYKWIM.
She is getting around everywhere crawling. She is so determined, if she can't reach something one way she will go at it another way, sneaky sneaky. We have set up a baby gate to keep her from the hallway and the laundry where our cats stuff is. She claps, waves and says mum, dad, bub, yea, yay and ta. It's so weird, I had a tiny little newborn and now it's like she's a little person lol.
1st bday party is sorted. We are kind of having an elmo theme. We are having an elmo cake but I don't think I will be getting elmo cups and everything.

Hi! I haven't been in here in ages!

So our babies are 9 months old! Who's thinking of number 2 or 3 hahaha we certainly are NOT

Anyway J is still giving us a rough time with sleeping :o he is marginally better, and naps well during the day but night time is painful. Goes down quite easily (usually feed to sleep) at around 7.30 or 8 but most of the time sleeps 1 or 2 hours before waking again, then fights and ends up between us for the night and wakes twice more to feed.

On a positive note - he has chubbed right up! He's wearing size 0 or 1 depending on the brand. In the last couple days he's started taking some steps!! Teeth 9 & 10 are coming through too. Loves his solids but unfortunately has a sensitive little tummy :(

We've been TTC #2 since AF returned on new years day! I like to think I'm the best kind of crazy ;)

Wow, walking already LN! Who gave him permission to do that? I keep joking if Arya starts walking anytime soon I'm going to push her over :lol:

We've all been busy with other things and not staying in touch here, but it's really nice to read how things are going when someone does post, isn't it?

Thor and I are doing pretty well, I guess. He's also pulling to stand and just starting to let go and stand unassisted for a few seconds. He can walk around pushing our dining chairs along the floor, but won't alk holding our hands at all. He's really curious and confident, smiles and laughs a lot, and is usually happy to play alone, in sight of Mum or Dad, for up to an hour at a time, at some stage in the day. He has 7 teeth, and they came through with the first two together, then we had a break fro about 2 months before the next 5 all came through over the course of 2 weeks! He's doing great with solids, and seems to have a very strong internal clock that tells him it's lunch time at 11.30, and dinner time at 5. The reflux hasn't stopped yet - He's been on Losec since 4 months, and every month when the bottle is nearly empty, we go without it for a few days, but all the symptoms come back, and so we fill the next script and keep going for another month. :(

We go back to hospital as a day patient in about 3 weeks time to do another eg challenge, as part of the egg allergy study. He came up as allergic to egg yolk and white, in tests by the immunologist after he had the reaction to the randomized powder at the last hospital visit, so we've been very careful to avoid egg in any of his foods so far. But they think there's a good chance that he'll be ok wither by 10 months or 12 months, so we're trying again this time with baked egg - I have to make muffins according to a recipe they give, I have to make 12 muffins from the recipe and bring in 2 of them, then he gets fed them 1/8th of a muffin at a time until he gets a reaction (or gets full! I don't think 2 whole muffins would fit in his little tummy!) FX he's ok this time, and we can start to add egg to his diet. :)

He's still on a mix of boob and formula, and I'm thrilled that the bf has gone so well. I'm pretty casual about it now, and although I still take all the supply boosters (motilium, brewers yeast, fenugreek and blessed thistle), I'm not nearly as stressed about it now, and if he misses a feed, or has literally 20 seconds on each side before getting too distracted and not going back for more, I just let it go.

Sleep-wise, we get 2 naps most days, they're usually 1-2 cycles (40-80 mins) but he definitely does best if he has one 3 cycle sleep and one 2 cycle sleep. it's not worth the stress of trying to resettle him during the day, though, because it rarely works, and it justs wastes too much time. He has a warm bottle of milk followed by boob (if it's me putting him down) and then goes down very dopy, and drops off in his bed, which is great. Night time, he's waking at least once every night, usually twice, and sometimes 3 times a night, but again, unless he's teething, goes back to sleep easily after a boobfeed.

One of the reasons that I'd be ok with him going off the boob is that my cycle still hasn't come back, and I'm ready to start trying again. Two of the Playgroup Mums are pg again - due in Aug and Oct, both of them have August first bubs! That's going to be reeeeeally tough! Up until about 7 months, I was horrified at the idea of falling pregnant again, and felt absolutely that my body was not ready, then all of a sudden, I realised that yes, I was ready, physically at least. But no cycle, so there's no chance anyway, and with DP's low sperm count, even with a cycle and if I were not still using the Mirena, chances are it wouldn't happen. But DP is starting to come around to the idea of a number two, and I think that in a few months, perhaps once Thor turns one, I'll look at getting the mirena out, and see if m cycle returns then. if it doesn't, I'll stop all the BF supplements, and maybe start to reduce the feeds at that point.

