oh no nai..big hugs to you.
is it only dd that has it so far?
heaven-your dd sounds heaps like my ds with sleeping. we don't have a fitball. i might have to try that one. how many sleeps a day do you let her have in the hab? so far jimmy is on his second hab sleep for today....
-
Rainforest- Most of the time she has all her day sleeps in the HAB  It is so frustrating trying to firstly get her to sleep without it and then put her in her basinette without waking her. Sometime I crack it and decide 'that's it, she's sleeping in her basinette' but it's so bloody frustrating that I end up giving up!! :( What do you do?
-
yeah i'm a bit like you...i try to get him to have his first sleep of the day in the bassinette or in my bed. i rock him in my rocking chair and then put him in the basinette. then i let him have the next sleep or so in the hab as i'm usually out and about at playgroup/swimming/park whatever with my toddler so it's just the easiest way- he rarely sleeps in the pram-especially if its not moving.
when they get to about 5 months you can put them to sleep in an ergo and then easily transfer them to a bed - i used to do this with ds1
-
whoops havent been in all day  will come back when the munckins are in bed!
-
Nai - that sucks!
:grouphug:
Keep ur fingers xed for me tomorrow - got an interview for a promotion for work (not that I'm going back til Jan)
-
Nai- to you and your fam. I hope you will all be okay.
Tarkine- :crossfingers: for you. Promotions are always good...more money!
AFM- girls! Massive accomplishment tonight! I decided to try and get DD to sleep in her cot instead of the bouncer. I gave myself a time limit of 45minutes from the moment I put her in for how long I would try and settle her before giving up. Well I bathed her, read her a story, fed her and put her in her cot awake. I wrapped her up and put the dummy in. Said good night and closed the door. She cried. I went back within a minute and put the dummy back in, rolled her onto her side and pateted her back. I did this about 3 times and then within 15minutes she was asleep and has been asleep n there for the last hour. This is a massive woo hoo for me
We will see how we go through the night.
-
sorry for my lack of personals
ali woot well done hun!! its such a great feeling isnt it!! i hope your good night continues!
tarkine fingers and legs crossed for you for tomorrow!!
rainy in looking forward to using my ergo, millie is getting too big for the pouch!
nai i hope gets better soon and you DH and J dont get sick
op how is isabel going?
sorry cant think back tot he last page!
AFM well millie poked herself in the eye this arvo and she was very upset about it, couldnt/wouldnt open her eye and it was watering. i couldnt see any scratches but ater her nap tonight she was upset again andaround her eye is a little swollen and red, still watering and wouldnt open her eyes, poot poppett :( spoke to the dr who said to bring her in tomorrow is she hasnt improved, i think millie s going to be the sick/injured child
-
AJP- Oh poor Millie, silly duffer they still don't quite have that co-ordination do they. It'll prolly be better in morning, I know from myself when I've irritated my eye with something being in it its gotten better by next day.
Ali- Its a good feeling isn't it. If you keep it up everynight she will catch on that it means sleep, when I put Em in the bassinet and wrap her she immediately starts looking for her dummy now and rubbing her eyes cause she knows. (Not that she always goes to sleep tho!)
Tarkine- :crossfingers: Have you been practising mock questions? I hate job interviews, hope its more a casual one than full on one. Good luck!
Nai- Ahh stuck in quarintine, hope you have enough food in the cupboard, hope your not all killing each other! I'm just thinking if me and Df were stuck inside with the girls for a whole week someone might not get out alive.
Kaz- Could be true in that saying cause Ash was a bad sleeper but then when she got to just over one she started sleeping so well at night, 12 hours straight and then mums in my mums group all started having probs.
Heaven- How are you finding carrying her in the HAB? Just last couple weeks I'm finding carrying Em in it for too long is really aching my back and shoulders, seem she is getting too heavy for me.
I've suddenly noticed Em's bodysuits are all getting bit short for her now so she must've grown in length, been going thru Ash's old 00 size clothes but can only use half the stuff cause they're in opposite seasons to each other. Didn't plan that too well!
-
shell millie is in 00 bonds wondersuits but there getting too small to also using size 0 :o !!
night night my lovelies!!
-
Yeah those bonds brand I always buy size up, find most their clothes are a size smaller, very annoying.
-
Quick question. When you put bubs down for the night does he/ she sleep til next feed or still wake after sleep cycle? Cause most nights Emily will wake every 40mins, and need dummy put in and patted a few times, its not really til her dreamfeed that she actually sleeps few hours.
-
Evening ladies
We've had a pretty good day today. My theory of going back to pure demand feeding seems to be working... Her feeds are a lot better, she's still very efficient but she is doing good, long feeds now and really only looking for food around four hourly. She's been a very happy bubba today, chatty and playful, she had a few 45min sleeps but I think that at this point that's all she needs!
As for tonight, well I'm about to go do a "what would you do?" thread about our scenario tonight. For now I will say she is sleeping and has been sleeping for a while. Fed around 8pm so hoping she won't need a feed til midnight or thereabouts.
The sleep clinic called me today but all they did was book a time for the "triage phone call" - 16th of June :o Here's hoping we won't need it by then.
Shell - Isabel will generally sleep her best sleep when we put her down for the night, around 7pm. Generally 4-5hrs, but sometimes she does stir a little and need a bit of resettling, just pop the dummy back in like you.
