Kanda I know EXACTLY how you feel.
We're going through exactly the same thing. M is freaking out every time she realises she's not in her old cot. So I'm getting 20 minute naps during the day on top of me and then the nights are just horrible. I ended up with her in bed with me last night because she was waking every half hour. I'm seriously feeling a bit unhinged by it. And of course she's grumpy and clingy when she is awake because she's tired. On my lap right now. I really thought I was through the other side after all the moving and travel but its actually worse now. I really hope you're right Alison. And I don't know where to put her cot. Will save that issue for later. She's squirming!

Hi Girls,
Kawa I've had a couple of friends have problems with the Mirena (I think that's what you said you've got) they ended up getting rid of it wasn't worth the trouble, but other think it's great, everyone's different but if it's making you feel not right and bleed like that I'd get it checked out.:goodluck:
Tilda How you going with the cot saga? Does sound like the WW is probably not helping things either and the moving, she's had a bit to get used to, hopefully things will settle down quickly for you:crossfingers:
Rose Did you have another good night with Liam?? I hope he's finally going to let you have some decent sleep at night!!! That will be my next thing to try with Harry, as soon as the extension is done:rolleyes: until then we don't have another room to put him in, but I'm really keen to give it a go now seeing as it seems to have worked for a few of you girls now. I think it'll kill me not having him in the room but if it helps him sleep it'll be worth it!
BS How'd you go at the paed? Growing well and no dramas with the rash?? Don't you hate it when docs just can't be bothered! Grrr They get paid enough you think they could take the time to be thorough and answer your questions with out making you feel like an inconvenience or like you're asking stupid questions!
Alison YAY No1 Tooth:dance: They are very cute, but yes I completely agree they are growing up waaay too fast!!!! I couldn't wait with DS1&2 for all the milestones, but with Harry I sometimes find it sad I want him to be a little baby for much longer...maybe because I know what they turn into! LOL Actually what you were saying about getting a horror teen after a good baby rang true with my boys (I've probly said it before, sorry if I'm repeating) but DS1 was not the easiest baby and he's been a dream teen!! DS2 was a perfect baby from day 1 and has been a bit of a nightmare as far as teens go, Harry's by far the hardest work of the three so here's hoping he'll be an absolute angel of a teen:crossfingers:
I'll have to finish posting later some ignorant **** has just woken Harry up again FFS!!
 PLEASE LET THE EXTENSION BE FINISHED SOON! i AM REALLY OVER THIS SHARED LIVING!!!!!!
Quickly had Harry 6mnth check today he weighed in at 9080kg and 67cms so a bit on the chubby side but we knew that :p ...and he's not a shorty anymore.

Hi Girls!
Long time no post. Decided to do this one in notepad first. Have Craig down for his day sleep and Ryan playing on the floor at my feet.
Perth girls - Love the pics on FB! Wish we could join you.
Kanda - Sounds like a WW and she just wants Mummy. Ryan's tummy was a bit troubled as he got used to doing more solid poos, but he did get really clingy. I took him to Boot Camp Monday before last and he cried the whole hour! He's never cried more than 10 mins. Turned out to be a WW for us. Hope Sienna settles again for you soon.
Tilda - Hope Tilly doesn't have an ear infection. Has she got a temp? Hope she settles back in her cot soon. Welcome to the world of shoplifting! I can't tell you how many times I've either come home without paying for something I didn't know I had, or gone back in to a shop to return something before they notice it's gone! And what is with IL's? My DH doesn't talk to his Mum and his Dad died a few years back, so I'm glad I don't have to deal with that! A big email like that would just make me determined to NEVER have her mind my baby.
Alison - Yay for Millie's first tooth! It's funny how quick they cotton on to '1, 2, 3!' Craig was 12 months old when we started. I'd never heard him count, then suddenly everything was '1, 2, 3!' That's quite funny about your BB join date :D Our routine should look like your's. Ryan's only been on 3 meals since Monday. He's down to 2 sleeps per day, but they seem a bit longer now. I used to use the one in Babylove for Craig, it looks a lot like your routine from memory.
Ryan's fallen asleep on my lap after his BF...
Brussels - How did Eva's Paed visit go? That was great advice you gave Rose! I even found a couple of things in there that rang true for me too. That's exciting about the merger for your business, good luck!
Kawa - You poor bugger. I'm sure your DH is as you said, just overworked. And no wonder you don't feel 100% if the pill is doing that to you! I had the same thing happen when I went on the Implanon implant a few years ago and I ended back at my Dr's asking to have it removed. There must be something else they can give you that won't have such horrible side effects. Look after yourself hon.