We are looking to start ttc at maybe the end of the year or start of next. No rush, I want to enjoy Amelia for a bit more.

Since my last post she decided to refuse breast but has only had one day of no BM. I gave her what I had expressed for comfort and a few days she had a snack. I have since figured out that she doesn't even want a bottle in the mornings so maybe it wasn't me. She doesn't really wants milk until after 3pm. Is that weird?
Apart from that everything is good, tooth number 6 is finally about to cut, it has gone up and down so many times.

Pholi - I was wondering how Thor was going with the study. Arya is on the powder for a couple more weeks and then we introduce egg. So glad to hear that your feeling more relaxed about bf and it's going well. You should be so proud of yourself!

DDB - No sure if it's weird. Arya is still very much a booby girl and some days has next to no solids. Certainly makes it difficult at times when she's clearly hungry but doesn't want to eat.

AFM - So my last post I mentioned we had been TTC since new years. Today we got a BFP :D

Miss_Dee – WOOHOOO!! Just in case I didn’t mention it before. So glad #2 happened quicker for you then #1.

LOL at wanting to push Arya over for standing. And no….not bad. I want to do it with Annabella too. Although I think concrete might be a better option. Might stop that pesky walking she’s doing too!

DaydreamBeliever – hahaha. I think it’s funny the technical terms. But probably because I do it too.

Her weight is FANTASTIC!

No I don’t think it’s weird that Amelia doesn’t want milk till after 3pm, especially if she’s really into her solids. A has now dropped all but her night feeds. Couldn’t care less about milk during the day. She goes from 5:30am(ish) until 8:30pm(ish) without any milk at all (unless she’s not feeling well, then she totally goes off all solids and practically lives on my boob).

lady_neon – We’re not having any more. We’ve both always said two, DH had the snip when A was about 2 months old so we wouldn’t have any surprises.

Sorry to hear that J still isn’t sleeping well. A goes down well at about 8:30, but she wakes ALL THE TIME. 11:30, 1:30, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:30 generally. Then up for the day a bit after 6. Thankfully she goes back to sleep fairly quickly.

YEAH on steps. BOO to sensitive tummy. That much make it hard.

Pholi – T sounds like he’s going leaps and bounds too. Who told them they could grow up so quickly?

Wow!! 7 teeth, we still only have 2, doesn’t look like the top 2 have moved at all since I said I thought they weren’t too far off.

That sucks about the reflux. I hope he grows out of it soon. A finally had her cough officially diagnosed (and mostly dealt with). Reflux on that one, so none of the scary stuff that we were thinking at first, which was good. We’re doing the on again off again to see if it’s stopped yet with the meds too.

Will be interesting to see how he goes with the egg in a few weeks time. I hope it turns out that he’s fine with it now.

That’s fantastic that you’re still BF. You’ve done a fantastic job with that.

AFU – A is growing up way too fast. She’s standing on her own now quite a bit, and takes a few steps here and there unaided. Thankfully she still seems happy to push things around and furniture walk. I’m not ready for her to be fully mobile yet.

She’s also decided that the high chair is no longer for her. She wants to sit at the table and eat like everyone else to the point of completely losing it if you try to get her even close to her high chair. So breakfast and lunch see her sitting at the little table on the little chair eating with DS. Dinner she has a booster seat and sits at the big table with us. She tries to use a fork, but usually gives up on that one quickly and starts shoveling with both hands. She’s a complete fanatic on her food. She LOVES her solids and will eat/steal anything and everything put in front of her, remotely close to her, or left within reach (within reach being a very broad term as she will climb to reach food if given half the chance/opportunity).

She waves all the time, which is really cute. Had her first word maybe two weeks ago, bye-bye, which was quickly followed by 2 – mumum and 3 – dada. I think she’s starting to try to say DS’s name now too.

MissDee, Woohoo!! Congratulations on your BFP :) That was quick compared to last time, I'm so pleased for you!

