Thankfully Jazz hasn't had nits yet (touch wood). I caught them from my nieces a couple of years ago...terrible things! I'm all itchy just thinking about it!
I had my first day in my new job today. I have a bit of reading to do to learn what I'm meant to do but right now it went in one eye and out the other and made absolutely no sense. All in good time I guess. They seem like a good bunch of people though.

Happy birthday for yesterday Will xx
-
yaay! will!!!!!!!! i know, soon we'll be talking abt them starting school!
-
so, just wondering about day sleeps... who is still having them every day?
Its like MJ turned 2 and has decided that she will only sometimes have them!
Luckily she will queitly play on her bed, so i can still get stuff done.
Apparntly at CC she still has one, and sometime with Mum.
I was hoping that it would last longer, but nit suprised, DH gave his up at 12 months according to his Mum!
-
Jazz still has sleeps every day at daycare, but on weekends she has started occasionally sleeping but mostly playing...she's cranky by 5pm but as long as she has quiet time for a couple of hours during the weekend I'm happy enough.
-
lakshman has abt 1.5 hrs at day care and abt an hr on sats. on sundays he's exhausted after swim so sleeps between 1.5 to 2 hrs
-
Caitlin still has day sleeps usually around 2 hours per day. Last week she had a 4hr sleep, I tried waking her after 2 hours but she wouldn't have it so I let her sleep!
-
WIll still has a day sleep inf ac if he doesnt he is feral its usuall abotu 1.5 horus but is shorter at care. latley though he has been doing an insomnica thing and is awake for up to 4 horus a night which is kiling us. We have tried baby calm, lavender oil, msassgae all sorts..exhasuted so when he sleeps in the day I try to to
-
Geez Bron that would be killing me also! I have got used to getting more sleep and to go back to interrupted sleep would be hard work.
-
oh bron, maybe put some news on for him and he might fall asleep. how about recording the lara bingle saga. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
lakshman is sleeping through most nights. but guess what?! as my luck would have it, pg brings on insomnia and middle of the night bathroom trips. no sleep for another 2 years i guess!
-
Jesse still sleeps most days. 1 - 2 hours.
-
Bron, hope you are doing OK.
That would kill me.
MJ is sleeping through every other night now... Have managed to get her down for a sleep today.
We have her 2 year CMH appointment today. So excited, can wait to see how much she has rown, Would have liked to go on her birthday, but couldnt get in.
Does anyone else stil go?
-
we went last couple of weeks ago. he's doing well, he's still at the bottom of the graph but it doesnt bother me anymore. it's just weight and height. he's doing so well in everything else. we already see that he loves swimming, the other kids still cry getting in with the instructor (these are kids whom he started with him at 6mths) and he just loves it, cant wait to get in and has the biggest smile.
the instructor said he can only tell if he's going to be a good swimmer when he's 5 or so when they develop better skills. doesnt really matter to us, as long as he enjoys swimming and is happy do to it. we arent going to push him, especially at this age!!

I don't know if it makes me a bad mum but I never took Jazz for those check ups at the CMH. She's fine though. She's quite tall, and has long hair so when I was saying her birthday was coming up in the lead up a lot of people thought she was turning 3 and were shocked when I said that she was only turning 2.
We're having a word explosion! Last night the car broke down and we had to stay at the FDC house to wait for a tow truck. I told her that we had to stay because the car was broken - she then said "car broken. Fix car mummy" Growing up so fast now!
Thinking of you all, especially those who are pregnant. I remember how tired I was at the start of my pregnancy and I'm not sure how you're doing that along with having an active toddler.
Back to the doctor next week for another check up on my thyroid and probably more blood tests. I think I"ll be having blood tests every 4 or so weeks until my specialist appointment on 7 May. I can now physically feel that my thyroid has become enlarged - it's becoming noticible to just look at me. Hoping I can get into see the specialist sooner. Must remember to ring and just check if there's been any cancellations.
New job is going ok but I really miss my old job. I've spent some time training my temporary replacement in my old job. She doesn't want to do it ongoing so the position has been advertised for a 12 month contract (as it was only a contract position anyway).
I think I'll enjoy my new job as I learn more, but the major part of it is making sense now which is great.