Willow - How you doin' over there on the Northside? Was your egg blue too yesterday? Damn it was cold! I swear Ryan and Harry look like twins, we have to get them together for a photo one day :) How's Harry going now? Has the thrush cleared up? I don't know how you survived hourly feeds overnight! Glad you're back to 2 night feeds now. Will Harry get his own room when the reno is finished? Sounds like that might be the only thing to help with the sleep. ***Sorry, I missed your post where you'd already answered that! I had Ryan weighed on Tuesday 9255g and 69.8cm, so we have a chubba bubba here too :)***
Rose - Yay! That's fantastic that Liam only woke up once. After so long! Did you sleep at all? Sounds like things are going to keep getting better once you get used to Liam being in his own room. I read somewhere last night that babies can smell their mother from 20 feet away! That would explain why they feed more frequently if they room-in with Mum. Osteo Vs Chiro is a personal thing. I took Craig to see an Osteo (he had big BF dramas from being a breech baby with a lop-sided head) and it made a huge difference for him. A friend of mine then used an Osteo for her bub and it helped with sleep. My Chiro checked Ryan out after he was born, but said he was fine. It's really up to you, but I don't believe it can hurt them as the treatments are very gentle (not back-cracking adjustments).
Hannah - How are you doing?
Ryan's awake again.
Carmey - If you're reading I hope you're feeling better after the pneumonia and that things have improved with your DH.
Lani - Hope Jett is settled again and you get to post again soon.
AFM - It seems like I am flat out but the house is still a mess and I have a huge list of things to do. Starting solids was exactly as I feared - Time Consuming! Gone are the quick BFs on the fly, now Ryan isn't happy until he's had his food. Last night I tried Ryan again with a bottle and this time he took it! Craig NEVER took a bottle and I had to wean him on to a cup at 12 months (and straight to cow's milk because he hated formula). So I have my EBM bottle all ready in the fridge for DH to give Ryan tonight. I'm off to dinner with the girls, then to watch SATC2. I'm so excited, the last time I went to see a movie was when I was still pregnant with Craig! Then tomorrow is Ryan's 6 month immunisation and we're off to the caravan for the long weekend. So somewhere in there I have to pack for us all. I doubt I'll get to post again before we get back, so I hope you all have a lovely weekend and we'll see you on the flip side!
:grouphug:

Hey girlies!
Suz, I just went to SATC2 last night - A lot of mommy and marriage issues in thos one - It is a total chick flick but I enjoyed it so much and it was so nice going out with my girlfriend!!! Some of the outfits are ridiculous, but if they were not it would not be sex and the city! How exciting that he is taking a bottle, man, that will give you such relief and DH can enjoy feeding Ryan :)
Kanda, Eva has been going to bed at 1030pm every night lately and it is just starting to settle down and she slept at 930pm last night (she used to go down at 730, so hopefully it goes there soon). I asked the paed about it and he said it is normal - growth spurts, weather changes etc...It will pass...I have had to rock Eva to bed for two night in a row Mon and Tue because she resists the sleep so much, and she tried to even wiggle out to sitting position and I held her in place and her eyes rolled back and she fell asleep - so I think it is also the fact that they are mastering their bodies more - Eva will lay in bed exhausted but not complain, just wiggle and try to crawl for hours - It will pass - Eva is starting to get out of it, so I back up Alison - just count down a week or so and it should pass :)
Alison, thos pics rose took of you and amelia are gorg! and Rose, you take great photos! You perthies look great and the bubs are so cute! It is cool that at least a few of you can meet up in person :) Those are three beautiful little bubbas!
Willow, whoa 9kg, I just had Eva weighed and she is 7.5...lol...They are so cute and good eaters so you guys are lucky - All of that will stretch out soon, so enjoy the rolls - I love those little baby legs and I know they are going to start going away soon, so I enjoy every moment! Boys tend to be bigger and heavier anyway :) I think being in his own room will help him sleep - when is the work going to be done? Have you got furniture for his room or do you have to take care of all that?
Hi to everyone else!!!
I went to satc2 last night and got so homesick for nyc...as usual, but it was hilarious - such a chick flick! I found it to be less good than the last but it dealt with motherhood and marriage which was nice..
I tried the bath chair for Eva and she looooved it but I found it hard to soap up her body - so I think I will have to start her in the little recliner, wash and soap her then put her in the chair to play a bit - but she was so happy to see her feet and be able to see the toys in the water and grab her toys. I'll try to get a photo online.
So went to the paed - Eva is 67.5cm, 7.5kg - I feel like that might be wrong - I'm going to verify that and correct if I was wrong...He said not to worry about her sleeps and her ocassional frequent feeding - like us babies are sometimes hungrier or less and with the heat and the activity of her day, she has some days where she needs to fill up more. The rash is nothing. It is a little fungus that came up when she got sick - he explained that we all have natural bacteria and fungus that live in our skin and when the immune system drops it sometimes comes up, which is what happenned when she got the gastro...he said it will go on it's own but gave me a cream to put on it to help it go away faster..he explained everything to me and I had a proper half hour appt with plenty of communication and answers! I love him!