Dr Tal, wow, A is going great with food, huh? Is she still strapped into her chair at the big table? I'm pretty sure Thor would just fall off, not cos he can't sit, just that he has no awareness of edges or height yet. And weird how all that coughing was actually reflux! I'm glad that's what it was, not that it's a good thing to have, but at least is something that she'll almost certainly grow out of, rather than have to live with forever, like asthma or a heart problem. Furniture walking. Great term! Thor does that, too. sometimes I come back into the family room to find all the chairs rearranged. he pushes one into a wall, can't get any further, so he goes and finds another one that will move for him. :) Interior decorator in training, maybe?

DDB, Thor is also on and off with boob/bottle and solids, on different days. I keep telling myself that 'parents provide, babies decide',and as long as I'm offering, he'll take what he needs.

Lady_neon, have you tried calling Ngala for a chat about J's sleeping. I've found it can be really, really helpful, and they have always been respectful if I say that I'm not keen on this or that. They have been able to identify the source of problems every time for me, so far.

Pholi – I was so relieved with the coughing turned out to be reflux, like you said, not because reflux is good, but because it is something she will grow out of. It was complete fluke that it was picked up too.

I had her at the doctor for who knows what number time….for coughing. They’ve always been really good at trying to figure out what it was, but still to no avail. Anyway, I got a different doctor to unusual this time and she happened to have the hiccups when we went in. He looked her all over. Couldn’t find a reason for the cough….as usual. Then started talking/asking about her hiccups. Asked me if she got them often. I told him all the time. Usually several times a day. Asked me a few more questions about her spitting up and the like, then said he’d like to try her on a reflux med for a while. Then explained how one of his children use to get really bad reflux and it would cause him to cough AND that hiccups are a classic reflux symptom. That was the only reason he picked up on it, because he’d gone through it too. He told me about the acid burning the throat, which would cause excess mucus production, which in turn would cause the coughing. He said that the reflux meds wouldn’t work straight away as her throat would have to heal first but that if it was reflux I should notice a difference within a week to then days. As soon as he said it, it made sense, tried the meds and fixed it within a couple of weeks. and she only has coughing issues when I go off it for a few weeks to see if it’s cleared up yet and sure enough, it did!

A LOVES her food. It’s all business when food is around, and she CRACKS it if she doesn’t get enough quick enough. When I started her on solids I’d have to feed her puree first until she wasn’t as hungry before I could give her finger foods as she’d get mad at not being able to get food in her mouth fast enough and would have meltdowns.

I tried strapping her into a chair. That worked only until the point she realised her brother wasn’t strapped in. Then no way no how was she going to be strapped in. So now if she’s at the big table I just watch her really closely, and if she’s at the little table I just let her do her own thing, if she falls out of the chair she falls out of the chair it’s not so high that she’ll do much but scare herself. Probably sounds a bit mean, but she’ll never learn unless I let her. Probably a bit earlier then I would have done I had my own way, but she wants to grow up much faster then I want her to :o It only took her once or twice of falling out of the chair before she learned how far she could lean and she perches there quite nicely now.

That’s the same thing DS did and A started to do, so I got out DS’s walker thing for A and now she pushes that around (just to clarify, not a walker as in plunk her in a seat and she sits suspended above the ground on wheels that she ‘walks’ around, it’s one of those straight at the back sloped at the front, playstation on wheels with a handle she can hold onto and push sort of thing). They are great for children who want to be mobile who have parents who want their furniture to stay where the put it :lol:

Dr Tal, I'd read about the hiccups being common in reflux, but the cough bit... it just makes sense when you explain that! In fact, I'm going to pass that on to a friend of mine whose 5 mo son has 'recurrent chest infections' but actually doesn't look unwell or get a temp at all. Is it ok with you is I cut and paste your words?

Thor has a walker, like the one you describe - but he can't steer at all, so when he hits a wall, he crawls off to find something else that moves!

Both DS and A were like that with their push things. We actually ended up hooking a dog lead to the front of it, so that we could steer it for them, of course that also meant that we had to walk around with them, but they were able to get around a lot better and really enjoyed it, so it was worth the extra time and effort.

Thanks Dr Tal... yes, actually I already did! She appreciated knowing it was a possibility, I haven't heard what her Dr thinks yet.

