Thanks for that Kris. I do like staying in the hospital and getting all my visitors over with, then coming home for quiet time...and a cry!!! I think I will just have to be strict with who and how long. Good to see youre going with with the 4 boys.
Kaz- how did your appointment go yesterday?
we are doing well today especially after yesterdays effort of a 5am start! I fell asleep on the couch at 9am and woke up an hour later with Becca fast asleep next to me! Olivia is getting such a big girl...while I was asleep she helped herself to snacks! Shes a funny kid. She doesnt like meat and tells us to get it off her plate, however, she will consume a whole packet of ham on her own! Or Kabana!
I have to get my 12 week bloods done and then have my scan on Monday. I am a bt nervous. Am always nervous around 12 weeks because we got such bad news with Liv and had the cvs in the end. I am hoping I am low risk this time again. M/s still coming and going, although more here than not. I didnt have it this bad with the girls. I am wondering if its a post m/c thing? I have been eating loads of cheese or toasted ham and cheese sandwiches...yum yum!
Ok better move....

Wow Mel! That's gorgeous, I wish Pip would do stuff like that, he's just way too busy though ...
Saw the doc yesterday, due to my age my DS risk is 1 in 165 ... he offered us CVS @ 10 weeks or bloods / scan + amnio if required ... we've decided to go non-invasive first off. Am now booked into the Angliss family birthing centre, might be able to get my waterbirth!!! YAY!!! My first appt with them is on the 8/5 (geeze that's a month away) and I'll get bloods done then ... No m/s here either, I was hoping cause maybe its a girl!!!! But who knows ... who knows.
Can't believe Jayden is already over his birth weight! Your milk must definately be gold there Kris!!!!
have a good day all.
-
If you dont mind me asking Kaz...how old are you? When I was pg with Liv my DS risk was 1 in 19 and t18 was 1 in 30. I consider that high! Her NT fold was 6.6mm though and my bloods combined gave us that risk factor. I will be doing the NT scan with bloods due to my past history and also my age....soon to be 35. I had the cvs done at 13 weeks. I had a huge needle inserted into my tummy and they took a sample of the placenta...unlike the amnio which is a sample of the fluid. The proceedure didnt hurt, but after it hurt, like I had done 1000 situps without having done sit ups before. Only took 3 days though to feel better. Anyway I am rambling! Did you try and sway for a girl? We tried swaying for a boy (only dtd on the day of o), however that ended in the m/c. I have no idea when this one snuck in. Absolutely no idea!
-
I'm 38 ... Trev's 47 ... they gave me a huge brochure. The CVS bloke I'd be sent to is at Monash and he apparently does it through the cervix, not the abdominal wall. Wow, how'd you get 1 in 19? When The risk on age alone for 37 is 1 in 220 .. once you get up to 40 it's 1 in 60 ...
Yes, for a girl!!! Poor DH! Hopefully .. not sure whether to find out before or not there.
-
I went to Monash too for my cvs although I had a female doing it and she did it through the abdo. I got the high risk when I was 30...so i was supposed to be 1 in 5oo and something! It was so high because of her neck thickness. Apparently its supposed to be less than 3 mm, hers was 6.6mm! That in itself made me higher risk, then combine with the bloods it came up with that. So youre only 3 years older than me. I wonder what my risk would be now?
-
well that's my baseline risk, before the u/s neck measurement ... i'll check up your baseline measurement tonight when I get home?
-
OK. Here's the brochure : http://www.vcgspathology.com.au/down...al_Testing.pdf
Age 30: 1 in 890
Age 35 : 1 in 355

Hi!
Mel - How gorgeous becca fell asleep with you! Wishing you super good luck for your scan on Monday - I'm sure everything will be fine! Oooh maybe all the m/s means it will be a boy??? You just never know...
Kaz - Geez...I can't believe they are talking about all those tests already just based on age - hopefully everything will be fine!! Yeah at being booked in to the birth centre - I was in the bath for about 3 hours with my labour and thought I was going to have a water birth but unfortunately I just didn't progress to that stage in there...needed something different after awhile - and my fingers had all shrivelled up - LOL!!
All good here for us, had a big day out at Fountain gate doing some shopping...don't think I'll be heading out on my own for a while - LOL! Jayden slept well in the baby sling though and the boys really behaved well considering how long we were out for. I'm wrecked now though and waiting for Jayden to wake up so I can feed him and then go to bed...
Chat later!
-
thanks Kaz- well heres hoping my scan is good on Monday. I can feel it move already, like rolling! Its exciting!
Kris- wow youre brave. Sounds like a busy day. Hope you get some sleep.
-
Hello ladies!!
Wow, everyone has been so chatty!