Hi Guys, how are you all doing?
Bron, i have been thinking of you in particular, how are you doing, you must be so exhausted
MJ's appointment went well, She is tall, round 75th% but skinny 25th% - but i dont think there are any issues really as DH is the same ... You are right Prama it is just weight and height, not all babies/children are going to be the same as they are all different when they grow up any way :)
they described her language as 'exceptional' but i already knew that she had a really good hold of her words... She has been talking in sentences for months now and has a really good understanding of the words and what they mean... i have noticed that she is using a lot of words like, in front, behind, mine and yours (mostly mine :p) and joining words like the, and, or which is noce.
Only problem is that like most kids she cant do her S, F, C's properly and with the number of words i sometimes have to get her to slow down and repeat as i am not sure what she is asking for... this morning i frustrated her as she was asking for juice but i thought she was talking about shoes (we were out and she had new shoes and a juice, hence the confusion!)
Not sure if you rememebr but there was always a concern with MJ's hips, more from me than anyone else. she didnt have a click, but her skin folds were wrong/uneven. Anyway, i notcied that when she is wearing shoes in particular (and she only wears good shoes for most of her outside walking and bare feet inside) that she turns one of her feet in. Anyway I asked about it at the appointment and they agree, her hips rotate in (i was right) anyway, i have a number to call a podiatrist, see what he has to say, then possiblt other referals, i am inclinde to think that it may need physio or osteo to fix, but we will see what he has to say
I forget how long MJ's hair is as she has lovely curls, so her hair appears short, but when it is wet i cant believe the lenght!
Re swimming - i am with you Prama, as long as they are enjoying it. MJ goes swimming with Mum every Thursday and she LOVES it! Mum taught us to swim so hopefully she has given her all the basics... I take her occasionally as well (but that means 2 tims a week for her) so we dont do it often.
I am exhausted, just cant seem to stay on top of things at home... doesnt help that DH is hardly home so i am practically a single Mum! He has taken this weekend off and we will work around the house tomorrow and then do something nice Sunday... will be good to see him!
Sorry it was a bit of a me post!!!

sj - great to hear she's doing so well in her vocab. lakshman is getting there, but as they say boys tend to do it later. he gets his message across so it's fine. the other day he came into the kitchen and pointed to the fridge and kept saying 'toes, toes' i didnt understand so I picked him up and opened the fridge and he said 'toes, toes'. I took the bread out and asked do you want some bread. and he goes 'yesh, toes' LOL he wanted toast!
i remember you saying about her hips, sorry didnt follow up and ask more. i hope they can fix it. maybe a physio can help with her hips first before the podiatrist.
i have tilted pelvic, and that has given me flat feet and i use orthodics.
the cause of my problem is my hips and that has caused so many cascading problems, knees, feet etc. i really hope they can fix her hips first so she doesnt have a domino effect. she's young so her bones will easily adapt. i wish mine was picked up earlier.
sorry dh is working late so much. is he going to change jobs soon. i remember you mentioning something abt it.
this morning, lakshman was just too funny at day care.
he normally the first kid when i drop him off and he's fine and we cuddle and say good bye. on fridays his "girlfriend" well, best friend, zara comes the same time.
so when i was going to leave his morning, he as usual 'pretending' that he didnt want go to his carer. he always does, but just wants me to cuddle him a few more times.
anyway, zara and her mum walk in as we are near the door, and they say hi to each other.
im chatting to zara's mum and lakshman says to me 'bye' i say ok, im going soon. and then he proceeds to push to the door and open it wider and say 'amma, go' it was so funny. he kept trying to push me out the door.
it was almost like his girlfriend's there and he wants his mother to leave. and meanwhile all this is going on, zara sneaks into the kitchen and starts raiding the cupboard. zara's mum says, lakshman's just a decoy, zara just wanted to raid the cupboards.
gosh, these kids are such good entertainment!!!
danni - congrats on your job