DDB, J doesn't usually breastfeed much during the day either. Loves his solids! He has a morning feed before we get out of bed and then most days he won't have another until the late afternoon. He most certainly makes up for it at night though ;)

Miss Dee congratulations! What is your due date?

Dr Tal as usual you have mammoth posts! Don't even know where to start! Has A said any more words yet? Am glad you finally have an answer about her coughing.

Pholi I haven't called but have thought about it. Will post below an update on J's progress anyway. Sorry I can't remember what else you said.

So, OMG finally some improvements over here! I moved dinner back to 5pm, followed by play time with dad and bath at around 7. Then into room for wind down, booby and sleep. He is much, much easier now! He often wakes several times between bedtime and when we go to bed, but once we go to bed, he sleeps a few hours in his cot before stirring for a feed then we bedshare from then and he will wake around 6 or 7 for a feed then up at 8. He also has 2 regular naps during the day with the afternoon nap usually 1.5-2 hours long. Things are MUCH better.

He also is starting to properly walk :o still 2 weeks off 10 months. He says hello, mamma, dada and nanna, trying to say pop too. Unfortunately still major grain issues, he cannot have anything even with traces of wheat, rice bla bla bla. I have a referral to see the only Gastroenterologist Paediatrician in Perth but he is not taking any new patients :( so apart from completely avoiding grains there is nothing I can do.

Pholi – I’d be curious to find out what your friend’s doctor says about it as well. It would be good if it was caused by reflux. Certainly less troubling in the long run then recurrent chest infections. Starting at that age, it certainly can’t be good for future health!

Lady N – J sounds much like A with her breastfeeds. Makes for a tiring night.

:lol: at my posts. It’s only cause I am bored and at work. If I wasn’t at work I’d probably not find the time to post at all!

As for words, she says hello now too, and is still trying to say something which is either brother or DS’s name. I can’t figure out which one but does a definite ‘Br’ sound when trying to get DS’s attention.

So glad things are better sleep wise. You must be feeling so much better for it. And you’ll certainly need the extra energy with him on the move now. DS started walking at about 8½ months and the energy required to look after a walker/runner is just so much more. I’m really glad that A has been slower (although not by much). She can take a few steps on her own, but seems uninclined to do more than that right now, which I am more than happy about.

His grain issues must be hard. Just about everything has wheat or rice products in them now-a-days. I’d say it sounded like he could be a coeliac, but I’m pretty sure they are okay with rice. That sucks about the Gastroenterologist Paed not taking on new patients. You’d think they’d make an exception with a baby. I hope you are able to get some help with that soon.

hi everyone, how are we all? We are good here. A had quite a few nights in the last week where she screamed for hours but she is drooling so much and grabbing at her mouth so more teeth are on their way. I can feel the molars up top and bottom so they are moving but in the mean time some others may pop up.
She is doing well on formula, I am almost completely dry which has taken a while but at least I am not in pain anymore and no longer feeling guilty. She has grown a lot and is almost 10kg now so people aren't calling her tiny anymore, which is different. She is too clever for her own good sometimes. She waves to everyone now and claps and says 8 words so I think she is doing well :)

DDB, glad you're both happier with the stopping bf now.

lady_Neon, that sounds like a much better routine - that's exactly what Thor is doing, too, in terms of 2 day sleeps, dinner at 5, except we do bath at 5.45 so he's out and ready to play by the time Daddy comes home at 6, and then he's in bed around 7. It's very much along the lines of what Ngala told us to do, and it was the bringing dinner forward to no later than 5 that really helped his nights. Thor still wakes 2-3 times a night, but is generally happy to go straight back to sleep after a 10 minute suck at the boob.

So much talking going on with other babies! Thor doesn't say anything recognisable, though I did wonder if he was saying 'duck' in the bath the other night... he talks non-stop, though, so he's got plenty to say, I just don't know what it is! However, he has been waving and clapping for a few weeks now, and just this week has started to very meaningfully use the baby sign language sign for 'milk'. A few times he has come up to me and made the sign, and I check my watch, and sure enough, it's lunch time, or dinner time. :) SOOOOOO proud of him! We're starting to use some of the others more consistently now - more, finished, drink, bath, nappy.

It’s been very quiet of late in here. Wondering how all the other bubs are doing. Most are either fast approaching their first birthday or just had them! It’s hard to believe it was a year ago that we were all in here waiting waiting waiting!!

