I smack. Not too often, but I do. Sometimes its just purely out of frustration, other times its coz someone is doing something that could harm them & finds me saying no amusing
eg, Jesse at a power point. No is funny. Distraction gets a 'stuff you, this is what I want to do, so I'll do it' reaction. I try saying it hurts or something. In the end I'll usually smack to show that it can hurt iykwim.
Usually though, I'll take him away. Hold onto him, even though he's throwing himself & fighting & pinching & trying to bite me, til he gets over it.
Honestly...I'm trying desperately to use as little violence/smacking etc as possible with Jesse. He's already showing a violent side. Getting the ****s & lashing out in any way he can. I'm doing all I can to try to stop it. I've tried doing it back, showing him it hurts. I've tried ignoring, but when he's hurting its too hard.
The best thing so far is holding his hand if he's hitting, or foot if he's kicking & holding it still so he can't move it for a few seconds, then let go. If he does it again, I do it again. I don't say anything. Not even no, coz thats a reaction. Thats what he wants. I don't walk away, or leave him or anything. If he wants a cuddle he'll get it, then I'll say to him, you can't hurt mummy. That hurts. I'll get him to kiss me better too.
Its really hard & confusing lol. I like that Jaz can be grounded now!
-
thanks skye..
it must be hard for you managing 3 young kids, mostly by yourself.
I found getting really impatient w Poopy being indoors with him all day, apart from being at the hospital in the morning cos of the blood and mucous in his ear. both of us being sick and tired, didnt help.
it's so confusing, what's the best way to discipline and when you do what.. and when you change your tactics. and i suppose it gets harder as they get older and realise what buttons to push.
so hard and confusing...

Hey, Jesse's using wee against me atm! He has a lot more control over that bladder than he wants you to know!
I wasn't sure at first, but tonight he proved it! He only seemed to wee on the floor, or something if he had the ****s with me, but I kept telling myself it was coincidence...til tonight. I wouldn't get out of bed (was trying to get him to bed) so he looked at the floor, looked at me, got in the wee possy, stuck his doody out & started weeing on my bedroom floor! When I said NO he giggled & pushed harder to get as much as he could out before I could grab him & chuck him in the ensuite shower! Little turd!
Well all 3 are sick tonight. Great. Jaz & Jesse aren't too bad. They have parvo virus/slap cheek/hand foot & mouth. Which ever. Just the rash for them. Slight fevers for Jess.
But Bri...Poor baby Bri :( Tonsillitis again. Sore throat this arv. Temp 37.8. Gave nurofen & she came good. Fell asleep on the lounge early, & I went to put her to bed & she was burning. 38.7, just after a bath. Will have to ring my gp 1st thing in the morn again & try get her straight in. Need abs before she stops swallowing. Need it to stop hurting before she gets dehydrsted again. I'm not watching her go through that hell again :( Poor bubba.
I'm so dead tired. Eyes are burning. Night all xx
-
ooh darling, so hard with 3 littles ones, esp when they are sick....
hope bri cools down soon... poor darling
how jaz's infection?
and jesse - sigh, what is it, with men and their aiming.. just do it in the loo!
-
I think Jaz's infection is pretty much cleared up. She seems pretty good atm.
Boys, lol...

