Mo - Awww that sux! I had to get a urine sample from Chels a few weeks ago and it was actually pretty easy for me.. I wonder why? I found there was no way it was going to fall off, quite the opposite actually it hurt the poor little thing when we had to peel it off... It only took about half an hour... Im so sorry its been so hard for you.. Hoping you dont have to have a catheter and it all happens very soon. How is your Mum? I often think about her and hope she is doing well! YAY for coming to QLD!! Would love to catch up with you!!
Kim - Yep we just got the 18month needle here... Chels is always fine for needles though so didnt even here a whimper... Glad to hear your well... Cant believe how fast Zac is growing!!!

Mo - Phoenix? Any particular meaning behind it? I was thinking that Maddi would need to have a cathetar to get anything. I go to the OB on Monday so he will tell me if there is anything to be concerned about.
Kim - yes, we had the vax done a few weeks ago. I'm actually sending DH and PIL to get the whopping cough booster too and once I spit this one out I'll get the booster too. I'll keep my eyes open for an announcement sooner or later.
Celtic - didn't actually congratulate you. Well done! Everything happens in its own time.
Trish - wow! K is a good little talker. We aren't anywhere close to sentances yet, but he is very good at doing hand gestures that represent words in response to a question. DH was well enough to go out for breakfast and then go to a movie today. He'll be definitely going to work tomorrow!
Julia - yes we'll always be here. Is the time difference between east Oz and Singapore the same as east Oz and WA? I take my hat off to you having to look after Maxxy and pack up the house on your own. I was totally exhausted looking after L for 2 days on my own while DH was on his death bed.

Becky it falls off becuase M pees so much she'll fill the bag up & the weight of it causes the bag to drop off.
My Mum is doing better, She's still not walking but she can stand on her feet with support now which is a good sign. She did fall out of chair yesterday night, guess she tried to stand by herself but couldn't do it.
She's fighting the infection & her broken shoulder is healing well.
She's a fighter my Mum :)
Saffi no real meaning behind it, i've just always liked what a Phoenix represents :)
Maddi was up at 5am today all i can say is thank goodness for Dora.
It was good that i could lay in bed with Kodi, while M wacthed Dora next to us.

Hi girls, I had a quick read of everyone's posts yesterday but my sick and whinging kids got the better of me and I ended up logging off and sitting on the couch nursing both of them! Our weekend of sick kids started Friday night (before we left) when Mia spiked a temp of 40. We hit her with panadol and nurofen and that worked, but over the next 48 hours she went up and down. No real symptoms other than a high temp on and off and she was flat. Tay was still her happy and bubbly self until Monday, when she come crashing down really quickly. She wouldnt drink, eat or do anything but cry. We ended up getting a home visit from the doctors Monday night and found out that she had croup, tonsilitis and a double ear infection. Bruno had to drive to the city (45 mins) to get her some pred mix as she couldnt breath properly. She is still pretty flat, so I have started her on antibiotics in hope that she gets well soon.
Other than that, amazingly our weekend was pretty good. Got to catch up with a lot of the girls from my old mother's group (from when Mia was a baby) and see their 3 year olds. Gosh they grow up quickly. It was great to see the mum's as well, there are 3 I am still really close to and I got to go out for dinner with them! We also spent time with my parents, which was nice. I dont get to see them much these days, but will more so when they move back to Mt Gambier in a few weeks!
Anyway, I had intended to reply to all of your messages, but Tay is crying in her cot so I had better go and get her and give her cuddles. Its going to be another long day I think.