Mel, yep, we're waking earlier. The last few days Liam has been waking at 4/4.30 but having his booby and going back to sleep and sleeping til at least 6am which is a sleep in in our house! Lily is sporadic with her waking, she woke this morning at 4.50 and wanted to get up. I told her to go back to bed it was still night time! She did and tossed adn turned for a while but eventually went back to sleep. There have been a few days where we've been up before 5am tho. Not happy Jan!
LOL @ Olivia helping herself to the fod while you slept. That's so something Lily would do when left to her own devices! But we have child locks on the fridge and cupboards. For exactly that reason!!! And Lil's a ham-a-holic too, whe loooves the stuff!
Good luck with your test and everything. I'm sure it will be fine. But I know how nerve wracking it can be
Kris, you truly are super woman!! I don't know how you're functioning at all let alone posting here and being legible! You're doing so well with 4 bubs! Hope you're feeling better with your infection.
Kaz, yay on getting where you want to birth!! That's excellent. And good luck to you too with your testing, again I'm sure things will be a-ok.
Look at you all here pg or new bubbas, 'cept me!! I feel like the odd one out! LOL, DH and I will have to get the ball rolling!!!
We're mostly good here, my back is stuffed again tho. Not happy. I have no sick leave left at work and I'm also working extra hour cause we need the extra $$$. I only have 2 wks to go tho, so I'm really trying to stick it out. I will only take time off if the kids are sick or if I just can't function. At the moment a ****tail of heat packs, nurofen, tiger balm and panadol is making it bearable. DH has 7 days off work, somehow his roster just turned out that way! Yayyy for me means I get more sleep when he's home! And even some sleep ins!
Ok, gotta go have a shower and go to bed early, it's a full days work again tomorrow for me!
-
Kel its a bugger about your back. I hope it mends quickly and you get some relief. Will you be looking for a job when you move? Touch wood the girls are sleeping a bit longer in the mornings:) I feel better when they do. This little bubba is sucking up a load of energy from me and I am exhausted most days. I hope it settles soon.
I have my scan in 2 sleeps...can you tell I am excited! I have to put my normal jeans away now because my belly is so big. Well its not huge but uncomfy in my jeans.
Dhs great grandma...and the girls great great grandma passed away on Thursday night. We have her funeral on Wednesday. I have to go get some clothes because nothing in my wardrobe will fit. The other thing I want to know is what shall I dress the girls in? Do you think they should wear black or a nice pretty floral dress? I have loads of dresses for them...none of which are black, or blue! I dont even know what to wear myself. I havent been to a funeral for years. Tis easy for guys, they just pop on a suit.
And my brother had his operation to remove his testical on Thursday. He has a few more blood tests to do and they should work out if he needs further treatment. Fingers and toes crossed he doesnt. Isnt it funny...I was talking to him about the importance of checking yourself and he said he never did it. I mean, as girls, we are taught to do breast checks regularly....but he never thought to. It worries me because I have 6 brothers and I know for sure that my mum or dad wouldnt have taught them to do checks. Mum didnt teach me breast checks...I learnt for myself! I suppose thats because my mum and dad werent open about bodily issues. I am very open with my girls, Olivia knows what body parts are...I dont remeber really being told about them until going to high school...other than seeing my brothers! Sign of the times? Or just parenting? Oh I am yabbering!
Have a good weekend
-
Lil - yay on getting them back to sleep, we don't have a chance of that here. Back luck on the back though :(
Anyhows, I'm only making up for lost time with my new pregnancy!!
Kris- you are an amazing woman. How's the headache?
Mel - good luck for your brother, hope it all works out for him. Do they do implants / reconstructions like with mastectomies? Purple is another mourning colour as well. I reckon that pretty dresses to celebrate life will be just fine, it's wonderul they got to meet their great-great-grandma. Hope your DH is OK too *hug* Yay on feeling the bub move!!!! I have to confess, I did another test last night, just to make sure everything is OK!
Us - we're off to buy Pip new shoes - Betts Kids has a program where if you buy 6 pairs of shoes in 2 years you get a pair worth the average free. So doing that today and to also get him an "I'm the big brother" shirt :) for when we tell family.
Have a good weekend all!

Hi!
Kel - Sorry to hear about your back...hope it's better soon..
Mel - Hope your getting some rest!!! You should start getting some energy back soon hopefully!! Well, until 3rd trimester anyway - LOL!
sorry to hear about your dh's great grandma...Gosh - I'd have no idea what to wear - I wouldn't say it would matter too much what the kids wear...
I hope your brother gets good results back as well - what a scare! It is funny how times have changed with health etc...I think we're all probably educated a lot better now...or can be if we choose too!!
Kaz - Ooh the t-shirt sounds so cute for Pip!! Wow - the shoe program sounds greats well!
