Bet your glad to be home Bron! glad that you had a great weekend.
Hi Jo, good to see you around again :) Whats new with you?
Well going back to the PP about the feeds, MJ still hasnt asked, its been over a week so i think that its all over.
I actually feel really lost in the evenings, I wouldnt say that i miss it, but its strange not having that time together.
Oh well... MJ has been having her nails done once a week, i have always bitten my nails and i dont want her to form the hait, so we make a deal of having nice nails, i sit down with her after bath time and cut and file her nails and then we put on a nude nail polish. She really loves it, so hopefully she never starts biting (pretty sure that i was doing it by 2)
DSS bought home the dreaded nits over a month ago, i am so annoyed (understatement) at his Mum, who discovered them 3 or 4 days after he stayed with us, she didnt call and let us know so poor MJ had an itchy head and it took me ages to work out what was wrong. If she had of mde the call i could have treated us all and it wouldnt have gotten out of hand, now it is so hard to break the cycle as the treatments only kill the lice not the eggs and so we have to keep retreating... to make matter worse DSS didnt have a follow up treatement so all his eggs hatched and then he bought them back again! Its been such a battle. Most nights MJ sits on my lap and i comb conditioner through her hair to remove al the eggs.
Im so over Nits!!! i thought it would be years before we had to face this.
HOpe everyone else is well.
Bron, i am going to wish Will avery happy birthday for tomorrow as i dont know if i will get on, i have a new girl starting tomorrow so it is going to be a looonnnnngggg day at work tomorrow xoxo happy birthday little Man :cheer:
-
im sure MJ wont bite her pretty nails. is the nail polish non toxic for kids?
our last feed was sunday morning, i was getting pains and uncomfy in my boobs. it's been 3 days so maybe it's starting to settle. he hasnt asked anyway and seems to go to sleep just nestling against me.
gotta run. so much crap at work, i thought it was going to be an easy day
-
Nits are fantastic aren't they? We have them here every other week.
I treat the kids hair every week or 2, depending on how bad they are, just with the cheap pyranel foam, then spray their hair every morning with lavender & tea tree oil. They don't like the smell of it. It helps. Then I use conditioner & a metal comb to comb out all the eggs. I use the KP24 comb coz it actually drags the eggs off the hair, but will pull with out the hair wet & conditioned.
Its fun fun stuff.
-
Thanks clover, we have found that the Moove stuff to be really good, it suffocates them, MJ covers her eyes with a wipe when i apply it, then the shower hat goes on and she will happily play until its time for a shower, then she covers her eyes with the facewasher and i wash it off before the bath.
I have also bought some teatree oil and have added 12 drops to our normal conditioner as this is ment to help as well.
I use the metal comb too with the conditioner. what a pain! I only had them once as a kid, dont know how i escaped them really, they are just awful
-
I know. I never had them as a kid. Not til I was 14 & my sister brought them home. I didn't even know what they looked like!
-
oh gosh, nits sound like such a pain. i caught them once in my 20s. so awful. worse for the ones.
sj - could you put the eggs in a bag and send them back to dss's mum, hopefully she'll catch them!
-
 Prama you crack me up...
Ahhh they were awful, and its so hard when kids are this age, every time you pick them up they are at your hair level, not to mention cuddle :(
-
oh it must be hard, esp when you cuddle them etc. at least w adults you can tellthem to stay away.
lakshman was so excited at daycare yest. they had reptile day. they had organised someone to bring reptiles in, snakes, lizards, tortoise, frogs etc. he loved it, like the other kids, touching them etc. they said they all got a bit scared when the lizard started running around. sounded so cute. wish i could have been there!
-
Thankfully Jazz hasn't had nits yet (touch wood). I caught them from my nieces a couple of years ago...terrible things! I'm all itchy just thinking about it!
I had my first day in my new job today. I have a bit of reading to do to learn what I'm meant to do but right now it went in one eye and out the other and made absolutely no sense. All in good time I guess. They seem like a good bunch of people though.