She's also in size zero Bonds, double zero in other brands, though I've started using some zeros in Target stuff too.
AJP, poor Millie! Hope it is cleared up in the morning.
Ali, FB buddy, congrats!!!! That's fantastic, well done little Ashlyn! Super effort. Update us with how she goes when you can!
Tarkine, oooh how exciting, good luck!
Those who are mentioning Ergos - I'm using the Ergo for DD, have been since birth with the infant insert, but I've stopped using the insert now and just carry her facing into my chest. She loves it and sleeps easily in it. It can get a bit heavy on my shoulders after a while but its generally super comfy.
Nai, OMG!!! Poor DD, I hope she is ok  Sucks on the quarantine!
SJ, glad you're feeling better! How did you go with the dreamfeed tonight??
Hi to everyone else!
-
OMG... i was just reading about what sizes you put bubs in..... bella is still in 000.... in everything.. some even 0000
-
RR- we are the opposite here- Boof in a 00-0 and in bonds he is in a size 1
he really should be in a 0 for all his clothes but i am in denial and squeezing him into some of his 00 to get as much wear out of them- just have to dislocate his limbs to get him in them and his knees cant straighten lol
finally zzz now phew- an hour earlier than last nite
time for bed!!!!
-
shell millie usually goes down for anything from 5-11 hours after going to bed, lately its been 5 hours before a feed
laura maybe bella is shorter!! millie is really long.
op sounds like youve sorted yourselves out at night! will go check out yoour thread!
det size 1!! wowie!! glad you got to bed earlier!!
ARM well i swear millie is goiong to be my problem child .... last night it was eye poking, which is fine today, then this morning after her feed she vomitted up brown stuff :o looks like blood, so going to make some calls today! scared the crap out of me!
-
AJP - hope Millie is ok.
OP - good luck on the sleeping! I am still demand feeding Miss J and during the day that can be every 2 hours! However at night she tends to go from 7.30pm for at least 6hrs without a feed and then doesn't wake until 7.30am.
Shell - we are in 000 for everything although the wondersuits are getting a bit snug so I have dug out the 00 ones. They seem too big though! LOL Det at squeezing Levi into his clothes.
AFM - slowly going crazy being housebound! The rest of us are going to be tested this arvo. Not sure why I'm bothering as I won't take the Tamiflu as am BF and won't give it to Miss J either so DP is the only one who will take it apart from DD1. She is fine now - watching Sesame Street and jumping on her mini-tramp whinging about wanting to go outside!!
-
AJP- Oh no poor little Millie and poor you. That would have been scary. Hopefully you can get some answers today at the doctors  Let us know how you go.
Nai- Great idea if you can get to the holiday house at least you will be out of your current surrounds and DD1 wont be as stir crazy.
Shell- Ashlyn is still in 000, sometime 0000 if it is a roomy one. I find like with adult stuff, different brands are different sizing, so for things like wondersuits, in the Bonds ones she could be in 00 but in the wondersuits from Target she is 000. Go figure hey.
RRaver- How was Logan's birthday. Hope the two of you had a lovely day.
Det- Glad you are getting to bed a little earlier. Levi is so cute! He is a big boy but he is the eldest in our group. about him not being able to straighten his knees. Ashlyn has this outfit that DP loves and it is way to small that the buttons look like they are going to pop!
OP- Great that you had a better day. I think these sleep schools try to delay people in hope that the babies just get it before they have to be seen. Who knows but it is a very long wait for a phine call if your baby isnt sleeping. Isabel is such a beautiful girl. Our group certainly know how to produce good loking babies!
Tarkine- THinking of you today :crossedfingers:
Heaven- Yes the privacy thing is hard. I notced a gf called her unborn son DS on her facebeook and it made me think 'hmm are you on BB?' but I didnt look. I am more careful now about what I put about my life in the general sections. It is nice to have this place.
Rainy- I have that problem with DD as well. I find she falls asleep in the pram if I go walking and then as soon as we enter the house she is awake! So frustrating. Hope little Jimmy's sleep is improving.
Kaz- I started to read to DD last night after al this talk of books and she seemed to really love it and it was really nice bonding time.
Ellie, Holly, Megie - :hello: Hope you girls are doing okay.
AFM- Well I think we had success last night. She went down at 6:30pm, woke at 11pm for a feed, I didnt talk to her, look at her, so she fed and went straight back to sleep, at 1am she woke but it took DP and I about 3 times to pat her and for her to go back to sleep (didnt get her out of that cot) then she slept until 5am to which I got her out and it was so cold that I took her to bed to feed her. She then slept until 7am and I have now managed to re-settle her in the cot for her first daytime sleep! :hooray:
I am reading this book called Baby Bliss and it is about sleeping and settling and routines. The author is Jo Ryan and she uses very gentle techniques.
Also took Ash to get weighed yesterday and she has put on 800grams in 3 weeks! :o MCHN said I could stretch her out to 4hours during the day if I want or just do whatever she wants. (I like this MCHN she is more of the approach of if the baby is happy and mummy is happy then that is what is important)! Off to mothersgroup this morning at 10:30 so I better go have a shower and get ready.
Have a good day girls :)
-
Wow ali thats great!!!
Nai -
Ajp- holy cvrap that must be scary! i hope everything is ok!!
