I gave Lexie a dummy just before & it did the trick for 5mins until it fell out. Both my other girls had dummies but I was hoping Lexie wouldn't need one. We'll see how we go I guess. I just don't want her too reliant on it.

Whoops! I didn't realise we had moved! I feel bad posting cos I promised whoever was left I would wait for them. Sorry Dusty if you're reading!
Welcome Seachange & Tash. Hope you and your bubs are doing well.
Jodi, I really hope you pass the rest of that placenta naturally. It would prob explain your pallor and loss of appetite, though? You poor thing. Especially with having Nina & Emily to run around after, too:hug: Wow that Ambah rolled! What a smart cookie!
I've got a dummy for Ted, too, though it is difficult to make him take it. I was hoping not to use one, either, Leigh but you do what you can at times!
1st time, don't get too caught up with Kailey sleeping through. Each bub is different and does it in their own time, no matter what you try. I remember getting in a real tiz because DS1 wouldn't sleep through (he did eventually of course!). It's not worth the stress (although the thought of uninterrupted sleep.....mmmmm), and remember K is still only little. Sounds like you're doing well.
Yay for the smile Rach! It's nice to get something back after the haze of those first few weeks!
AFM, I feel I'm constantly feeding or holding Ted. Sometimes it takes quite a few goes to put him down, too. I forgot how hard newbies can be to settle! I'm worried about getting into a habit, though, and him not being able to fall asleep on his own. I think I might wait til he is at least 6 weeks before trying to put him to bed awake, though. What do you ladies think?
Hi to everyone else x
quegsley - thanks hun. As for sleeping, I personally don't think it's an issue when they're so little. At the moment, Ambah will generally only go to sleep with a feed or very occassionally with a dummy. I'm not fussed, well not yet anyway. If she's still doing that in 6 months time, then I might start pulling my hair out lol.
leigh - dh said that same thing about dummies, he doesn't want to give Ambah one as she'll get too reliant and we'll have to keep putting it back in her mouth. But if it settles them, they YAY I say! :)
lol ammaki - that's ok hun. You got baby brain now, I understand ;)
DD1 just picked Ambah up off the floor and put her in the dolls pram!!! I was in the bathroom, and I heard her say 'c'mon baby, lets go for a walk'. I raced out to the lounge room and Ambah is sitting up in the dolls pram! I nearly had a heart attack.
Lol that is very cute tho Jodi hehe
Queg i too was worried about L getting into the habit of sleeping in our bed but a few people (Jodi being one) have said not to be too concerned at this age, enjoy the snuggles whilst you can, so i am!!
Well, Laila just told me what she thought of her bath, 1 minute after i put her in she farted and pood LOL there goes that idea!! I got her face and most of her body done before the poosplosion!
HaHa Ammaki! Code Brown! That is so funny! I used to worry about DS1 pooing in the bath. He NEVER did til about 2 months ago, then he picked it up with his hand and showed it to me. Eeeeew! DH and I couldn't stop laughing.
Jodi I think it's prob better that we don't see half the stuff their older siblings do to our bubs! Yikes!
Thanks for the advice, Jodi & Ammaki. You're both right. I'm getting ahead of myself witht the sleep thing (and here I was telling 1st Time not to stress about it!). I should just enjoy the moment as it will go way too fast. I look at DS1 now and think how it seems like only yesterday he was a tiny as Ted. Next thing they'll being kicking the footy to each other in the back yard!
Hey all, popping in to see how everyone is, busy posting i see, i cant keep up, LOL. I'll be back later to try for some personals :)
Hi everyone , just a quick chat , as Kane is crying a little, had the twins weighed again yesterday and Jai has put on 330 grams in 8 days and Kane has put on 260 grams , so they are both doing great, i am busy trying to breastfeed as much as possible, but still having to top up with formula and expressed milk , i was pretty down about not being able to solely breastfeed , but when they are prem and in the nursery and not with you , it has made the breastfeeding road a bit harder , as my supply is not the greatest also and they get tired still really easily when they are trying to breastfeed, but they are getting better, so i am hoping that my supply will increase on time , when they can feed better at the breast.
But they are happy and healthy and thats what is the most important thing.
