Ugh, Nay, I am cringing over the comments by your MG! We had a similar story with some friends a few years back. They struggled to fall pg with their first but then had two very soon after, neither of which were planned. When they told us they were having a third and I passed on the news to my sister (who has been trying to fall for about 9 years now with no success) she said, 'for heavens' sake, should I post them some condoms?!?' And yes, 'surprising' your other half with a pregnancy is pretty awful behaviour IMO.
I realise how good I have it in being able to choose how many kids we have, and I ask you guys who don't have the choice so easily to forgive me when I go on and on, sounding less than thrilled with my two kids. I am very happy and appreciative that for no good reason I haven't had to struggle the way that some have/do.
I also am really thankful that I've got two healthy kids. My niece has just been offered a wish by the Starlight Foundation. It was weird hearing that, I kept thinking, 'but that's for really chronically ill/dying kids', and I guess my niece's illness is going to cause her a lot of suffering for as long as her life may be. It sucks and it makes me ever thankful that my kids are well.
Incidentally, she has been given time to think about what she'd like and hasn't made up her mind just yet, but the first thing she thought of was to be a mermaid and be able to breathe underwater. PMSL! How classic is that?!? She is 5.
We have made negative progress with toilet training here - P now doesn't want to sit on the toilet before baths so I'm not even bothering with that anymore, LOL! We are definitely going to leave well alone with it. Probably for another 6 months or so, I reckon.
Krystie, LOL @ the somersaults. P is still working on the 'skip-like' jump rather than both feet together.
Amy ya dingbat - doesn't mean you are not allowed to vent when you are having a bad day etc - god, there are many times that I am less than thrilled with Bailz, doesn't mean I am not appreciative of what I have, just means I am human! I know what you mean though, I sometimes feel a bit silly for worrying about our issues when we got pregnant on our first IVF cycle - most don't so our issues are minor, but they are OUR issues, and you can only ever cope with what's happening in your life - as when ever any of us are going through issues it always IS the worst we have to deal with at the time.
But you know what I hate - I hate that our fertility issues affect how I feel about OTHER people having babies - that's just cr*p. I wish that I could hear a pg announcement and it just be about that person, not me IYKWIM. I have caught myself thinking things like "I am more deserving to be a mother, or to get pregnant again blah blah blah". I hate that I judge :(
Yeah - what Nay said!!
don't ever feel you can't talk about your kids - ANY OF YOU! honestly - as Nay said - our issues are OUR issues. I think it's something I, personally, will always "suffer" - the mindset of a long termer - it just doesn't go away. I will be honest and admit it's the worst kind of jealousy (putting it very simply) - it's a horrible way to feel but i just can't help it. it's the reason i withdraw though - i believe self preservation is the only way to manage this feeling. it's not about anyone else at all - it's all about ME (selfish much? lol)
i agree too with Nay that it is crap to have the inability to stop those thoughts - i really am truly HAPPY with our lives - we have an amazing little girl who makes me fall in love with oher more and more every single day - i hate that i have these other thoughts because it's a part of me i just don't believe should be showing up now!
We all judge though, girls. I think even the least competitive of us have judgemental thoughts about other peoples' parenting... even those of us who don't have kids! And I hate myself for thinking things sometimes, even if I am on a different tangent to you, I still judge other mums and feel ashamed of it.
Plus, I wonder if it is part of a grieving process ITMS? You grieve for the child you haven't yet had and we all think brutally honest thoughts when we grieve.
ETA: So I understand if you want to vent about being good mothers and being deserving of more children and how it is TOTALLY unfair that you are not falling pregnant. I will also understand if you need to rack off for a while in order to protect yourself.
You've certainly been nothing but understanding and supportive when life hasn't gone my way either, so big thanks for that.
i think it's just about needing to grieve, for even a short time, something that doesn't, and won't, come easily. the unfairness of our lot in life. and that grieving is generally triggered by pg and birth announcements. i don't tend to have so many "why is she a parent and not me, i'd do it better" moments - more, the "why can't i have a roll in the hay with my man and fall pregnant and keep the baby. rather than come in here and sound superficial and insincere, i just withdraw a little. i did mention it to Bel in FB chat after her pg announcement. it's really nothing AGAINST anyone - just my own way of coping with my own shyte situation. I am pretty realistic - 6 pregnancies, one child. even if we were lucky enough to fall, i have a fairly high failure rate, so that always bugs me as well.
i think actually admitting how i'm feeling will help me a little with coming in here anyway. if i'm having an off day and everyone is gushing about something (like a baby belly or something) and i'm not, i'm hoping you get it. it's not that i don't think the newest photo on FB is gorgeous, it's just that i can't afford to spare the emotion gushing for others and still keep my own negativity at bay.
hope that makes sens!
Makes sense BG!
Man, I just got an email from the apartments we are staying at telling me that I need to pay a $300 bond - far out, it looks like that part of the information was missing from one of the earlier mails they sent me - Grrrr
I'll just pull that $300 out of my ar$e shall I? :wall:
nice way for them to get some dollars out of you Nay! rude!
I'm sure we'll get it back, but I certainly hadn't budgeted for it!! We are off to Perth next week to visit my little brother so don't really want to take $300 out of the cash I've put aside from that, I will have to steal it from my Christmas Account and put it back when we get the bond back!
I dont want to crack the *****s and stay somewhere else cos this is such a great location but I did send them a rather stern email!! LOL
Check out the Avi Krystie made me! You rock darling thanks:)
So cute!
looking good there Bella :)
awesome im waiting for mine to be finished
So glad you like it Bella :D
Nice! Like it, Bella! (Well done, Krystie :) )
Agh, Nay, I am glad you wrote them an email! I would have been spewing as I don't have a Christmas account, LOL!
We have moved! And I have my interweb back! Yay!
Our new place is lovely, although we have some work to do out the back before it's suitable for the girls. They have been playing inside since we moved in (mainly because of the rain - it has been torrential. Great when you're trying to move ) and will be until I can either convince DH to get off his butt and fix lattice to the deck fence or until I grow impatient and do it myself! I suspect the latter.
We have a creek running down the back - it was flowing so fast during the rain and there are tree ferns and massive gums all around, brush turkeys come by every day and I hear whip birds really close by in the mornings. It's like living up north except cooler (which is lucky cause there's no air con, LOL! We'll see how lovely it is in mid-summer). There's a lot of moisture about since the rain though - I wiped mould off the dining chairs yesterday :o and it's quite dark. This morning got up for work and couldn't see anything! I now have to run upstairs and put my pants on cause I couldn't find them before :)
P has been very unsettled with the move which is understandable. I think she is also having a rough time with her lower canine teeth coming through - it looks ouchy and she keeps pulling at her lower jaw when she gets tired and irritable. Poor little love. She will settle soon enough though I think.
I'd better dash! Will be back on a bit later. xx
Congrats on the move Amy. Hopefully the girls both settle in nicely :)
Kyson cut one of his bottom canines yesterday morning. When he got up I could just feel the little point protruding through the gum. It's much more noticeable today so I think the swelling has gone down a bit. It seemed like this particular tooth took forever to cut! He was even waking up a couple of times during the night because of it. One more to go!
Boo!! ...................Still here....gee I am a slack poster...lol!
BTW this post is for your Nay ;)
Will be back tomorrow to catch up with all your lovely ladies and our nearly 2 year old :(
Nicxx
