Haha Maya was just asleep for 4hrs, my boobs were killing me!
But she has definitely had times where she doesn't sleep between feeds, I put it down to cluster feeding because she is such a piggy, and so I kept feeding her.

I wouldnt mind if Zen fed when awake but he isnt the boobie monster DS1 was... He screams at the boob if he doesnt want it. Argh! But he is finally asleep, nearly 5 hours after he woke. Today he only slept about 4 hours, so I am hoping that means a better night for us.... But I am not holding my breathe.
Fingers crossed phyrephly! You must be exhausted.
Bummer! 4 hours all day wow you both must be pooped! Good luck for some sleep tonight.
After coping so ridiculously well, last night I was struck down with gastro from both ends. I'm paranoid it's a symptom of something serious after childbirth or breastfeeding? No one else in the house is sick! I can't get out of bed and it talks all my energy to feed her 😢
Oh no Jessica, I hope you feel better soon. That sounds nasty!
Oh Jessica. Not nice. If in doubt today call a health line or dr. Poor thing!
I'm pretty sure now I have mastitis. I didn't take my temp but I didn't need to, I thought I was going to combust. 😞 Any suggestions on treatment? This is the first time I've it.
Straight to dr Jessica. Can you get to one today? You might need antibiotics.
Oh no Jessica! If it's really bad you need antibiotics, and it sounds that way if you're stuck in bed :(
Sorry to hear you're not well Jessica!
I'm so tired! She just poos all night long! As soon as she is fed, settled and back to sleep...giant poo so then I do the whole process again. It was midnight before I even got to sleep last night. And witching hour (or hours) sucks! Sorry for the rant having a blah moment. Lucky she is gorgeous!
It came on so quickly! I've been expressing all day and then feeding her straight afterwards and I feel so much better, but still not 100%. I'll definitely ring a home visiting doctor if it gets worse again. Thanks girls.
Lady-bug, I have the same problem with the poos, I don't remember newborns pooing this much! Overnights for me consist of feeding every 2.5hours which includes around 15mins on boob one, 5mins to change a stinker, 15mins on boob two, 5mins to settle her in her bed, then 10-20mins of me lying there listening to her going to sleep and logging into BellyBelly! So that's one hour of being awake every 2.5hrs. Ouch!
But to end on a positive, I love having the older kids to help out!
I'm glad you're feeling better Jessica, sounds like you're doing the right thing keeping the boobs drained. Massage any hard lumps you can feel too!
I'm with you all on the poos! Dd did not poo much at all, but she was quite the pee-er. But ds is always pooping! They are not usually big poos but I am going through sooo many nappies it's shocking. Jessica your routine sounds like mine, there really isn't much sleep time in between all that feeding... I'm glad your older kids are old enough to help out :)
I just looked into starting the fb group, I think I need to add at least one person to start it up. Can someone who was interested in joining pm me your email addy?
Both kiddies are asleep at the moment (as is dh ), was going to start the ppl and birth cert forms but ended up on here instead haha. Are people going to get the commemorative certificate? I ummed over it so much with dd and ended up getting it, this time I'm just going to get the same one but the boy version!
Cattie i may have just sent you a PM, but I am on a tablet and I dont know if it worked :)
I'm not getting the commemorative birth cert. this time. I did with DS. It was the harbour bridge one that they don't have now. Would be nice to match, but hey.
Now I just need to wait for DH to do his bits on the form....... DH and forms.... Ugh! He manages Everytime to get things wrong. Have a go at the form. Have a go at whoever created the form. Have a go at whoever designed the pen he's using to complete the form. Have a go at me for even asking him to complete his tiny, tiny, tiny part of the form. Ugh!
Oh jessica that's bad.
Hope the pooing settles down for everyone soon! We cloth nappy and I'm certainly having to keep on top of the washing so I don't run out of nappies :)
My baby boy was more unsettled last night. First night of milk and first 'real' poo. He has been much better today thank goodness. I'm half hoping for a better night. DH is going away tomorrow, not the best when I've hit the crying day or am I just sad/scared that I'm on my own with 5 already tomorrow. Never planned on having a 5day old on my own. Thank goodness it's still school holidays. DH back Wednesday night so not long away. Now I'm off to cry again lol!
Oh interesting note. DH and I have different blood types. So out of thè 5 kids 4 have different types. How I will ever remember who is who I don't know
Oh god tegam, I dont know how I would cope! I would certainly be crying :( Hope you have a smooth bunch of days/nights and that DH helps heaps when he gets back!
Williever, it sounds liek we have the same DH/P lol. DP took ages to fill out his bit of the birth certificate form...
Tegam- you are Superwoman! When DH gets back you at least deserve a massage!
Tegam just take it easy and only do what you can. The kids can have some fun days at home, or maybe organise a few play dates as long as the kids can get picked up/dropped off.
I've set up a Facebook account just for the purpose of chatting with you lovely ladies! Let me know what I need to do.