Pholi – How is T going talking? If he’s still not I wouldn’t worry about it much. I know you’d hear it all the time, but they all develop differently. I am pretty sure DS was close to a year before he started to talk, and he was closer to 18 months before he was saying much at all. Now at three he’s Mr Chatterbox with a vocabulary to impress just about anyone…well when they can understand him that is. I am pretty sure he has a speech problem (maybe a lisp) We are bringing him to see a specialist, first hearing to make sure all is well there (which I am pretty sure it is) then after that most likely a speech thearapist….want to get it nipped in the butt before he goes to school.

In hindsight, given DS may have a speech problem, maybe not the most reassuring story to tell you if T still isn’t talking. LOL
A still only says 4 words though, and those not very often at all. Her repertoire consists of bye bye, mumum, hello and daddy. But the only one she uses consistently is Hello (I know, you thought I was going to say mumum) she’ll wave and hello anyone who looks at her. Her shy mode has yet to kick in.

It’s great that he’s at least able to communicate to you using baby sign.

AFU – Well in birthday planning mode. Still not too sure what we are going to be doing party wise, most likely just family and close friends. The big 1 has just snuck up on us way too quickly.

A is practically running now. She doesn’t crawl or furniture surf at all anymore. It’s full scale walking/chasing after big brother. And he’s so proud of her. He tells everyone about his “mybella” and how she can walk and talk and shows her off to everyone. They can often be found wandering around together with him letting her hold his hand to get about. She’s also started to crack it with me carrying her too. Not to the degree DS did (as soon as he could walk I wasn’t allowed to carry him ANYWHERE until he was about 14 months. He wanted to walk, and it was SO PAINFUL because he was SO SLOW!) Anyway, she’ll whinge and wiggle and carry on till I put her down, then she’ll grab onto my finger and off she toddles…at a snails pace…ah well.

Definitely very quiet in here. I was actually looking at the belly buddies thread a couple of nights ago looking at what we were posting a year ago. Lots of sleepless nights for bubs that had arrived and lots of impatience waiting for bubs that were still cooking!

Pholi, Arya has been saying a lot for awhile now, though most of it very unrecognizable. In the last couple of weeks though she's started getting very clear with some words. Her favourite thing to say now is 'Hello Daddy'. For the most part though it's gibberish and everything seems to be 'ba'. How's the planning coming along for Thor's first birthday?

We've been busy moving house, getting ready for Arya's birthday (still can't believe she'll be 1 in just over a week!) and starting to actually plan our wedding! We finally set a date, May the 4th, so to start booking things.

We've got 10 teeth now and Arya is so close to walking it's crazy. She adopts along the furniture so quickly and is getting more and more confident with it. She took a step the other night going from the couch to my leg so I suspect walking will be happening very soon!

Miss dee how exciting to be planning your wedding

AFU we had G's birthday on the weekend just family and a few friends approximately 40. It was a lovely day in melb so the kids were outside playing etc. G was such a trooper she was exhausted but wouldn't have her afternoon nap too much going on. She is also walking so lots of running around behind her. Her favourite word is daddy she probably has about 4 words in her vocab too we are into a great routine now that I'm back at work its hard but guess I'm not the only one who has to be super organised and tired. Anyway best I get back to work so I can get out of here

Wow, that last post of mine was only 5 weeks ago, but so much has changed! Thor's now walking and running, sleeping through the night (he's only woken one night in the last 3 weeks), and I'm not in the least concerned about his vocabulary - as well as signing milk, drink, and finished, he says mamam, daddy, that (with a very clear 't' at the end), taa, duck, fish, shoes, grandma, and tickle. And possibly dinosaur, which comes out as 'dodo', but that was just this morning, so we'll see if he says it again. His favourite word is 'that', which we are hearing and answering alllllllllllll daaaaaaay, but the cutest is shoes, which sounds like 'jizzzzzz'. :)

Miss Dee, 'hello Daddy' is so cute! I know DP's stresses just melt away when he comes home and has Thor run up saying 'Daddyyyyy!' Congrats on setting a date. There must be so much to plan and decide on!

Planning a 1st b'day party is enough for me right now. We've invited about 130 people, including kids, but we kind of know that about half won't be able to make it, like almost all of DPs family. His Mum will come, so she'll get to meet my family for the first time. That'll be interesting!