-
OK thats brithday number two who closed my eyes and let the past year go so dam quick? Happy Birthday my bubbalicious boy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-
Happy birthday for yesterday Will xx
-
yaay! will!!!!!!!! i know, soon we'll be talking abt them starting school!
-
so, just wondering about day sleeps... who is still having them every day?
Its like MJ turned 2 and has decided that she will only sometimes have them!
Luckily she will queitly play on her bed, so i can still get stuff done.
Apparntly at CC she still has one, and sometime with Mum.
I was hoping that it would last longer, but nit suprised, DH gave his up at 12 months according to his Mum!
-
Jazz still has sleeps every day at daycare, but on weekends she has started occasionally sleeping but mostly playing...she's cranky by 5pm but as long as she has quiet time for a couple of hours during the weekend I'm happy enough.
-
lakshman has abt 1.5 hrs at day care and abt an hr on sats. on sundays he's exhausted after swim so sleeps between 1.5 to 2 hrs
-
Caitlin still has day sleeps usually around 2 hours per day. Last week she had a 4hr sleep, I tried waking her after 2 hours but she wouldn't have it so I let her sleep!
-
WIll still has a day sleep inf ac if he doesnt he is feral its usuall abotu 1.5 horus but is shorter at care. latley though he has been doing an insomnica thing and is awake for up to 4 horus a night which is kiling us. We have tried baby calm, lavender oil, msassgae all sorts..exhasuted so when he sleeps in the day I try to to
-
Geez Bron that would be killing me also! I have got used to getting more sleep and to go back to interrupted sleep would be hard work.
-
oh bron, maybe put some news on for him and he might fall asleep. how about recording the lara bingle saga. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
lakshman is sleeping through most nights. but guess what?! as my luck would have it, pg brings on insomnia and middle of the night bathroom trips. no sleep for another 2 years i guess!
-
Jesse still sleeps most days. 1 - 2 hours.
-
Bron, hope you are doing OK.
That would kill me.
MJ is sleeping through every other night now... Have managed to get her down for a sleep today.
We have her 2 year CMH appointment today. So excited, can wait to see how much she has rown, Would have liked to go on her birthday, but couldnt get in.
Does anyone else stil go?
-
we went last couple of weeks ago. he's doing well, he's still at the bottom of the graph but it doesnt bother me anymore. it's just weight and height. he's doing so well in everything else. we already see that he loves swimming, the other kids still cry getting in with the instructor (these are kids whom he started with him at 6mths) and he just loves it, cant wait to get in and has the biggest smile.
the instructor said he can only tell if he's going to be a good swimmer when he's 5 or so when they develop better skills. doesnt really matter to us, as long as he enjoys swimming and is happy do to it. we arent going to push him, especially at this age!!
-
I don't know if it makes me a bad mum but I never took Jazz for those check ups at the CMH. She's fine though. She's quite tall, and has long hair so when I was saying her birthday was coming up in the lead up a lot of people thought she was turning 3 and were shocked when I said that she was only turning 2.
We're having a word explosion! Last night the car broke down and we had to stay at the FDC house to wait for a tow truck. I told her that we had to stay because the car was broken - she then said "car broken. Fix car mummy" Growing up so fast now!
Thinking of you all, especially those who are pregnant. I remember how tired I was at the start of my pregnancy and I'm not sure how you're doing that along with having an active toddler.
Back to the doctor next week for another check up on my thyroid and probably more blood tests. I think I"ll be having blood tests every 4 or so weeks until my specialist appointment on 7 May. I can now physically feel that my thyroid has become enlarged - it's becoming noticible to just look at me. Hoping I can get into see the specialist sooner. Must remember to ring and just check if there's been any cancellations.
New job is going ok but I really miss my old job. I've spent some time training my temporary replacement in my old job. She doesn't want to do it ongoing so the position has been advertised for a 12 month contract (as it was only a contract position anyway).