Glad to hear that everyone is doing well.
Take care and i will chat again soon and hopefully try to get a picture of the boys on here.
Cheers Kelly Jai and Kane
Just popping in to say hi, I can't keep up either :)
Jodi, how are you feeling? Let us know how the ultrasound goes.:crossfingers:
Hi to everyone else :hello:
Hi girls, just a quick hello from me too. Took Lexie to the paed yesterday for her hip scan results, everything is normal. She now weighs 4.5kg, she has chubbed right up, especially in the past 2wks, think from all the comfort feeding.
I'm so tired today. DH is really sick with the flu, temps & a bad cough. He's at the dr right now. He's totally lost his voice too. I've had hardly any sleep the last two nights coz of it. I'm praying the rest of us don't get it.
Jodi, hope your scan goes well.
Hi to everyone else.
Thanks guys. U/S at 4pm. Been to the dr's, dr worried as my bp is 90/60 standing, and 80/50 sitting down. Not good. I'm so pale and larthargic, and the bleeding is heavy again. In a way I hope they find something as I will then know why I'm feeling like this. Will let you know how it goes.
leigh - fingers crossed no-one else gets sick. It's not easy when you've got a sick household. Rest up as much as you can. And way to go Lexie on the great weight gain!!
Thinking of you Jodi!!
Hope your DH recovers soon Leigh & you get some rest!!!
Hi to all!
We had some pics taken of Laila yesterday by a fellow BBer, Ozstar! She just showed me one of the pics! So cute, cant wait to see the rest!!!
Oh Jodi, you must feel terrible you poor thing. 80 systolic is low for blood pressure. Hopefully the ultrasound gives you some answers and you can deal with the prob quickly. Have you got a temperature?
Leigh, 'yay' for Lexie's hips, but 'boo' for your DH being sick. Sending lots of 'healthy' vibes your way!
Ammaki, can you post the pic? Would love to see it!
Just a quick post from me to say hi, bubs has an upset tummy and is not a happy camper. He’s def kept me on my toes today.
Jodi – You poor thing, hope you get some answers soon so you can get back to being healthy. Thinking of you
Very cute story about DD1 picking up Ambah, I bet that did give you scare.
Leigh – Great to hear all is well with Lexie’s hips. She sure has chubbed up, sounds like she’s thriving.
Amy – Funny about Laila pooping in the bath, Hudson did the same thing in his first bath at home. I have since learnt not to feed too close to bath time. Please post some pics soon!
When does everyone bath by the way – morning or evening? And do you do it every day? How often do you wash bubs hair?
Quegsley – Funny about your DS1 too, argh the things we have to cope with as parents. LOL. No advice on Ted sorry, I’m still trying to find my way.
Kel – Great weight gain by the boys, hope to see a pic soon.
Hudson LOVES his dummy, he’s a real sucker. If he doesn’t have that he start sucking on his fingers.
Will check back in with you all tomorrow, H is awake now & DH is having trouble settling him. Sounds like it’s tucker time.
Hi i am wondering if anyone can help me work out how to try and post a picture of my little boys for you to all see, i have them on my computer in a file but cannot work out how to bring them over to my profile here, i am terrible with these computers as you can see. LOL.
Jodi- i hope you start to feel better real soon .
I have also been suffering with a sore throat and losing my voice on and off , for the past week or so and off a night i am all sinus congested, Jai also has been really snuffly of a moring until the afternoons, he is trying to drink and can hardly breath the poor bub.
Take care to everyone.
Kelly Jai and Kane
Jodi - hope your U/S turns up some answers and they can get you feeling well again
Rach - I bathe my DS in the evenings so it's easier to bathe Paige in the mornings (too chaotic to do two at night). Works well then she's all clean for the day. We don't do every day right now though, maybe every second day,and on the day with no bath I wipe her face and neck down with a warm washcloth. I wash her hair with every bath as she has a lot of it and it tends to look a bit greasy unless I wash it. I barely use any soap though, just the tiniesgt drop.
Sorry to hear there are some coldsand flus are going around. I had a cough and no voice most of the week but thankfully it wan't too bad and I seem to be the only one who got it.