Mo - Ewww, a 5am start sounds a bit rough! I'm so glad your mum is getting better each day :)
Saffi - It definitely sounds like your DH is on the mend! L will be saying more before you know it, K literally just started saying heaps overnight. It's like something in them clicks. L's hand gestures sound so cute!
Becky - How cute Chelsea saying one minute! So cheeky :). They do learn so much more from their older siblings don't they? I don't think K would be doing or saying half the things he does if it wasn't for Joel. He gets to do a lot more than Joel did at the same age too because he wants to do everything Joel does now.
Kim - Good luck with your 18 month check up today! K had his chicken pox vax last week. Although he cried, he had no reaction to it whatsoever thank goodness :)
Celtic - It's hard not to be impatient when TTC isn't it? Don't worry, this pregnancy will fly by ;). I'm feeling OK pregnancy wise, I just have a horrible virus atm which is making me feel terrible.
Julia - How exciting going over for a week to buy things! It's so great that we can still stay in touch no matter where you are!
Kaz - Sorry to hear your girls are sick too :(. I'm glad you had a nice time away though :)
Still feeling sick and miserable here :(. I'm so over this!!! K has now started saying "Where's Joel?" if he can't find him or if Joel's at kinder. It's very cute, but annoying when he has asked for the 100th time LOL. Poor Joel cops K's questions now, instead of him saying "Mum, what's that?", it's "Joel, what's that?" hee hee! Luckily Joel loves to tell him what "that" is :lol:

Amber – I know!! And that cost is with us doing all the packing….although I guess 1600 km is a fair way to cart all our gear!! Imagine if we had decided to move to WA!! I think DH was all for selling everything and buying once we get there but after “discussing” this and telling him exactly how much new would cost….he changed his mind.
Awesome that Myles is sleeping through – makes such a difference to mums!
Saffi – yes that’s true! T/mba has level 5 restrictions at the moment and Curry has level 1. Not only is our dam full but it is over flowing at the moment. I thought it was pretty silly to relax the restrictions so much so quickly but hey I am not on the council.
Yes caitlyn’s earrings look FABULOUS!!! She looks like such a little girl now..not that she didn’t before but you know…
Celtic –January is a good time of the year to be born!! DH wants to wait until C starts school before we have another one and I was all for it until I realised that I would be 36/37 when that happened so am thinking about it some more…might turn out that C is our only although DH desperately wants a son…will just wait and see I guess.
yes when my monitor kicked the bucket last year I found it was almost the same price to buy a whole new computer package including the monitor as it was to buy a monitor – so I got a whole new computer out of the deal! And I can write quite a bit of it off on tax cause I use it 85% for work!! Yay!!
Thanks for asking – Caitlyn’s ear is all good now. We struggled for a while to get shirts on and off her – she refused to let us understandably. But now she even turns them for me so that’s good. 4 more weeks and I can change the earrings that she has in now for the ones her aunt bought her last year!
Kim – we had our chicken pox shot – not a drama. We also got the flu shot for Caitlyn because she is in daycare so much and everything seems to go round there. The doc only gave her half the dose and we go back next week for the other half.
Mo – I have had to get a urine sample from Caitlyn a few times now and I guess I have been lucky in that the bags have always stayed on. I had to make sure her nappy was extra snug around that area so that it didn’t rub and pull on the bag. I also found that it was easier if I put it on just before she went down for a nap. but i guess if she is filling it up so much that won't be very helpful. Good luck!!
AFU - nothgn really to report - still looking for somewhere to live but have Daycare all sorted when we are in Toowoomba so thats the main thing - althogh finding somewhere to live will be quite important too!!
I have better run - i started work 20 mins ago and havent done anyting!!

Didn't occur to me that L should have a flu shot. The Dr knows he's at daycare and didn't say anything. Been pretty lucky so far so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Mo - thats great that your mum is on the mend. She definitely sounds like a fighter.
Kaz - poor Tay to have all those things at once. Hopefully they'll get better son. Must have been nice to catch up with everyone on your trip.

Jasmine done very well at her check up today. She is now 12kg and 86cm tall. MCHN was very please with her progress with solids and her understanding of things. She may be quite and not talk alot but takes it all in.
Tonight she started saying Thank You..so thats a new thing for her!
We are not getting the 18 month vac, off to the dr soon to get the form filled in. I dont feel its needed and i hate getting needles that are not that necessary. Personal choice though.