I use distraction with Summer it works most of the time I have given her a few little taps on the hand tho, she lashes out at the girls a fair bit and has caused a few bad scratches so i try to show her that it hurts, she has bitten me a few times and she wasn't trying to hurt me i don't think but i lightly bit her to show her what it feels like.
Each to their own have to find what works for you and then after a while that won't work anymore and you will have to try something else and this goes on and on and on lol. With my older girls they get things taken off them or can't go on the computer or watch tv etc they are very good girls most of the time and i rarely have to punish them, I reward their good behaviour which makes them want to do good things all the time I even do this with Summer but it is not as easy as they don't understand the concept as much.
Well im much better this week I haven't been the best been up and down for so long hoping the good feeling stays a bit longer, i tell you its really really hard being a single mum and watching your ex having the time of his life and finally being the father I always wanted him to be and his family are treating me like i have some disease his sister changed her profile pic on fb to her and ex's gf hugging all dressed up at the races we were good friends and i used to speak to her all the time and now SMACK. Anyway just another thing that is making me stronger and I'm working hard to make myself better. Thanks all xoxo
SJ I'm so proud of you hun you are such an inspiration and such a strong woman good on you for being so positive through such a tough time xoxo
Ah Skye hang in there and hope the fevers bugger off soon I haven't read the thread on Bri did she have an infection? I'll go check it out now. Hope you get some sleep soon and everybody is running around driving you nuts again haha
Hope everybody else is good
And my pool is nearly swimmable YAY YAY YAY YAY I haven't had a pool since i lived at home with my Dad... The girls are going to have a great summer so excited.. And i've been on a mission getting my house organised now that my knee is stronger moving furniture etc. Also hope to be working in a few weeks been offered a job in a day spa and also going to study next year to be a personal trainer wow so much going on :)
-
oh trina.. that really sux. you have been doing so well with all your girls and they will love you for that for always.
and yes, it really sux w ex's family. who knows what he's told them. but then they should know how he's treated you and the affair. and if that woman has had an affair w a married man, whats stopping her fr doing it agian or him for that matter.
and so good to hear abt you becoming a personal trainer! you'd be so good at that!
ahhh and day spa... i wish i could go for one of those.............
-
Thanks Prama xo yes i would love to go to a day spa and not be the one giving haha ive never been to one as a client. I really need to make some money sick of barely scraping by would love to be able to buy myself some clothes or save for a holiday.
Summer is sleeping in Paige's bed tonight now that I'm mobile and settled going to make the transition to big bed she might be sharing with Tahnie because Paige has asked if she can have her own room, they have shared for a long time.
Oh and she did a poo on the potty today was so funny she got a big shock and then wouldn't go anywhere near it haha she was freaked out not sure why she has poo'd on the floor heaps of times hahahaha she still hasn't done a wee in it she has only just started recognising that she is about to do one
-
Lol, Trina, Jesse asks to have his 'nap' back on for poo. Potty just doesn't seem right to him & the toilet is too scary. He's poo'd on the floor heaps too, but God forbid it touches him!! The few times he's got a bit on his foot he stands there screaming for me to gt him. He doesn't move! pmsl!
What I would give to go to a hair dresser, or have my nails done. I've never had my nails done, let alone a spa treatment! Last time I went to a hair dresser was... umm... hmmm...when Bri was a baby maybe?? I used to get my sister to do it, since she was going to be a hair dresser at one stage, but now she's moved away... lol, I'm so sad!
-
hey guys, its quiet in here again isnt it.
All good with us, MJ was sick over the weekend, temps of 39.8C which was a bit scary, but she was asymptomatic, so i figured that it was teething. dosed her put with panadol etc and gave her more cuddles if she needed them.
Well its been 2 days of no nappies and no wet knickers which is really exciting. She is wearing nappies to bed, but the day time one she often wakes with it dry.
i have been taking her into the toilet with me and she has sat on the potty - she has reverted back to prefering that. Its been exciting - i just think about all the nappies i wont have to wash!!!
Loads of tantys here, its been trying but i guess it is a stage and we are just trying to find the best way of working through them... poor little chicken really gets into a state if she wants her own way... finding a happy medium, letting her do things more if is is not really a problem, but then being really firm if i say no - no giving in, i think that i need to give really clear messages to her.
Stringing 2-3 words together now which is nice, it means that i can understand her a bit more and hopefully will assist with her frustration.
Hope you are all well.
xo