Dr Tal, it must be quite nice now that A is a little bigger and is able to defend herself when need be from her older brother. An irl friend has the same age gap, and as sister is only 3 months now, she's completely at his mercy when it comes to excessively loving cuddles, feeding her muesli bars, etc! Good on you for getting the checks doen for dS's speech... better to know about it sooner and get it treated, rather than let it go too long if there is something not quite right.

I was wondering where this thread went.

Had dd2s bday party last weekend on her actual birthday. Theme was sunshine just like how dd2 makes us feel.

We hired a huge jumping castle and dd2 loved it.

She is still exclusively bf.

She is a very hard baby but i wont dampen the mood here :)

I feel so sad how fast time has flown!!!

AFM, hard to believe this time a year ago I was pacing a hospital room in labour! We've had a lovely day so far, now about to head to the shops to get the food and a few last minute bits and pieces for the party tomorrow. Can't believe today my little girl turns 1!

Definitely in the super organised (or perhaps not as organised as I should be) and extrememly over tired basket.
Pholi – Wow. Heaps of words now. A still hardly says anything at all, but I think that’s because her brother does all her talking for her. Which is kind of cute, kind of frustrating all at the same time.
How did T’s birthday party go? I’ll have a bit of a laugh if all the 130 people you invited DID show up, LOL.
As for A needing to defend herself. It might be the other way around. She teases her brother mercilessly and calls the tears right on cue if things don’t go her way, and he’s always a sucker as soon as that bottom lip drops and the tears come. She can get him to do anything/give her anything. It’s pretty funny in a scary kind of way!
Mum2C’s – I’m with Miss D. This is the perfect place to share/vent/ask advice if you need it. Especially if little C is a full on baby. You need someplace to be able to just go BLAH and get it all out.
Miss D – How are your wedding plans going now that the big 1st birthday bash is over?
AFU – Our little princess is 1 today. I have to admit I had a few tears this morning. I just can’t believe she’s grown up SO QUICKLY. And she’s SO independent. Needs to sit on her own chair. Needs to feed herself. Doesn’t want to be carried anymore. She can walk (at a VERY PAINFUL snails pace) and insists on walking EVERYWHERE.
On the other side, she’s such a little cuddle bug. She LOVES to give big bear hugs, and will walk up to you with her little hands held out in the cutest way then when you bend down to get her she just throws her arms around your neck and buries in her face and hugs her little heart right out.

DDB your so right we have been very quiet in here.

I'll just give a little update. Life has become quiet hectic I'm back at work 4 days and let me tell you without my mums help I think I would be at breaking point. I have so much respect for you ladies that do it all alone without any help. G stays woth my mum 2 days a week and 2 days at daycare. She is now 14 months old and I love all the changes going on with her. We have had a few episodes a hospital visit for a burn (lucky it wasn't bad) and a few colds and 1 infection. She is now totally mobile to the point she hates being put in a stroller. She points to things she wants and her vocabulary if improving and getting bigger too. DH has taught her "I love you" and she says "I uv u" it truly melts me heart. I also love that we can now enjoy so many activities together. We hosted our first BBQ since having G a few weeks ago which was nice but so different now that we have a child. DH and I were more organised and G was into everything trying to help.

Cant believe its nearly christmas...no tree for us this year but I plan on decorating the house...all G's christmas shopping is done but nothinh else has been started yet.