Ds is clamouring for some food and attention so must run
Ive been trying to upload pics on here but it isnt letting me so i'll post the link to the FB album!
Welcome to Facebook
Try that one!
Kel, I don't know how to upload photos here so I'm
no help, sorry. Hopefully one of the other girls can help coz I'd love to see a pic. Can you do what most of us have done & add one to your ticker?
Rach, I bath Lexie everyday, mainly around 4.30pm coz I bath the other two girls around 5ish. It doesn't always go to plan though. In regards to washing hair, Lexie has no hair (well the tiniest finest bit of hair, practically bald lol) so I don't use shampoo, I just use the Johnsons top to toe bath stuff & wash her head with that.
Jodi, how'd you go yesterday? Hope everything is ok & you got some answers as to why your bp is low.
Twin, good to hear from you. Lucky the rest of your family never got sick.
Hi to everyone else.
Sorry ladies this is the best pthat i can get as when i go into create in my ticker it looks great and when i paste it , it then says it is to long with the codes that they give you, will have to play around with it and try to get my ticker back and picture, but kane is on left and jai on the right.
Kelly , Jai and Kane
Kel, what code do you use for your ticker...try the 'bbcode' no idea what the bb stands for but it reminds me of bellybelly so i remember to use it hehe
Kel, your boys are gorgeous!!! So glad you were able to post a photo for us, thank you!!!
gorgeous photos of your boys Kel! :)
Well, it's not retained placenta. Waiting for blood test results to see how my iron levels are. Hopefully they'll come in this afternoon. I hate this :(
loving all the pics of the bubs, they are all so beautiful.
all is going well here, Tehya is sleeping really well & is really settled.
I still cant beleive she is here, after the heartbreak of the last 5/6 years I feel like I am living in a dream...
Hi everyone i have posted a new recent picture of the boys for you all to see, i think i have finally worked out how to do it, the boys are starting to sleep 4-5 hours now which is great, then i breastfeed them and then top up with bottle. They will get weighed again on Tuesday , so hoping they will have gained again. They seem content, except Jai occasionally gets bad pains while drinking his bottle , but it is getting better.
Kelly , Jai and Kane:p
The most anticpated birth announcement for BB is here!!!!! https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...rived-its.html

Kelly Jai and Kane
Yay Dusty! Welcome to 'the gang' Freya!
Loving the photos girls.
What a journey! Time for a new chapter mummies.....
Hi girls,
Just a quick one from me. I've been to the dr with Lexie today, she's got a bad cough, cold & high temps. Apparently it's a virus & I've just got to keep doing what I have been with her. She's finding it hard to feed & keeps fussing at the breast so I've been giving her a couple of bottles to give her a bit more breathing space when she feeds. I'm exhausted today coz I was up all night with her, I'm used to her sleeping from 10.30pm til anywhere between 5.30 - 6.30am.
Also AF returned yesterday already. I wasn't expecting her to come for a while yet, I never got her back with DD1 til after I finished breastfeeding.
Hope you and your beautiful bubs are well.
P.S Lexie is 8wks old today already.
hi girls
i'm so sorry i haven't posted in so long. its been a traumatic 4 wks. we had our baby girl on 22 July 2010. the doctors say she has down syndrome which was a shock to us as we did not know until the doctors told us after she was born. the doctors also say she will require surgery on her heart when she is 3-6 mths old. with all the appts etc i probably won't be posting all that often, but wish you lovely ladies well and congratulations to all on your beautiful babies, i love seeing the pics and hearing of your stories.
our baby is very contented and is beautiful. our 3 yr old just loves her to bits!
good luck xx
Supablondie- Congratulations on your baby girl :) and good luck with her surgery xx
Super Blondie, congratulations on the birth of your little girl, what did you name her? My fingers are crossed that her surgery goes well. You will be in my thoughts and please pop in when you get the chance and keep us updated on her progress. Glad your DD1 loves her little sister, I bet she is a big help for you xxx
Supablondie, congratulations on the arrival of your little girl. Can I ask what you called her? I imagine that you guys are riding a huge emotional rollercoaster, so please don't apologise for not posting. We will be here, so pop in when you can. Good luck with the surgery and keep in touch.