OMG Max slept all night in his bed...WOOOOO! I put 3 dummies in there coz I figured that he doesn't have a preference for a soft toy, he rather likes to suck on a dummy and squish another one around in his hand :) I heard him wake twice, but he put himself back to sleep. He then came into my bedroom at 5am for a cuddle till 6:15....HAPPY DAYS!
Saffi The time diff between Singa's and Perth is exactly the same (now that our backwards state doesn't get daylight savings in summer)....so 4 hours diff to the east (I think)....It's like being in your own little world over here :)
I am really looking forward to going now.....can't wait to actually have something more interesting to share on the matter. Packing up the house on my own is a drag, but I'm getting there. So much to do and I can't keep my brain still! I'm just trying to pre-organise as many things as I can, so have already organised to disconnected power, phone, internet, and all that! Just chipping away! Gotta get some big furniture moved next week, so will be living here with bare minimum! DH is in China now and will be back in Singapore next week...he's got the keys to the apartment and will get a bed for us (so he can stay there rather than in a hotel) and buy a few essentials. I can't wait to go there and spend lots of money kitting out a new house.....Loving that I can start over! New adventure! WOOT! Enough of that!
Mo You must be like your Mum...very strong. I don't know if I could deal with what you have been going through for the last little while x You should be very proud.

Rebecca Good to see you around :) I got my ears pierced when I was 3....if I have a daughter I think I'd do it REALLY early...I love earrings on babies :) Good luck with all your moving...I know the feeling.

Kim, I got the vax and then I also got a sweet amount of $ for doing it....not going to complain! I also got the Flu Vax done....can't be too careful these days with all those weird flu's out there :) 12kg is a good weight....Max was 12kg at 18 months too (and also at 12 months!) It seems a lot of the bubs around here are around that weight!
Well...better go, the TV has distracted Max enough! I'm going to give myself points for the megga long post too! Ha Ha!

Kym - great news that Jasmine has done well at her checkup! Tay started saying thankyou and please a while ago, she seems to have better manners than her sister who we have to remind to say it! I also read that No 4 is a big possibility for you! Brave girl, do you think that will be it? We are talking about 4 now, but I think that is only cause we have waited so long for No 3. We haven't ruled it out, but will re-evaluate after the next one. I have had c sections and will again, so that might be our deciding factor!
Trish - I hope that you are all on the up with sickness! I had a smile reading about K asking J lots of questions, Tay doesn't do that, but she walks around going where is Mi? Who would have thought you could shorten Mia! LOL
Mo - did you get your wee sample yet? We dropped Mia's sample off last night, so waiting on the results now!
Well Tay has picked up today, yay ... but Mia has a temp again and vomiting to go with it this morning. We have a doctors appointment at 20 past 11, but I am in two minds whether to take her, since its just looking like a gastro type flu! Other than that, my DH and I are now fluey. Oh the joy!

Julia - that's great that Max is sleeping through and sleeping in his own bed. He has progressed so much in such a short space of time.
Your DH owes you big time. I would have thought that his company would have appointed a relocation service to assist you with all that. Oh well the shopping at the other end will make up for it.
Kim - great news about Jasmine. I only went to the GP for her shots and really haven't had a developmental checkup. I wasn't sure if they did them beyond 12 months.
AFM - bit upset at the moment. Got a referral in the mail today from the OB to have a GTT test. Had my GD test on Monday and obviously failed it. Been doing some reading and now I am worried that I am going to have a big baby, need to have a C-Section and all the other risks. Mostly I feel guilty that I haven't been looking after myself properly and now I have endangered myself and my baby. I just assumed that because I was right last time that I would be this time. I am trying not to panic but it is so hard.
Anyway, I'll take my miserable self off and eat a carrot stick and water in preparation for this test.

Back from the Dr's Kodi had her needles & did pretty good. Dr also sent M off for a blood test which went well because it only took 1 try but as soon as M saw the needle she cried & it didn't end for 5 mins after the BT finished. We felt so bad we took her to buy a Dora doll lol.
Now she wont let anyone near her & keeps saying owwies :(
Saffi I'm sure you'll pass the GTT. I wouldn't of passed the 1hr test but i passed the 2hr one fine :)

She also has to have a kidney ultrasound... :( Not sure 100% why cause she has een fine for the last 2 weeks but I guess they want to rule everything out. Poor little Maddi and her blood tests! Im glad she was a big brave girl!