He said she is growing perfectly to the point that he can tell me how much she will weigh and measure before every visit! So he said not to worry at all about feeds etc, because she is growing perfectly. He also told me she has gorgeous skin that is very soft and well hydrated :) I was very happy to see all was well.
Ok, so am off to work!
kisses to everyone!

Oh gosh, its been so long! I just haven't had the time to post...only read every now and then. I have about 10-15 mins until Michael wakes up so I shall have to make it quick...
Carmey - I hope you have been able to speak to someone about your relationship, I think its very important to. I hope little Jack is well too.
Willow - Oh you poor thing, I don't know how you deal with hourly feeds either. I'm a wreck when he wakes every hour, never mind having to feed him too. You're a champ! And how are you coping with workmen on top of that too!! Gees, I would have blown my top by now!
Hannah - Oh please don't say that, you are a fantastic mother, you only ever want what is best for your darling daughter and you do your damned hardest to make sure she gets what she needs. Try to see beyond those negative thoughts, take a step back and look at what you have achieved. I think you're a wonderful mum.
BS - what a lovely long post for Rose! You really are a lovely, aren't you? I wish you were closer to us here, would be so nice to all meet up. Glad the rash isn't too much to worry about. And thanks for all the bath info too...I might invest in one of those bath seats too. I like the idea of the recliner, but I dont' think master Michael would approve of having to lie down!
Suz - Yay! Thats great Ryan is taking a bottle!! Oh that must be such a relief for you...I hope you have a great time at dinner/movies!
Kanda & Tilda - I have been going through the same thing for the past week and a half. He has been waking every 1-2 hours during the night, either on his tummy, or just whinging....I dunno what the matter is. And his day sleeps are rotten...yesterday only got 2 30 min naps plus a 20 min nap in the car. He normally at least has a decent lunchtime sleep of over an hour. I'm putting it down to WW...but it seems never-ending and I can't say I've noticed much other difference apart from that. I just hope it ends soon....I'd really like a decent sleep please!
Alison - was so lovely to see you & Amelia yesterday! Bummer about t he traffic on the way home, I was driving in peak hour so was expecting to be home quite late, but it only took me 30 mins in the end...not bad! Amelia's routine looks very similar to MIchaels...except Michael doesn't sleep as much! He's been getting up at 5.45amish lately, which is a killer for me...he used to always get up around 6.30....those extra 30-45 mins make all the difference to me! So how was Amelia when her tooth was comign through, did she not make much of a fuss?
Rose - was so lovely to see you & Liam yesterday too! How was Liam's sleep last night? I really hope he's continuing the trend! :crossfingers: I have to say I just LOVE how he is sucking his thumb...that is the cutest thing ever! So yes, lets make sure we catch up once a month from now on...2 months is too long!!
Kawa - Good luck with the new business! So jealous, would love to do somethign like that!
I hope I got to everyone...big hello if ther eis anyone I have missed!
AFM - Well, things haven't improved on the sleep-front. Well, it has a little teeny bit the past few days, rather than every 1-2 hours its been more like 3-4 times a night. I really hope its just this WW and its not some sort of habit he has formed.
Oh, and I just have to tell you all of my bargain I bought the other week...you know how you were talkinga bout smock bibs? I found some at Target marked down to $4!!!!! All the others I have looked at have been over $15 at least...so I grabbed all of them! They've come in real handy too. Tho I wanna go to Ikea to see if they have them there, they're not on the WA Ikea website which makes me think we don't have them here. Anyhoo, will check.
Ohhh...and I'm having second thoughts about my pram :( I've got a Mountain Buggy, which has been really great for everything....except the stupid hood is so useless. Honestly, when I go for my walks the sun is always in his face, so I end up hanging blankets and stuff over to keep it out of his eyes. Its just such a pain. I guess I coudl fork out he $80 for the fitted sunshade thing, but gees. I dunno. The new model is out now (they've been bought out by Phil & Teds and are no longer made in NZ, but now in China), which is much better and they've fixed the hood issue. So tempting to swap!! But the thing is my MIL put money towards the pram, so I'd kind of feel bad.
Michael is going great with his solids! Finally! Took a while to get him used to it but he loves it now. He puts his arms back and opens his mouth, I love it! So far he's had rice cereal, pumpkin and sweet potato. Next I think I'll try carrot and then maybe normal potato. Its quite exciting, isn't it! Just on 2 feeds a day so far. Tho he's showing no signs of slowing down on his formula. :o I'm worried he's going to be putting on too much weight. Hmm. Maybe when I start upping the food amoutn he might drink less.