Wow Tegam I'm stressed about having dd and bubs all myself just for the morning tomorrow! Dh goes back to work, two weeks has really flown by :( Hope you'll be ok. Good work on the cloth nappies!
We have a fb group consisting of just me and phyrephly at the moment! If others want to pm me their emails I'll add you in :)
I will PM when on laptop :-)
*takes 3 deep breaths and dives right in repeating "Facebook is not evil..." and trying not to faint*
PM'd you Cattie ;)
Haha Eivie, I feel exactly the same! Just checking, my friends wouldn't be able to see the posts, right? Pretty sure my brothers don't want to read about my sore nipples or the stitches on my hoohaa.
I have Sent my details
Sorry havent been around much bubby is still in hospital
:-(
Oh geez kellbell, i really hope she turns a corner for you and you can go home! How are you coping? X
Oh no Kellbell, how incredibly difficult that must be. Do you have any idea how much longer she's expected to stay?
Oh no kellbell :( ...That's aweful. Have they got a better idea of what it is? I really hope you can take her home soon...
Oh kellbell my heart breaks for the introduction to motherhood uou have had! Hope little miss A keeps improving as fast as she has been. Some knew she would need those lovely chubby legs! You did such a wonderful job growing her and giving her a Beautiful birth. When she gets home you should set up the birth pool and have a beautiful float with her!
Little man loved his first bath. He gave me a better night sleep and has had great wake periods today so fingers crossed :)
Sorry Kellbell. I agree with Tegam's idea of a a float together. Bub will love it. I can't imagine what you are going through. Hugs x
Raupe if it's a closed group then no no one will be able to see a thing and people will only be allowed to join the group by invitation and not be able to even search for thè group.
Eivie you could set up a profile for Facebook just for this group if you are very worried.
Cattie I added you on fb this morning. I'm also friends with jessica so she can just add me.
Jess how are the old boobs today?
Sorry to hear that kellbell :( Any indication when she might come home? Is she improving?
I really think my fb is playing up, can't find ppl and not getting these fr... I'll jump on the pc after this feed and see if that's any better! And I chose 'secret' for the group so I think that means it won't come up on your friend's feeds!

Cattie I've just search all the threads and I can't find the details of birth.... Again. I'm sorry :)
Eivie our babies were 9cm different but the same weight almost :)
Kellbell- I'm so sorry you are going through this, we were only in scn for 2 days and I was beside myself. I have everything crossed that she is home soon x
Cattie-I'll pm you.
Afm-DD screamed all afternoon yesterday. From 2:30-7:30pm! I was exhausted as was she. She then did a great sleep, 9pm til 2am!! I have no idea what's going on. I'm thinking its silent reflux. I can see her bring something up but it always goes back down, so maybe its hurting her. I have no experience with reflux, anyone got any ideas?
Hi all I had a bad day Saturday.. After feeling like such a calm, relaxed new mum who felt she was getting it right, I felt as though everyone was telling me I was doing it all wrong =(
She had put on weight at her 2wk check but only 70g so not back to birth weight (only just) and was told she needs to put on 300g in next two weeks or back to see the dr. So to go weigh her at cayfhs weekly.. I also have to feed her 3hrly till night and then I can let her have a block sleep at night.. Till then we were feeding on demand and that was 4-5hrly with maybe a 6hr block at night but the OB at the hospital said that's fine..
So the first night was a bit stressful and she didn't wanna settle for DH and he was stressing. I was sulking in bed (woe is me haha) and then he has a go at me saying she hates being swaddled and not having arms free!!!! What?? She has been swaddled at since day 1 and she is fine!! It differentiates her days from nights and she had always been a good sleeper!!! I felt like I failed..
I'm doing better now thanks to some great family support =(
KellBell- sorry to hear you can't bring bubs home yet, hope it's all over soon and you can have a float in the birth pool xx
Lady-bug- I have no exp with reflux but I was told the other day that there is a baby gaviscon you can mix with their feeds? I'm not sure if you are bottle feeding at all??
Cattie- I will pm you my email tonight =)
Tegam- my bubs was 4kg also and head was 34.5cm =) glad the little man loved his bath!
Jessica- glad you love us all enough just to make a fb that's dedication lol
Hey to everyone else! Hope your travelling well! And apologies for the woe is me post =(
Wannabubby surely we are all allowed to have a bad day and the more tired we get the more sensitive we get to people's comments. Hugs
Tegam it's amazing the different weights and measurements, isn't it?
Wannabubby I know how you feel. I've been through that, especially in the first week when his weight was a concern. I'm struggling a little now with trying to wean him off the formula too. Because he's used to being a guzzle guts he's been really whingy because he isn't obscenely full. DH was feeding him according to the instructions on the tin, disregarding the breastfeeding because he couldn't measure it and now I think he still doesn't trust that my boobs are making enough. I'm nervous about our visit to the mchn tomorrow, I'm scared he's lost weight again.
