 might offer her one tomorrow and see if shes still scared!!
Bribery is fine as a parenting tool ;) I use chocolate to let DD1 allow me to cut her nails
No more big spews from Miss J so she seems fine. Had a better night last night too. Sorry got to run - she's screaming!
AJP - at the commando crawl.. Alex just lays there, arms and legs waving like crazy, on his belly and then gets really frustrated at not moving - its funny.
Love the negotiation techniques guys.
Gotta go and get ready for the movies.. already running late..
:grouphug:
tarkine im not going to allow her to crawl just yet!! it was probably just a fluke thing!!
enjoy the movie!!
nai glad J isnt spewing as much!
good sleep night for m last night 7pm-3.30am fed then went til 8.30am. pity sophie woke at some point then again at 6am
Kaz- The book is really good!! Has a plan for getting her out of rocking to sleep, YAY! I haven't started doing it yet though. DH is on hols soon so we're going to start then when we're both here so we don't just give up LOL and we can be more persistent until it works! DD is still in her basinette, almost touching both ends, pmsl. We really need to move the cot into our room, I'm not ready for her to be in her own room yet.
Shell- yeah, even if she just has one big block of sleep it's great bc I just need some uninterrupted sleep!! Aww....ur poor nephew how scary! Good news about the u/s!!
AJP- lol yeah right! My pices baby does not want to sleep!! Ripped off! pmsl.
Pinny- Yay, welcome to platinum!
Ali- The brauers stuff is really a godsend! I will be interested to see how the amber bracelet goes when I get it.
det- OMG definately a growth spurt, what a hungry boy you've got!! Yeah the brauers was good. I'm not sure if she's actually teething though, so then I feel bad if I'm giving it to her for no reason, hmm... well we will find out soon I guess!
tarkine- omg I can't wait for harry potter! I'm so excited!! lol.
mhami- :hello:
Nai- omg 2 teeth already!! what a big girl!
:hello: to anyone I missed!!
Well yesterday DD finally rolled over!! From front to back, yay!! She was almost rolling from back to front for ages but lately she hasn't even been trying and I was thinking she'd given up, lol. And I was just thinking I'd come in here and ask u girls if the same happened with your bubs and then the next minute she rolls over!! lol. I thought it was a fluke but then she did it another 2 times. Got it on video for DH :D
just a quick post be back later for personals..
Lewis just went to sleep without havng to be wrapped!!!!yay!!
the bandaid bribery didn't work:doh:but she's not well....we are off to buy some goldfish for our pond, my nephew (16) has come to spend the afternoon with us...it's nice to know I'm not too old a daggy just yet!!!!
Hi girls,
Shell - So glad that Em's hips are ok and should get better as she grows. Your poor nephew! Must be so scary for you guys, how is he today? J looks tiny in his cot and I can't ever imagine him getting too big for it but then I just put him back in the basinette and remember that I used to think the same thing about it
AJP - Not sure what those iron numbers mean darl but glad you've had them increase. I was given different numbers - 119 at 28 weeks gestation, 70-something the day of delivery and 60-something a couple of days later. Because it was going down they offered the transfusion. No idea what my numbers are now though. Was told that anything over 100 is in the normal range, although my original 119 would be considered low generally (but was ok for being pg).
Heaven - Glad the book is a good one. We had a bit of a shocker here last night with J - he seems to sleep less well the older he gets - so DP and I really need to develop a consistent team approach! We don't have room for the cot in our room unfortunately or thats what I'd be doing too.
Ali - Whoohoo on the sleep in!
Meg - How were the movies? How was going back to work on Monday? Hope it hasn't made you even more tired!
Holly - Hope you're getting some sleep darl and that Ls nose isn't causing him too much grief.
Nai - 2 teeth :o Go J!! DP and I have both had WC boosters when J was about 3 weeks old and both grandmothers have also had it. :crossfingers: His blue book has a big yellow sticker about WC and getting immunised on the front and I've got mates who's kids picked it up in childcare in Sydney a couple of months ago. Seems it has now reached my town too. Might be just a NSW thing though?
Tarkine - How was the movie? Did A sleep through it?
Pinny - Sorry to stress you out darl. I am a long way north of you!! I didn't mean to stress you, but prolly didn't word my post very well. Just meant that if you're worried about L, then it's better to be safe than spend energy worrying about what it could be iykwim? Glad the cough has cleared up though.
OP - How is I sleeping these days?
Hi to Det, RR, Rainy, & everyone else!!!
AFM - J is now over 6kg at 16 weeks old. He had his shots today so he's a bit grumbly but has been grumbly anyway the past couple of days. Don't know what the go is there because he's normally a pretty happy kid. Sleeping less well the older he gets too.
Hi ladies, will be back later for personals, just saying a quick hello! L is teething and MISERABLE! Got some portraits taken last week, haven't seen them yet and going to choose which ones we want in the collection tomorrow.
L screaming, back soon xox
AJP - I hear you on the crawling.. but then Alex is lazy and won't even roll over.
Kaz- the movie was good, but really loud - hurt my eyes. I kept my hand over his ear, the other one was against my arm and he sucked the bbs all the way through it! So the next movie will be transformers! A got the grumps with the second round of injections - all to be expected according to the MCHN nurse that I saw - as they have some immunity already.
Heaven - glad I'm not the only one waiting for HP! I'm going to have to do something to get Alex to roll over.. but he is sitting upright for about 30 seconds.. I have a horrible feeling that he won't learn to crawl - he'll just get up one day and run!!