Oh and he slept on his tummy for the first time at lunch today!
And wouldn't you know it, after we decided not to go through with buying a new car, DH car needed a gear box replacement, my car has a leak which needs the water pump replacing, and a crack int he windscreen. Honestly.
Hmm...I think thats it for now. I feel like I have heaps to tell, but I can't remember it all!

Hi yummy mummies,
Just dropping in quickly to say hi and that I am reading your posts - just no time to write back.
Alison - yay for Amelia's tooth! Jack got his other one today. Do you think that other one will appear soon?
BS - I went and saw SATC the other day, too. They could get up there and do cartwheels and I'd still applaud them. I am the biggest SATC fan. ;) I'm going again in a week with a different lot of girlfriends. Oh, and cute pics of Eva girl on FB. God she's adorable.
Tilda - we are having cot issues, too. Did you go to the doc about the suspected ear infection? Hope you're getting some great sleep tonight! x
Beany - yay for solids! It's so cute when they know it's time for food, it becomes a big focal point in their day. What kind of car do you want? I think we're going to get one soon too.
Everyone else - hope you're having a good night!
ATM - I'm so tired with Jack waking every 1 to 2 hours at the moment. I have no idea; could it be the teeth? The new cot? Wonder week? I just pray that it's not something that will last too long. It's so exhausting and it means I'm not able to function properly the next day. I had planned to get up and go to the gym this morning but that certainly didn't happen.
Anyway, I'd best get off here and get to bed while the little one is down. We're also trying to get him to sleep without a wrap tonight, which is probably a really stupid move, but he busts out of his wrap every night anyway.
Night night! xx
-
Hi Carmey - How are things going at home now? xx Yay for Jack's second tooth, Amelia's is very very close, I reckon in a few days and it will be here, how cute do they look! Re Jack's waking, definitely sounds like the Wonder Week, I've been through all this, it's hard but it will end I promise. See my earlier post for the list of what to watch out for. Good luck sweets, don't stress, just ride the wave he'll go back to normal soon.
Re the swaddling, a girl in mums group is still swaddling her 7 month old and she's having a right time getting him to sleep unwrapped. Amelia's been in a Grobag since she was 9 weeks old, after hearing everyone having problems with it I'm glad I did now - although she didn't like having her arms wrapped and got out of it all the time hence why we stopped when she went into her cot. Try a Grobag, they're fantastic. Talking of which, I just got a new one today, brand new design 2.5 TOG for winter, it's so cute. I've got a couple of Slumbersacs which are also a great brand but I do have a soft spot for the Grobag brand. I got this one because the company were given some of the proceeds to the SIDS Foundation and being Red Nose Day soon I thought it was a good thing to do.
Anyway, DH wants the computer so I'll get back on later when he buggers off to cricket.
Kisses to everyone!

Hi Girls!
I didn't make dinner, but I did get to catch up with the girls for 1/2 hour before the movie. DH was all set to come home early so I could go out, but there was a work drama and he got held up. I got to have a couple of drinks and a few laughs with the movie, then was home before 11pm with my boobs hurting! DH said Ryan fell asleep so he put him to bed without his bottle, then Ryan woke as soon as I walked back in the door. So I fed him, gave him a cuddle and put him back to bed.
Beany - Sorry I missed you in my post! This is a really long WW, I hope it ends for you soon!
Carmey - Good to see you posting :) Sorry Master Jack is having trouble with his sleep, you must be exhausted. Ditching the wrap might mean he settles faster because he's not trying to wriggle out of it. Hope you get some sleep tonight.
Alison - It has to be WW doesn't it because we're all going through it. Thanks for posting the WW list.
I'm stuffed. Off to bed so I can take Ryan for his immunisation, finish packing our bags and drive to the caravan for the long weekend.
Have a lovely weekend you lovely ladies :)

Hi girls! Just popping in quickly, so no personal replies right now. Am reading you all, though :)
Last night with Liam in his own room was a bit more unsettled - he needed to be resettled quite a few times before he went down properly (due to wind, I think - he's suffering quite badly again with it, I think as his gut adjusts to solids). He woke for a feed at 1am and then 3am. I think he would have gone down again quickly (as he did at 1am) except we had a nappy leak. Which meant that I had to change his nappy, pyjamas and sleeping bag in the cold. He was unhappy and I was half asleep and it didn't go well. He ended up being awake for an hour, but went down again easily enough once he was warm after a short feed.
Tonight he's gone down easier, only needed resettling once and hasn't woken since. I have my fingers crossed that we'll have another decent night. I should get off to bed soon myself, though, in case he ends up being up a lot. I slept badly the first night he was out of our room, but last night I just conked out completely. I feel like I'm actually getting more deep sleep now, which I probably am, since I'm getting some longer sleeps.