Qx
supablondie - congratulations on your little princess! Please do not apologise for not posting. You guys will be in my thoughts for when the time comes for surgery. I too would love to know her name. Please pop in whenever you have a chance with an update on how things are going.
leigh - you poor thing, sounds like you guys have had a rough ride with the sickness. Fingers crossed Lexie gets better soon. Happy 8 weeks to Lexie! Can't believe how time is just flying by. Ambah is 4 weeks old this week!
All good here, still getting into my groove during the day. Some days are just absolute chaos, other days are much better. Ambah seems to have a nice little night time routine happening. She lasts feeds at around 8pm, goes down by 9pm and wakes only at around 4am for a feed, then back to bed. So I'm able to catch up on some much needed rest.
Gotta run, Ambah needs a feed.
Hope everyone is well. Loving all the photos on facebook btw :)
Leigh, I hope Lexie gets better soon poor bubs - and poor you! 8 weeks - wow!
Jodi, Ambah is a champion sleeping that long! Our days are all over the shop too. Am trying to get Ted into an evening routine - feed, bath, feed, bed - but it's pretty hit and miss as to what time it all happens! He is usually down by about 8ish, up somewhere between midnight & 2am and then again between about 4am & 6am. During the night he sometimes falls asleep straight after a feed (bliss!) other times he's wide awake for his full hour plus (groan!). Can't complain, though. He's a pretty happy chappy & only cries when he's getting tired. I've ben taping all my fave shows so I can go to bed early and them watch them during the night while I'm feeding. I struggle to stay awake, though!
BTW, does anyone know/remember when leaky boobs cease to be a problem? One of mine is particularly bad. I can place a cloth over it when feeding, but when I get a random let down my top ends up saturated! Embarrassing! Lucky it's winter and I can cover it up. I use nursing pads but they are pretty useless as they get soaked in seconds. I feel I'm always in the bathroom drying off with a hairdryer LOL!
Queg im having leakage issues too! DP finds it hilarious! Me, not so much lol.
Good job Ambah on sleeping!
Im going to attempt to put Laila in her own bed tonight, im sure ill be up and down all night! I went to a meeting thing for new mums today and watched a video on how to settle bubs in their own bed so hopefully that works! We also had Laila weighed and she is 340g heavier then when she was last weighed 9 days ago!
Supa i cant imagine what you are going through! Will definitely be thinking of your little one when she goes in for surgery! I hope you will be able to pop in and let us know how she goes! But dont feel bad at all for not posting!
Hope Lexie is better soon Leigh! Poor bubba!
ammaki - great news on the weight gain! I had Ambah weighed on Monday, she's 4.1kg. I think that's good. I had a look at DD1 & DD2's charts, and DD2 was 4.1kg at 11days old! lol She was such a chubby bubby. Ambah is just really long and skinny. A lot like DD1.
What kind of things did the dvd suggest for settling bub in their bed at night? Good luck with getting Laila in her own bed, hopefully you won't be up and down too much with resettling her.
Our night time routine (if you want to know) is this:
feed, bath, finish feed, little awake time, then wrapped up in bed while awake (but drowsy) and the door open just a tad with a tiny bit of light coming through the bedroom door. Ambah likes to lie in bed looking at the light, then drifts off to sleep. I sometimes give her a top up feed just prior to putting her to bed if she needs it.
quegsley - sorry, can't help with leaking boobs, never got them. I've been going to bed really early for the past 2 weeks, and I'm missing out on my favourite shows!
Laila is 3.8kg at 2.5wks, im finding her to be quite long, 0000 jumpsuits with no legs fit perfect but if the jumpsuit has legs i need 000 to fit her long legs, but its swimming on her everywhere else!
The video suggested to put your hand on their chest whilst they are laying in bed and with your other hand gently tap the mattress, then slowly withdraw each hand...apparently it lets them know you are there or something along those lines.
We dont really have a routine as such, maybe thats where im going wrong. She seems to cluster feed from 6pm for a few hours then ive just been taking her to bed with me, Im going to try wrap her and put her in bed now, fingers crossed! Even if she lasts half the night in her own bed ill be happy. Id love to bath her before bed but its so cold in our house i think shed freeze!