Pinny - well done on the sleeping without wrapping - A needs wrapping otherwise he's awake in under 10 minutes.. little rabbit!
AFM - DH had his first day at home today - a few things on the horizon, but that's it, so he's on holidays, and we are officially incomeless again.. but something will turn up..hopefully soon.
**have been tryign to put Alex down to sleep since 7.30pm.. and I've wrapped him and left him in his cot.. hopefully he'll go to sleep.. I ran out of patience.. DH hands bubs back as soon as he squirms, and his idea of getting bubs to sleep is propping him on his lap, and waiting for him to go to sleep, while DH is using his laptop and has the TV and lights on...
gosh tarkine i hope alex finally settled for you
glad you enjoyed the movie!! what does DH do for work???
holly  hun hope your doing ok
kaz how is jacob today???
pinny did you get some fish?? glad nephew doesnt think your a dag!! cos your not!!
AFM were also trying to wean millie off the wrap so she had all her day sleeps yesterday with one arm out but wrapped both for last night, normally shes get her arm out within about 5 mins but didnt last night and slept til 5am :o oh my i got 6 hours straight sleep last night!!! she seems to not like the dummy either any more
AJP- Thats great. I wish Em wasn't so attached to her dummy. Been trying the settle twice thing but can't even get one settle in, she screams and screams, during the night tho when she is half asleep sometimes I can sometimes I can't. Just don't have the energy at the moment to just get rid of it.
Tarkine- how did he settle? Ahh this settling business is such hard work, and I'd put an order in this time for a great sleeper! I'm guessing your DH is in an area of work where not many jobs available.
Holly- Its so hard picking which pics you want you'll end up wanting them all but usually $$ puts a stop to that! Poor L, hope he settles, how is the medicine going? Is it shrinking the growth?
Kaz- I think 4 months is a time that alot babies start playing up. You think it gets easier but then there is always some hurdle! Eventually they get to an age where they will sleep well and be more settled. One day!
Heaven- yay on the rolling! Emily will only do it on the odd occasion from front to back, usually gets stropy and wants me to help her. Rolling the other way she seems close too, trying so hard to get over if there is soemthing there she wants to reach for.
We're all still miserable here, I ended up having vomiting and diahrea last night, Df had 2 crying kids, heard him yelling shut-up at them but felt too sick to help, couldn't move at that stage. Ash then we found to have a slight temp, 38, gave her panadol is fine today but she has had a cough for weeks now, its not constant tho. Emily is coughing now and even more snuffly. I have a constant headache. I must sound like such a whinger but I am so over everything at the moment!
 shell, i hope your all on the mend soon, im glad though that DF is home to help you out
shell  hope ur feeling better sweetie.
AJP - DH works in IT.. there are jobs around but it takes awhile to get them through agencies etc.. DH isn't like me.. I have in the past, just gone out and got any job to bring money in the door and stayed with them even when they have been terrible places to work.. DH considers his career etc
Alex settled himself last night - he was asleep when I went back in and slep to 8am. Alex did a poosplosion this morning - went out the back of his nappy and he had it all down his back. Ended up having to have a quick bath to get it all off him!
My aim for today is to make fishcakes for lunch.
Tarkine- go Alex on the self settling! Thats excellent hun!
Shell- hope you all get better soon
Jols- souds like things are going well with Millie! Its funny how they jsut seem to do things in their own time. Let me know how you go on the de-wrapping. I would like to get Ash out of wrapping again but not really ahving much success.
Holly- How did the portraits turn out? He is so handsome, I am sure they look great. Maybe get some of that Brauers stuff Heaven was talkingabout for the teething.
Nai- I think I will be waiting for 6mths for the solids as well. I am not really looking forward to the mess of baby food. Going to layby a high chair though from Kmart for $99! bargain I think.
Kaz- How is J now after the vax? I have to take Ash next week. I'll probably cry again. Is he still grumbly?
Pinny- Hope DD is on the mend now. There is so much sickness going around. Just ask Shell! Did you get some fish?
Heaven- Another big woohoo for G rolling over!!! And a big woohoo for you getting on video for DH! What a clever little thing.
:hello: to everyone else.
Thanks for all your support in my boohoo thread. Feeling heaps better now. I never cared about her size until that stupid MCHN mentioned it again, again & again! Think I am jsut having a bad week because AF is back! :boohoo: I thought it would hold off longer seeming I am still feeding through the night. Oh well, I guess the bright side is I will be able to work out my cycles again in the next few months.
Just dropping by to say hi.
Shell hope you get better soon.
Tarkine- Yay on the settling.
Ali - I have ahd AF back since 6 weeks. Sux hey?
Holly - Hope that the medicine is helping L's nose.
Kaz - Sending sleepy vibes. E is the same. Shorter day sleeps, and waking at least ince in the night She used to have nice long day sleeps, and sleep all night!!!
In saying that, her 1 sleep cycle has gotten longer. She now sleeps an hour instead on 30 mins. So at least it's a little longer.
Went to Fun 4 Kids in Warrnambool yesterday with J. It was awesome. We had such a good day, but very tired today.
ali AF already :o nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
will have to check out your thread!!
as for unwrapping, not as good today, taking longer to settle but will keep at it!!
check out the antilop (sp) high chair from ikea $50 and fantastic!!!! we love ours!!
tarkine i hope something comes your way soon