One thing I did want to ask - for those of you with reversible prams, which way do your bubs face now? I turned Liam around to face away from me a while ago, and ever since he's been cracking it all the time in the pram. Hes never loved the pram much, but he was usually okay for a while in it, and would occasionally sleep. I got fed up this morning and turned him back around to face me and he was happy as anything. Had a little whinge up the shops, and then fell asleep on the walk home. I feel like he should be big enough to be happy facing away from me now, though.
I'll try to pop on at some stage with some personal replies soon!
-
Look at this, posting 2 days in a row!!
Carmey - I'd LOVE a Rav4, but it will be really pushing the budget. We need to work out our finances first. Or win lotto! I'm sure that sounds like a WW...it seems we are all going through it lately. Wierd how right the WW stuff is, hey? Like, its tempting to think its a load of old crap....but it really is true!
Alison - oooh, what design Grobag did you get? I could buy them forever, I love the designs! where did you order yours from?
Suz - you have needles too? We have ours today :( I was crying last night because I don't want him to have to go through it again. My poor little darling :( Glad you enjoyed the movie!
Rose - I read on fb about Liam only waking once. Thats just FANTASTIC!!! I'm soooooooooo happy for you! You'll feel like a new woman once you catch up on your sleep! I don't have a reversible pram, but we did have a bassinet attachment where he faced us, which we used till he was about 3 months I think. AFter that he's always faced forwards. Perhaps he's just going through a bit of a phase where he needs to see his Mummy a bit more? WW book says around 29 weeks can be another fussy period relating to separation anxiety. Maybe try turning him back to face forwards in a few weeks?
AFM - well, we had a better ngiht last night. He didn't wake till 3am, then 4am then 5.45am. So, not bad really, I'm happy with that. Slowly getting better! And you won't believe this....he went down for his morning nap at 8.15am...its now nearly 10am and he's still asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this is what happened with Amelia, Alison...a nice day full of long sleeps then back to his usual night sleeping. Oh I hope so!! :crossfingers:
Gosh. DH has just given me the go ahead to get the new MB Urban Jungle! :o I don't believe it! I feel a bit funny about it now, I was all ready to go and buy that sunshade thing today from Babyroad. but now he's got me all confused...I guess its a big decision and I dont' want to rush into it. They're made in China now, not NZ anymore and that worries me. I'll think about it a bit longer me thinks.
Hope everyone is having a nice day! We're off to get needles this afternoon...oh my poor little boy :(
-
Rose, re: the pram - I remember reading somewhere that sometimes babies feel a bit intimidated facing out since they can't see their mothers and the world seems big....so maybe it was a that...I still have eva facing me, and she is ok facing out too but I like to see her...lol...I am happy to hear about the better sleeps for you and liam - some nights are better than others but you'll see, soon it will be more stable. The first week or two is a bit diff but I saw you posted that he only woke once again! This is great - you will feel refreshed once you start getting more sleep :)
Suz enjoy your WE! glad you had a nice girls night - it feels good doesn't it!?
Beany, I posted a little pic of eva's new bath seat on fb so go have a look - it is not super practical for washing her so i wash her laying down while she wiggles around and tries to roll over then I put he rin the seat and she is soooo happy! Glad to hear Michael is eating well! Good luck for the needles - it will be fine and be over quickly!!!
Alsion, I love grobags - they have such cool designs and colors - but I don't use sleep bags anymore, she doesn't like them since she rolls all over the place and likes to play peek a boo with her blanket (I have a very thin muslin one she falls asleep with then I add a light cotton one when she falls asleep, so even if she puts it on her face it is no prob since it is so light.
Carmey, how is everything with DH? Thinking of you!
AFM another night going down at 1030 - she stays up wiggling around like CRAZY in her bed - not unhappy just hyperactive...by 10, I saw she was tired - her eyes get all red around the eyebrows and edges, so I just rocked her to sleep again - she had her eyed rolling back from fatigue, but she kept trying to waker herself back up and I had to hold her tightly down to keep her immobile and she would roll her eyes back again - this happened like 6 times then she finally started being more steady and I put her to bed still very slightly awake and not a peep until 630 am...I don't mind her sleeping late especially since she goes down exhausted and wakes up at 6ish instead of 5, which is nice, but I am not sure how good it is for her to sleep so late...anyway she does not seem unhappy so I'll just wait and see where this goes.