I think I'll enjoy my new job as I learn more, but the major part of it is making sense now which is great.
-
Hi Guys, how are you all doing?
Bron, i have been thinking of you in particular, how are you doing, you must be so exhausted
MJ's appointment went well, She is tall, round 75th% but skinny 25th% - but i dont think there are any issues really as DH is the same ... You are right Prama it is just weight and height, not all babies/children are going to be the same as they are all different when they grow up any way :)
they described her language as 'exceptional' but i already knew that she had a really good hold of her words... She has been talking in sentences for months now and has a really good understanding of the words and what they mean... i have noticed that she is using a lot of words like, in front, behind, mine and yours (mostly mine :p) and joining words like the, and, or which is noce.
Only problem is that like most kids she cant do her S, F, C's properly and with the number of words i sometimes have to get her to slow down and repeat as i am not sure what she is asking for... this morning i frustrated her as she was asking for juice but i thought she was talking about shoes (we were out and she had new shoes and a juice, hence the confusion!)
Not sure if you rememebr but there was always a concern with MJ's hips, more from me than anyone else. she didnt have a click, but her skin folds were wrong/uneven. Anyway, i notcied that when she is wearing shoes in particular (and she only wears good shoes for most of her outside walking and bare feet inside) that she turns one of her feet in. Anyway I asked about it at the appointment and they agree, her hips rotate in (i was right) anyway, i have a number to call a podiatrist, see what he has to say, then possiblt other referals, i am inclinde to think that it may need physio or osteo to fix, but we will see what he has to say
I forget how long MJ's hair is as she has lovely curls, so her hair appears short, but when it is wet i cant believe the lenght!
Re swimming - i am with you Prama, as long as they are enjoying it. MJ goes swimming with Mum every Thursday and she LOVES it! Mum taught us to swim so hopefully she has given her all the basics... I take her occasionally as well (but that means 2 tims a week for her) so we dont do it often.
I am exhausted, just cant seem to stay on top of things at home... doesnt help that DH is hardly home so i am practically a single Mum! He has taken this weekend off and we will work around the house tomorrow and then do something nice Sunday... will be good to see him!
Sorry it was a bit of a me post!!!

-
sj - great to hear she's doing so well in her vocab. lakshman is getting there, but as they say boys tend to do it later. he gets his message across so it's fine. the other day he came into the kitchen and pointed to the fridge and kept saying 'toes, toes' i didnt understand so I picked him up and opened the fridge and he said 'toes, toes'. I took the bread out and asked do you want some bread. and he goes 'yesh, toes' LOL he wanted toast!
i remember you saying about her hips, sorry didnt follow up and ask more. i hope they can fix it. maybe a physio can help with her hips first before the podiatrist.
i have tilted pelvic, and that has given me flat feet and i use orthodics.
the cause of my problem is my hips and that has caused so many cascading problems, knees, feet etc. i really hope they can fix her hips first so she doesnt have a domino effect. she's young so her bones will easily adapt. i wish mine was picked up earlier.
sorry dh is working late so much. is he going to change jobs soon. i remember you mentioning something abt it.
this morning, lakshman was just too funny at day care.
he normally the first kid when i drop him off and he's fine and we cuddle and say good bye. on fridays his "girlfriend" well, best friend, zara comes the same time.
so when i was going to leave his morning, he as usual 'pretending' that he didnt want go to his carer. he always does, but just wants me to cuddle him a few more times.
anyway, zara and her mum walk in as we are near the door, and they say hi to each other.
im chatting to zara's mum and lakshman says to me 'bye' i say ok, im going soon. and then he proceeds to push to the door and open it wider and say 'amma, go' it was so funny. he kept trying to push me out the door.
it was almost like his girlfriend's there and he wants his mother to leave. and meanwhile all this is going on, zara sneaks into the kitchen and starts raiding the cupboard. zara's mum says, lakshman's just a decoy, zara just wanted to raid the cupboards.
gosh, these kids are such good entertainment!!!
danni - congrats on your job
-
Happy Birthday Prama, hope you had a fantastic day xoxoxo
-
-
thanks so much girls. we had a good day, despite it was about 32 deg!