SJ Jesse's not doing too bad overnight too. I put him to bed between 8 & 9 when he goes & don't put a nappy on til I go to bed sometimes 3 hours later. We had a night when he woke at 6 wanting it off & he slept til after 8 without it. Without wetting the bed.
I just put shorts on him to go to a friends place & he didn't go for ages, then I made him go coz it had been hours, & half hour later he tried to get his shorts off again so he could go again! He did good...I feel for her pot plant he kept going on though, lmao!
He's a little turd. He has a thing for pinching  He just did it to Bri & she had a winge at me. When I turned around he went oh oh oh & patted her on the head & gave her a cuddle! Must've known he'd get in trouble, lol.
He's saying more. putting 2 words together somethimes. Motor bike, pop & nan, ice block (iy pop, lol) some things. Mostly only one word, but he's getting pretty clear.
Says bed when he wants booboo in bed. Heaps of words, way to many to list. Started saying names now. Jaz, Brees, Levi is Vi, all the families names. He'll try saying anything. Ice is nice, lol. Can now tell me coke & smoke...great!

Geez... I put my last AF in here November 7, Its back already again on November 30. 23 days apart...WTF? Not liking that. I've never been less than 4 weeks. Always regular unless I'm on the depo or something. I've only ever been further apart, not closer together. :dunno: fun fun...
-
skye- maybe it's just a one off thing? this cycle my AF was 25 days when it's almost always 28...
-
Hope so. I'm a bit wierd. I'm usually always the same date every month. Well I always was before. This is the first time I've been close to regular since I fell pg with Jesse. So thats well over 2 years ago. I guess I'll just make sure its actually af & go get the depo. Bit worried about leaving it. Not that I'll get pg with Anth not around, but knowing our luck he'd come home at just the right time & I wouldn't even think of it, lol.
Bugger having it every 3 weeks! Not liking this! I've been on the depo since Jaz was 12 months old, so only been getting af every 3 months for that long except when I was TTC.
I've never, ever had a shorter cycle before.

Hey all sorry have been slack life has been whirlwind here and its stated to catch up..starting with a dose of hand foot and mouth for for ME! and as a result my counts have plummeted and am exhausted. Will has been whinging constantly and its driving me nuts and not coping it as well as should be whilst unwell. AM hoping its a stage becasue its horrible atm. He is also off his food and is living on youghurt tinned fruit cream rice, some chicken strawberries and vegemite sandwhiches. I guess its all 5 food groups but its all he will eat if at all and its stressing me way more than it should. i Have put him on a mulitivitamin as we have all been run down and hope his apetite comes back soon. Cant wait for xmas and 3 weeks off work with Nick he is exhausted too as I am sur eyou all are at this end of the year. Sorry a very woe is me post isnt it just my mood atm. ON up side have lost 14 kilos in 9 weeks which I am thrilled about wanted to loose 20 before went off the pill to try and fall pregnant again so getting close .Hopefully after a bit of a diet break over xmas I can hit 20 before Feb and we can start then.
I hope you guys are all doing ok sorry for no personals tonight will pull my finger out soon I promise xx
-
Hope you all start to feel better soon. That must suck. Hoping the multi vitamins help. They should do.
Jazz is talking so much and doing so well at daycare. The FDC lady told me today that she's the only one out of the 4 non-school age kids who does puzzles without help, and finishes them before the other kids who are 15 months, 18 months and 3 years old! She can also now put all the shapes in her shape-o by herself and is starting to name some of them without help.
She's becoming a good helper (and sometimes hinderer). She likes to "help" cook dinner (by putting the food on the oven tray) and "help" clean up by wiping the table and washing her face and packing up her toys and other things.
Thinking that TTC#2 will still be probably at least 2-3 years away because we found out that we'll be able to buy our own house in the next 18 to 24 months instead of the 5-6 years that we thought it would take... and the only reason that it would take up to 2 years is because Matt's self employed and needs to be for 2 years before any lending agencies will touch us.
Sorry, a ramble about me again.
Skye: how's Jaz?
SJ: How are you going?
Prama: I've had you on my mind a fair bit lately. How's things?
-
oh bron sorry to hear abt foot and mouth.. bugger. hope you feel better soon, hun..