I went to visit a frind yesterday who has a baby just nearing two months and my god what a diff!!!!!!!!! I miss Eva being a little baby but I love this age so much more! I forgot how much less reactive they are so small :) Eva is so expressive (you guys have to check out the last video I am putting up on FB of her kissing her grandmother - she really does this open mouth smushy kiss in response to kisses or when she is super happy - like when I pick her up at daycare they are all amazed because she grabs my neck and kisses my face - it is so cute :) )
My friend told me I lost a ton of weight - it has been about a month since I saw her, so I was happy about that!
Also at daycare they told me she is crawling a lot in reverse and starting to advance a bit...She has been reversing for a while but now she is really getting ariound, spinning picking herself up on her knees and staying on them but just not figuring out how to advance quite yet. I need to catch that on vid :)
Have a gorgeous we girls if I don't come back on until monday!
xoxo

Hi girls,
Suzi The egg sure was blue!!! Brrrrrrr!!!! I had to take DP over to Woden to the dentist, they knocked him out to do two extractions so he needed a chauffeur lol and there was snow on the mountains as we were heading around Coppins Crossing and on ones not too far from there too, so no wonder it was sooo bloody cold! It's very pretty but I just hate the cold.
How's the TT going? Is he a pro now?
The thrush has flared again:( poor little man I feel bad I know it's my fault, I had been eating waaay too much crap, chocolates, lollies anything sweet, comfort eating and anything for a quick pick me up for the last few weeks and that just breeds the evil yeast for me, so then I passed it to him he has it in his mouth and groin and I have the stingy boobs and tender nipples. So I've been yeast and sugar free for 9 days now one to go, but I might have to go a while longer I don't think it's cleared properly.:wall: We should get the chubbas together, hopefully things will be a little less crazy for me when the renos are finally done...oh please only a week or two more!! But I'll believe it when I see it, at the moment it feels like it will never be done it's really draaaaaaaagging...
YAY for the bottle btw!!! I can't even find enough time to express round here even if Harry's sleeping there's IL's in and out or some kind of contractor or teenage boys  I give up for the moment.
Rose Sounds like the new sleeping arrangements are going well day and night:hooray:
Harry doesn't like the pram much full stop, it's ok if there's plenty to look and the pram's moving but if it stops he hates it, he much prefers to be worn he's happy in the ergo for ages. He does go better when he can see me from the pram though.
Phone's ringing better go I'll get back with more persies later...
-
Hi Rose - I still have Amelia facing me at the moment, I like to see her personally and she seems happy enough, I haven't tried it the other way, I feel like it's one more thing that makes her more grown up so haven't brought myself to do it yet lol. Good luck with the sleeping tonight, Liam will get more used to it. It is pretty cold in Perth at the moment, I'm glad my new 2.5 TOG Grobag arrived yesterday as now I haven't got the vaporizer on the room is about 17 degrees, bit chilly!
Hi BS - I don't think Eva sleeping until 6.30 am is a problem, especially if she's going to bed later atm, sleep breeds sleep so the more she gets the better. When you read all the books Babylove, Baby Bliss etc it says that babies should ideally be sleeping 11/12 hours at night at this age (not necessarily without waking/fussing of course), although how nice would that be! Amelia goes to bed at 7.00 pm (now I've dropped the 3rd nap and sometimes she only lasts until 6.30 pm) and sleeps until 7.00 am - she usually starts fussing around 6.00 am but mostly just talking to herself so I just leave her be and she goes back to sleep. One of my books says if they wake at 5.00 am you should try and get them back down until 6.00 am as it's something to do with their sleep patterns at this age and waking at 5.00 am means they haven't had enough sleep or something. Amelia has been great the last couple of nights, since I've dropped the 3rd nap she seems to be sleeping better at night, not as much fussing if any, she hasn't fussed until the usual 3.00 am ish time - I'm getting better with not going into her every noise she makes but this morning I went in (out of habit mostly) and by the time I got to her she'd stopped making noises and I noticed she'd put the dummy in herself hee hee, bargain! In fact, she slept until 7.30 am this morning so not sure if the tooth appearing has helped settle her more, the one next to it isn't far by the looks so she'll probably have some bad nights again soon I'm sure! Amelia was going to bed later in her wonder week too, she took ages to get down, she was a nightmare actually as she was crying and arching her back and refusing to go to sleep, she also gets the red eyebrows when she's tired but she just fought it and fought it and was waking loads in the night, sometimes needing to be rocked back to sleep. It's great when it ends and everything goes back to the way it was before so there is light at the end of the tunnel promise. xx