Morning girls, just a quick update. We took Mia to the doctors again yesterday, they said her wee sample was abnormal again but think it was contaminated. Not sure how this happened when she weed straight into the container? Other than that, we also found out that she has hand, foot and mouth disease. All of her symptoms so far really added up to a gastro bug, but then yesterday she come out with really red hands, feet and mouth. So we are in quarantine and :crossfingers: that Tay doesn't get it. Maybe because she has been sick and is on antibiotics she might be spared!
Kellie - enjoy the wiggles, we have been to two concerts of theirs and they are great! We are giving them a miss this year and are going to Disney on Ice instead, which is on early July! I think next time I might look into Hi-5 as my kids are really into them!
Mo - poor M, hopefully the results come back ok. I am sure Dora made it all the better for her though!
Saffi - I know the answer will be obvious, but what is a GD and GTT test? Good luck with everything anyway, I will keep my :crossfingers: for you x

Becky when M first had an inclusive urine sample they sent her off for a u/s to make sure her kidney function was fine & it was. So I'm sure that's way Chelsea is being sent for one.

Saffi - I can imagine how you must feel but please try not to worry too much till the results are in. I know quite a few people who've had dodgy results first time around but did not have GD. Hang in there :hug:
Trish - hope you're feeling better soon :hug: Just when I thought we were having a good run, DD has come down with a cold. Nothing too serious yet thankfully. I really thought it was croup again yesterday, but today it seems more of a chesty cough. Couldn't get in to see our GP today so have made an appt for her for Monday. Hoping she is better and can go to preschool though, it's 'Crazy Day' on Monday, dress ups, face painting, dancing etc so I'm hoping she doesn't miss out on the fun. P.S you'd be proud of my nesting today - cleaned out my whole pantry and threw so much stuff away, sorted everything out, even put all my baking stuff into containers and labelled them! Can't take all the credit, DH was a big help. I keep opening it just to have a look - it's NEVER been so clean or organised! Next project will be DDs room. We moved it around a week ago but not happy with it so back to the drawing board...

Hi to anyone I've missed!
As for us - DS got his cast off on Monday :dance: Am a bit concerned as he has quite a bad limp and is turning his foot out when he walks - basically walking like he still has the cast on :( Ortho specialist told us it was normal and would settle but if we have any concerns over the next few weeks to bring him back. He is at least using his leg and bending his knee more today so we'll see how he goes. So nice to be able to hold and cuddle him properly again! He is totally loving his baths too - I wasn't the only one over 5 weeks of sponge baths!
DH and I can't believe how well he is talking and we are starting to have people comment on it, so it's probably not just proud parent syndrome LOL! He was sitting at the dining table today and had finished his lunch and called something out to us, DH turned to me and said "He sounds like a bloody 3 year old!" :rofl: He is talking in short sentences (ie 'Mum, shoe off?', 'Mum, more bic?' - that means another biscuit! haha!) and comes out with new words just about every day (and Trish - we're still hearing 'Mum, whas this?" about a million times a day! haha. He still can't say DDs name but has started calling her 'Sis'). I think verbally he is much more advanced that DD at his age but it's hard to remember.
Other than that, just plodding along. Got DH home for 4 day weekend so making the most of it to get some stuff done around the house. Feeling really, really prg these days - I couldn't put my socks on this morning :(

Willow - Hooray for no more cast :cheer:! I'm sure L will get used to walking properly again really soon, it sounds very normal what he is doing atm. And woohoo on your nesting work LOL! I already did my pantry a few weeks ago (I'm such a shocker :redface:) and I was the same, I kept opening it to admire my work :rofl:. Same went for the fridge and freezer after I'd done them LOL! I hope DD gets better quickly.

Becky - I'm sure Chelsea's u/s will show all is OK if you say she has been OK for the last couple of weeks. They probably just want to make absolutely sure she's alright. The poor thing though, it is hard for them to sit still and not be upset for things like that.

Poor K has a yucky cough, I suppose it's all part of things atm. I'm feeling slightly more human today which is nice, still absolutely exhausted though. DH & Joel are off in the caravan for the weekend tomorrow so it will just be K and I, nice and relaxing! I'm sure I'll hear "Where's Joel?" and "Where's Dad?" all weekend LOL!