Terry – I’m glad to hear that the burn wasn’t bad. It still must have been pretty scary, and bad enough for you to take her to the hospital :(
A is good. Growing up too quickly. Completely different to her brother, which is good, but she can be very challenging. She’s very defiant and LOVES getting into mischief. She is in to EVERYTING. And laughs openly in your face when you ask her not to do something and if she’s not there yet, picks up into a run. She has her brother wrapped right around her finger. She can get him to do ANYTING for her, which includes opening up the doors to let her outside, with all the ensuing chaos that one brings (we live in a high-set house :o ) She’s big into tantrums and will throw one at the drop of a hat for any conceived wrong doing on our part. A don’t pull your brother’s hair. Cue tantrum. A don’t bite your brother. Cue tantrum. A don’t hit your brother. Cue tantrum. Nappy change time. Tantrum. Into or out of the bath…differs on any given day….tantrum. We fed her. We didn’t feed her. He didn’t feed her fast enough, we didn’t feed her what she wanted to be fed. Tantrum, tantrum, tantrum. I think you see the picture.
And just when I am at my wits end she turns into a complete angel. She gives the MOST FANTASTIC cuddles and is such a cuddly loving little girl. She wraps her arms right around you, snuggles her head in and pats you on the back. Gives you the most adorable (yet kind of drooly) open mouth kisses complete with the mwa sound. She’ll put her garbage in the bin for you. Takes her dishes to the sink. Wipes up any spills you make. Picks up her toys and puts them away. Sometimes I honestly think I have two completely different children.
She doesn’t talk still beyond mummy, daddy, hello and good-bye. I am getting a bit concerned about it, but she clearly communicates with her brother somehow because he can tell me exactly what she wants. Mummy. Annabaya wants water. Sure enough she does. Mummy Annabaya wants yoghurt. Yup…spot on again. She needs a nappy change, she wants to go outside. Whatever. It’s a bit freaky really.
Christmas. Halfway there. I have some things for both kids. But I don’t have much time to get to the shops now I am working 5 days a week and even less time to get to the shops without the kidlets. I also am at a loss as to what to get for her. We still have all of DS’s old toys and don’t really ‘need’ anything so to speak. She is really girly though and LOVES to wear things in her hair. She got a tiara from somewhere (no clue where) and she struts around wearing that. So cute. She keeps touching it, then will look at herself in the mirror, then go and parade in front of her brother until he tells her how beautiful she looks. She’ll giggle and duck her head shyly then strut off to look at herself in the mirror again. Cracks me up.

It somehow doesnt appear in the forums anymore so i had to go through all the participated threads.

Anyway, how are we all? My gosh i cannot believe our kids are 18mnths now and soon to be 2 years old!!!

C is so cheeky that girl. Loves to dance and sing.

She is also very challenge. Has total melt downs when things dont go her way! And refuses to be put in the car seat!

Anyway hope all you ladies are doing well! Wanted to check on you.

Hi M2SC I guess time flies when we are all busy. So good to hear from you. Sounds like you have your hands full and I must say I know a bit how that feels little G is so independant and strong willed that sometimes I cant believe that I'm having to battle a little 19month old. Love her to bits though and wouldn't change a thing. I'm currently working 4 days a week but rumour has it our roles in Melb will be getting made redundant so I'll have to look for FT work. The thing I will miss is the mummy and G time we go to Tiny Tutus (yep I have a little dancer too)in the morning, shopping home for lunch and a nap then off to playgroup

Yep i returned to work full time too in jan. I had to extend my mat leave 3 times because velcro baby here would be attached to me like glue!

Amazingly i am still breastfeeding her which doesnt help because the sec she sees me she is latched onto my and wont let go.

Unfortunately travelling to and from work already takes up 4 hrs of my day so I dont get to see her much.

I love looking at the photos of her on ny phone! But im telling you i find working so much easier than looking after her lol.

I'm not back at work... Loving being a FT mum, and just doing mummy and baby stuff - Playgroup, Babywearers meetings, get together a with other mums, etc.

Thor is amazing, funny, adventurous, cooperative, helpful... He spend large parts of the day playing outside, mostly pouring water into different containers and onto the plants and over himself. He can name all his shapes and letters, and is putting short sentences and multiple concepts together. I love that if he's upset, he can almost always tells why, and he can understand what I tell him in return. He loves to bring his dirty clothes basket to the laundry and put his clothes in the machine, to help me unload the dishwasher, to put away the onions and potatoes when we go to the markets, etc. Long may that last!

We're also still BFing, just one feed a day, but that's going to have to stop very soon as we've been ttc number 2 for a while now, and are about to start AC again, and you have to have not BF for a month, afaik.

As much as I know I always wanted kids, I'm still constantly blown away by how much I love him and how much he's turned my world about!

Long time, no talk ladies! How is everyone doing?

Lots has happened here since I last posted. In January I became a Mrs, then in March Arya became a big sister. It's certainly created some new challenges having a toddler and a baby, but they are so besotted with each other.

Arya has been having some sleep issues. She doesn't like to go to sleep and fights it with everything she has but once asleep she's normally pretty good only waking once if at all. Her speech is unbelievable and I still can't believe how much she says and understands.

Can't believe our babies are 2!