Hi Willow - I'm surprised you haven't kicked the IL's out, you sounded like you were at the end of your tether with them yesterday or was it the day before. Do they deliberately wake Harry or are they just inconsiderately noisy? Honestly what is it with IL's, mine are just giving me the total sh*ts atm! lol
AFM - I've had such a busy week, I over committed myself as usual and haven't had time to do anything for myself this week, didn't get a walk in, no scrapbooking, I haven't even had time to get to the latest Pumpkin Patch sale how bad is that! Tomorrow I am going and no-one is stopping me! I went and visited a friend from work today at her home (she works part-time so was on a day off), she has a 2 year old, it was nice to catch up and had a good chat about work, I told her my dread of returning and she gave me some things to think about. My boss is leaving at the end of the year, that doesn't make going back sound any more enticing, I love my boss and it wouldn't be the same without him. After seeing her I popped in to see the girl I used to work with (the annoying one) because she wanted to give me a birthday present. How bad do I feel, she gave me a little pack of Juicy Tubes (my fave) so I did go home feeling a bit guilty about constantly moaning about her but oh well, it's all justified really ha ha. So, to be a hypocrite in order not to disappoint I'm going to do it again lol.....she was telling me today and I'm surprised she admitted it but her baby who's 9 weeks younger than Amelia has only been putting on 35-65 grams a week in the last 4 weeks, she's 4.5 months old and has only just gone into 000's! I told her maybe her milk supply is dropping off (she's always expressed in the late arvos from day 1) and I got my head bitten off.....she then proceeded in the next breath to tell me that her last bottle at night (she expresses after 4.00 pm so she can have a drink or two in the evening!) she has 265 mls "so she's obviously fine"! I said, whoa, Amelia at the most has 220 mls in one go (although she has less now she's on solids) but I said to her that maybe that shows her milk supply is low and she's trying to make up for it with that feed, that's a lot in one go! She's also still on 5 feeds a day so she should be putting on more weight than that surely. She said she's in the 20th percentile for her weight. Anyway, of course what the hell would I know and she just shot me down in flames so I just shut up. These are the reasons she gets to me, she just does not want to take any advice or suggestions, it's so frustrating! I mean, she doesn't even really seem that concerned, her reasoning for it is that the baby moves her arms and legs around a bit so she reckons she just burns it off quickly. WTF....it's not like the baby is crawling or anything, she's not even rolling yet!!!!!!
Sorry, this is what she does to me, makes me annoyed and I have to come home and vent lol. I can't do it to DH cause he doesn't want to hear it, he can't stand her hee hee.
Anyway, thanks for listening, I think the kettle is calling me, hanging for a lovely hot cup of tea, it's cold here at the moment, 5 degrees again tonight, looks like winter is here! Brrrrrr. xx

Hi Alison - I'm really surprised that your work friend isn't concerned at all and that she isn't actually searching for other people's advice and suggestions. It must have been really infuriating. It's not like you were discussing a trivial issue and can just let it slide. There's a poor bub involved! Well I hope she starts to take some notice. It might not be anything to worry about but you'd think she's want to know!!
Hi Willow - It sounds icy in Canberra. My teeth chatter at the thought of it. And my heart goes out to you on the thrush issue. It took me a couple of months or more to get rid of all the thrush on my boobs after M was born. I ended up resorting to diflucan. I think it helped but it took time to get on top of it completely. For me it wasn't so much sugar but a lowered immune system with pregnancy and birth. Like what the paed said about poor little Eva's fungal infection.
Hi Beany - It sounds like Michael's sleep might be on the mend. It wears you down after awhile doesn't it.
Hi Brussels - I don't think 6:30 am sounds too late at for Eva to be waking. I think anything before 7:30 am is probably fine. Like Alison said they say they should be sleeping from around 7 to 7. So 6:30 is very respectable. It sounds like you'll be having to baby proof your apartment soon!
Hi Suz - yay for getting out to the movies!! I bet it was worth getting sore boobs for! Hope you're having a good weekend away.
Hi Rose - OMG what a turn a round in sleeping!! Looks like you've hit the right solution for Liam. Maybe he was really sensitive to your's and DH's sleeping sounds. I wouldn't worry at all about the pram issue. I don't think it signifies any lack of developmental milestone being reached. They just like the company. I usually have M face out to begin with because its more comfortable for me pushing it but when she starts to get irritable I turn her around and she'll have a little chat and giggle with me. It's cute.
Sorry if I haven't replied to everyone!