Trish - I did my fridge/freezer a few weeks ago too! LOL. We also have an upright freezer in our laundry and I made DH do that (the bottom shelf has horrid things that he feeds to his snakes so no way I was going near those!!). Have also done a declutter of the laundry (you did yours too, I remember reading about it! haha!), our bedroom, the spare room which will now be the nursery, and DDs room. I need to do the top of our fridge too - I usually stick all of DDs paintings from school etc up there and need to sort them out, it's a mess! I am also dying to get our carpets cleaned but want to hold off a bit longer cause I don't want them (especially the rug in our lounge room) to be dirty again by the time Boo arrives :rolleyes: Going to sit down and make a list of stuff I want to do before my due date.
I also went and did a big layby of all the extra stuff we needed - carseat (very happy to report that x2 maxi riders plus the SNS convertible fit :dance:), cot mattress, another monitor etc yesterday. I said to DH 'Why is it that #3 is costing us a bomb when #2 cost us practically nothing?!" His reply "Because #2 is still using all our stuff!" LOL!
Hope you get to relax this weekend with only one little man at home - Joel must be feeling better then??

:rofl: Willow, it scares me how similar we are sometimes LOL! As I was reading all the jobs you have done I was thinking "tick, done that" and the thing bugging me atm is the carpet rug in our lounge room LOL! I only brought it up with DH two nights ago and we talked about hiring one of those supermarket carpet cleaner thingys! And yes, Joel is feeling much better now, so he is off to Auskick for the first time tomorrow morning then off caravaning with DH :)

Trish - :rofl: We've actually hired one of those carpet cleaners before and it did a really good job on our rug, but the guy who usually does ours only charges $70 for x2 rooms plus the rug, so I'm just going to get him to do it again, save us having to worry about it.
Have I told you lately how much I totally love that we get to do this together again??!! :hug:
Auskick - is that like an AFL thing? I live in the heart of rubgy league country over here so I have no idea! Although DH and I have both said we don't want DS playing league...will be hard to keep him out of it if, as we suspect, he is going to be built for it like his dad and uncles were. We'd love both DD and DS to play soccer.
ETA: Amber - absolutely not!! Language development is such a variable thing! I remember speaking to my MCH about it when DD was about this age. She told me there is no need for concern unless by about 3 years the child isn't talking well and can't be understood by anyone other than mum and dad. Totally nothing to worry about! DS seemed to literally take off over night and I think Trish said the same thing about K? So there's no telling when it will happen.

Willow my dad has big plans for Ds to be the next socceroo star! He is living through my brother and now him! I dont mind! As long as when he does become a superstar I get to meet Beckham lol!

Amber - Don't be worried at all! They all talk in their own time and definitely it kind of happens overnight.
Willow - I'm so happy we can do this together again too :D. Yep, Auskick is AFL for kids. Joel's not meant to start until he starts school, but they're happy for him to come along for a kick, he just can't officially be registered until next year. He really needs an avenue like that, he's such an active boy! He has great co-ordination and I'm sure he'll do really well at it. I know nothing about league, I live in the land where AFL originated and you don't hear about any other forms of football LOL!

Absaloutely Amber I would not even be thinking twice about it yet... He's still only 19 months old, I would only get worried about speech if my child was not saying anything by like 3 or so... I have a friend who could not say anything apart from Ma and Da.... until he was almost 3... Then all of a sudden with in a matter of weeks he started talking and now he is completely normal. My friend went to speech therapists and stuff and everyone told her he was all perfectly fine!
My 2 just happedned to be earlyish talkers ... lol
Oh and Yo Gabba Gabba was brilliant!!! We had a fantastic time! Highly recommend!!!!!

Becky the u/s was only 5-10mins, they checked kidney size & what the kidney flow was like i think. Very quick & easy :)

Maddi has got a cold & cough now. She still not eating much & still getting Io super early and not sleeping right.
We go back to the Drs Tues arvo to get her results, Our main concern is that she may have juvenile diabetes.
Kodi has a slight cough which is starting to make her reflux worse again. Thankfully it's not too bad at the moment.
Me i'm doing well :)