Headache is still here...so annoying - am about to go and have some panadeine...I've had so many headaches lately, it's so frustrating. I hate taking medication as well...grrr...
I'm going to the chiro on Monday though and we have a guy coming out next Fri to our house and we're both getting hour long massages!! I'm sooo excited! My shoulders and neck are so tight from feeding/holding bubs...should be fantasic - especially to have it at home!!!
My friend also came and cleaned the house this morning so it's all nice and sparkly...lol...sounds like I'm super spoilt hey?? LOL!!
Ok, going to chill out for a bit - Louis is watching tv and Dylan, Ethan and Jayden are having a nap - for how long no-one knows!! LOL!
Chat later!
-
Thanks for the info on the clothes...we have loads of purple! The girls were certainly lucky to have met her, and I am too.
Kaz- my brother was given the option of a prosthetic when he saw the urologist. So as a blokey bloke he is...he has one! I spoke to him the night after his surgery and he has had a feel of it!! He said its soft and squishy!!! He said they do key hole surgery in from his navel.... interesting insersion points for your groin! I hope he doesnt have to do any further treatment. hes about to get married and wants to start a family....its all a bit scary.
Kris- hope you gt some rest.
Kaz- lol on doing another test! Dont worry hun, I was exactly the same.... i hate those weeks of wondering! I did the tshirt idea with the girls. Olivia had im the big sister and bec had im gunna be a big sister....pity some people at the gathering were less observant and didnt notice it and it caused all sorts of problems!!!
Ok better run
-
HI all, well I have an hour or so to myself while Liam is sleeping. Dh has take Lil out to watch his friends play soccer. So yay!! I considered cleaning, but eh, it's not going anywhere!! I can do that later! Decided to veg on FB and BB and catch up with some emails... Liam and I shared a box of chicken shapes and some cordial before while we sat and watched some ABC2! It is so lovely to spend time with them individually. You really get to know a different side of them. I am going to try to spend more time alone with the kids individually now that they are getting bigger. Adn I will have the time!
I soooo can't wait til I finish work....8 working days and counting! Then maybe a month until we leave sydney. We finally got an address that we aer moving to! I think it's a 4br house! My goodness what will I do with all that SPACE!!! I will need to be a SAHM just to clean it all!! I'm used to my dingy little 2br unit....it will be pretty bare too since we don't have alot of furniture. Poor Liam isn't going to have any bedroom furniture for a while. He has a bed for now (but only the trundle from Lily's bed set!) but that will be it. I'm hoping there are built in wardrobes because we don't have cupboards! If there aren't any I have no idea what we will do with our clothes! We'll be living from boxes for a while...??? Oh well, I guess we'll accumulate 'stuff'. At least we will have space for a toy room! If you can't tell, I'm EXCITED, lol!
Mel, I have my fingers and toes crossed for your bro that it is nothing serious! LOL, at the prosthetic testical. My middle bro would do that....so funny! But I guess it's a bit like have a prosthetic boob if we had a mastectomy. Tho it's not noticable to people for a guy! Only if you ere to see him nuddy! Hehehe, not an imagige you want in your head I'm sure....
So sorry to hear about the deaths in your family. I hope the funerals go ok. As ok as one can go...
Kris, I hope your head is better. Nothing worse than having to deal with noisy kids and feeling headachey. I hope your taking care of yourself tho. If your getting headaches frequently, maybe you need to have a full health checkup. Are you eating and drinking properly? I won't even go there asking about sleep....I imagine you're not getting much at the mo! Take care of yourself babe
Kaz, yeah, some days we get more sleep some days not. But seriously I refuse to get out of bed before 5am. I can JUST do 5am....4.30-NO WAY!!! Lily seems to be back into her normal routine, waking between 5.30-6.30, no more early early waking, Liam is still waking at 4-4.30 some days I can get the booby in before he really wakes and he goes back to sleep, some days he wants up, but not before 5am!!!!! If he goes back to sleep he will sleep til 6-6.30, yay!! Bit sad when that's a sleep in!
Ok gotta go the boy is up!
-
Hi!
Kel - All your plans sound very exciting!! Yeah at finishing work soon! As for looking after myself...probably not doing as much as I should but am feeling ok...Hoping the chiro will help tomorrow! Also, probably not drinking as much water but trying too!
Dh is going back to work tomorrow so I'm a bit anxious. I'm sure it will all be fine but just need to keep my sanity when they're all after me for attention!! Will need to have an early night tonight that's for sure! Think I'm in the overtired stage though where sometimes it's hard to fall asleep...so crazy!!
Ok...going to get in my pj's so after bubs is fed I can crawl into bed - hope you're all well! Chat later!
-
ahhh good luck tomorrow Kris - you really are a super mum and chick!
-
Thanks Kaz...means a lot to me...xoxo