AFM - Well its been a bit of a hell week. M has been waking every couple of hours at night, sometimes more. And for a couple of days she wasn't sleeping during the day anymore, just 2 or 3 twenty minute cat naps. I decided it wasn't her ear because the day after I wrote about being worried about it she was actually fine and cheerful apart from the sleep issue. I can't believe just putting her back in her old cot in a different spot in the room has done this! We'd been traveling the bloody country side for the last month and it was better than this (mostly). Her day sleeps have improved a bit the last couple of days but I think that's mostly because she's exhausted. And she's starting to get really crabby. I was so tired last night that I actually didn't hear her wake up one time and DH got up to settle her. I'm feeling like I must have done something really wrong. It seems a bit late for this to be a WW fussy period. I would have thought that had come and gone. Maybe its just we made this small change at a particular developmental point. I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do. I'm definitely not game to put her in her own room again at this point. We moved her back in with us when we moved for one reason and another. I never noticed a lot of difference between having her in with us or in her own room. Unfortunately it wasn't the crossroads it was for Rose's Liam. I feel like I already do a lot of the other things that are recommended like routine, comforters, etc. Should I wait longer before trying to resettle her? It's just I've found sometimes in the past that backfires on me and then it takes 2 hours to resettle her. I can't believe it's only a week or so ago I was celebrating her self-settling! The other thing that's worrying me is that since I started her on solids she hardly ever does a poo. It's been 3 or 4 days now. She used to do several a day!! How long should they go without doing a poo before you start to worry? Anyway, I've crapped on long enough. Have

Hi Tilda - the Wonder Weeks book says it can occur anytime between week 26 and 32 so it could still be that, it really does sound a lot like Amelia when she went through it. As for the constipation, are you giving her water? They need a bit more water once they start solids, if not my friend was told by the doctor to give her baby a little bit of prune juice mixed in with water. I'm not sure how long they should go between, Amelia still goes everyday, if I give her banana in anything it will be a struggle though so I try not to give that to her very often.
AFM - Well thanks everyone for your lovely birthday wishes on FB. I had such a great day. DH bought me an HTC Desire, which is the new competition for the iPhone, if you talk to computer nerds they will say the Desire is better, it does everything the iPhone does but a little more and is powered by Linux which is Google so there are heaps more apps for it etc. Of course, I haven't even owned a iPhone so I have no idea how to use it, will take me a while but so far it's pretty speccy. I always said I would never get an iPhone or anything as they were gimmicks, now look at me lol. Well I didn't buy it DH did so it's his fault. I have to say though it's the first year I think he's bought me something without me knowing about it or taking me to the shops to buy it ha ha so pretty stoked! We went to DH's folks for dinner and his sister and brother and their families came, got more goodies, a great book on baby food and some novels for me to read (I love reading although don't get much time these days) and some other bits and bobs. Tomorrow we're going out to lunch with my family (my mum did pop over and see me today). My diet will be out the window this week, I lost 400 grams but it will go back on, I've already had mud cake today and no doubt more tomorrow lol. Oh well, who cares, it's my birthday!
Anyway, best go I guess, Amelia slept a little in the pram at the in-laws but woke with all the noise so she's only just gone down at 8.30 pm which is 1.5 hours later than usual. You get that I suppose, you have to have a life huh. Tomorrow will be the same, we'll probably still be out when she's due her nap but what can you do, she will just have to learn to sleep in the pram again! I just hope it doesn't backfire on me and she doesn't sleep or we'll end up with one cranky baby lol.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
xx

Hi Alison, oh crap, haven't been on FB much lately and didn't see it was your birthday. So Happy Birthday :happybirthday: The phone will be great fun. You'll be able to post from anywhere :DI mustn't have read the WW book very carefully. I feel so much better knowing this could be a WW!
We actually had a slightly better night. She woke a couple a couple of times before 10, then at 1 and up at 5. DH is always so much more rational about these things. He just shrugs his shoulders and says she's probably growing. Any way better go show this girl a good time before she cracks it. BTW I keep meaning to mention you have to try blowing bubbles. M thought it was hysterical, especially if I exclaim POP everytime one bursts. Very cute!

Tilda - I agree with Alison, it could "just" be a WW issue. Re pooing, I've read that breastfed babies can go for a couple of weeks without pooing without it being an issue (it just means that they're growing and absorbing everything they take in). So long as Matilda doesn't have a hard belly and is still passing wind, all is good. Liam's gone down to pooing every 3-4 days at the moment as well, though he strains and grunts and carries on a bit like he needs to (which I think is mostly him dealing with wind).
Alison - The Desire really is awesome. Not that I think you need any help with it, but if you have any questions or want app recommendations, just drop me a line - DH has his pretty well sorted. I actually can't decide if I want to go for an Android phone next or the iPhone4.
argh, Liam is being a bit fussy, will be back later for more persies. His sleep is still going really well, though - the last two nights he hasn't need to be resettled at all (which is very unusual) and has only woken once. This morning he even slept in a bit until 7:30am.

Thanks Alison and Rose re the "pooing". We've had movement at the station so to speak this morning which is good. And her belly hasn't been hard, nor are the stools, so maybe its just an adjustment thing with the solids and its just taking a bit longer to work through her system. I'll keep up the pear and prune though. Has anyone introduced things like pasta or meat yet?