Sickness is going around no matter what side of the country by the looks. Max has the worst cough....last night it was just awful. He has a cold so don't know whether I should take him to the doc about it or not, especially seeing as a few kids we come across have had croup?
Amber...Max isn't saying that much either. Certainly doesn't string two words together (except, Daddy poo....when he sees the toilet!! ha ha). I'm not worried, as he can understand everything, so just figure it will come one day, like Trish & Willow said. He's doing this really cute babble thing at the moment....I'll get it recorded and put it on fb...it's tooooo cute!
Mo Juvenielle Diabetes...eeek! Hope it doesn't come down to that. I have diabetes in my family so if I was to get anything, it would be that. Yucky.
Trish Auskick...how cute! I'm sure DH will want Max to get into it....but I'm not going to let DH force him just coz he's rubbish at footy! DH reckong he wants Max to get into golf, coz it will make him the most amount of money....exploitation at it's best! hmmmmm!!! :)

Hey all! I'm having a very lazy day with just K & I! He slept for 3 hours and 20 minutes this afternoon (very unusual for him, but I won't complain!) and I started getting bored! I was hoping to take him out tonight to visit my mum and step-dad, but they decided to hop onto their motorbike and go and visit DH & Joel instead :doh:.
Joel absolutely LOVED Auskick this morning! He had a ball and can't wait to go back next week, I'm so happy he loved it! He's so cute, he wore his St Kilda top there and when he got home he didn't want to take it off, he wanted to show it off to DH's friends that they were meeting on their weekend trip LOL!
As predicted, K started up the "Where's Joel?", "Where's Dad" thing as soon as they pulled out of the driveway. Thanks to learning from Joel, when I ask something like "Who wants yoghurt?", K will answer "Meeee!", it's so funny :D
Julia - Poor Max, I hope his cough clears up quickly. If it's bothering him overnight, put some Vicks (I use the baby balsam on K because it's not as strong) on the soles of his feet and then put socks over the top. I don't know why, but it stops my boys from coughing!
Mo - Poor Maddi too! Everyone seems to be sick with a cold atm, it sucks!
Becky - Glad you enjoyed Yo Gabba Gabba!
Amber - It's definitely true about older sibling helping the younger one speak earlier. K says and does way more than Joel did at the same age because of being around Joel all the time. I hope you and Myles had fun watching Yo Gabba Gabba!
Willow - So, what did you declutter today LOL! I was meant to tackle my wardrobe, but wasn't motivated enough today.

Julia - Croup is the pits! DD has had it every winter so far, was afraid she was getting it again this time but her cough is more chesty and less 'barky' so I'm relieved. Vapourisers work really well, as Trish said. I've put one in DDs room the last few nights, just to help her sleep.
I second the Vicks (we use Eucy Bearub) on the feet with socks trick - works here too!
Trish - Today we rearranged DDs room, sorted through and labelled (DH went out and brought me a labeller :rofl:) the tubs of clothes I've got packed away (put all the baby stuff in the nursery w'robe...not sure if I'll bother washing it until after Boo arrives, mum could always do that for me...depends how bored I get in the end I guess!) and then sorted out all the stuff that was in the nursery and packed as much of it away in the wardrobe as we could. Now it's just the cot and the flat packs of furniture from Ikea in there. We'll move them out when the carpets are cleaned and then set it all up. I did my wardrobe about 2 weeks ago - haha! Going to go through my clothes again though, have decided I'm going to buy myself a whole heap of new stuff after Boo is born and I am back in normal clothes ;)
When are you going to move the boys? Do you have to repaint the nursery or anything?

Sounds like a lot of nesting is happening. Instead of nesting, I will be packing up a house (like Julia) and unpacking. I guess that could be classed as nesting. Can't wait to get into our new house. I will be 4 months from the time we bought to when we move in.
Amber - L doesn't say much but he understands so much and is very vocal just not verbal. We talk at him all the time, and read to him (he loves books). I find doing hand movements to associate words and pictures helps. I think second children develop speech quicker and also that girls generally learn quicker too.
Julia - sorry to hear M has croup.
Mo - fingers crossed for Tuesday. I hope everything is fine.
Willow - I like the sound of buying new clothes. I am sick of everything in my wardrobe.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragment. I spoke with a colleague who's DW had GD. I don't feel as scared as I was. Going for the test on Monday morning so should know by the end of the week what the go is.
L has developed what looks like a sty on his upper eye lid. Can you even get a sty up there? I just hope it doesn't develop into conjunctivitis. Any tips on what I should be looking for?