-
I'm late I know but happy birthday, glad you had a good day xx
-
-
Sorry for missing the birthdays so slack of me but happy late birthday Prama and Will :)
Summer sometimes has a day sleep it is a real catch 22 at the moment tho cos if she sleeps it's usually after lunch then she stays up late at night which isn't good it's been hard since she was moved into a big bed she is bit harder to get to sleep when she was in the cot she would go lay quietly and self settle herself to sleep those days are gone
I haven't taken her to the ECN for ages either might take her soon tho, I'm not concerned about anything so haven't bothered.
As you all know I had an incident with Dave and it wasn't pretty so I have been hiding away for all my bruises and injuries to go got my very first black eye and plan on it being the last...
So now feeling much better thank goodness for my Mum she came to my rescue again and now am feeling much better within myself.
I was reading the paper and found a job in there for laser so thought i would have a snoop and call adn they were keen to see me for an interview asap anyway had the worst possible job interview (had to take summer and paige) Summer screamed and was having a tanty the whole time and it was rather embarassing but even through all that I got the job and they said i can work whatever days/times i want WOO HOO!!! Even childcare has fallen into place so it was meant to be.
SJ Molly Jane is soooo cute love the make-up pics
How are the two lovely preggo Mummies going? Hope you are all doing ok :)
And of course hope everybody else is good
-
trina - im so sorry you had to endure all that from dave. no one deserves that. what a jerk. did he get arrested then?
glad you got the job! you would have impressed them nevertheless!
will look up mj's pictures when i get home, are they on FB?
-
Hey guys.
Congrats on the job Trina. Great that they saw past the kids & hired you :)
I'm still feeling like crap. Back pain already. Pelvis is sarting to ache on odd occasions & ms is still pretty bad. Lost 5 kgs though. I guess thats a bonus, lol.
So tired. I'm sleeping almost every day & in bed by 9 most nights & still so tired.
Anyway. Anth has a job now. Dunno if I mentioned it. I really can't remember. He's only on call at the moment, but hopefully it'll pick up soon.
Well...I'm needing the loo again. Great. Hope you are all well xx
-
hi hun, sorry you're feeling yucky. my body hurts too and cant get comfortable sleeping at night. am so tired.
how are things with anth. hope you can sort things out. if he's being unkind, you shouldnt have to put up with it.. even if you are pg. xoxox
-
I know Prama. We're just kind of ignoring it at the moment. Both of us.
I just don't know what I want most of the time, but other times I do want him out. He is kind of helping me out, but loosing patience fast. He's sick of me not being able to do much. Not that he's getting off his arse much. He's done a few things to help, but he won't take over for me, even though he's not doing anything else.
I can't tell him how I feel. It sux. I haven't been keeping much food down, so I have no energy. I feel like I'm going to pass out all the time. I'm pretty sure I'm dehydrated, but can't do anything about it. Except try to keep fluids down.
I try to wash up & cook tea everyday & thats hard. I do get up & get the kids out the door every morning.
I still think every day what an idiot I am for letting this happen. Not just coz of the problems with him, but coz I feel the way I do. This is why I wasn't going to have anymore. At least not for a lot of years. Coz I have such a hard time trying to look after the other kids. They are suffering coz of it.
Anyway. Sorry guys. having a hard time still.
-
oh hun, dont blame yourself for this, it's not your fault. and if you do, bub will pick up your vibrations and feel that it's not wanted. and you dont wanted that...
i think it's unfair of him to expect you to do so much when you have 3 kids to look after and being pg; if he's at home not working and expecting you do all the work. even if you do the housework, he can take the kids off your hands and look after them.
are you able to cook extra and have leftovers for a couple of days?
i know how hard it is when you are so tired and feeling so sick and having to cook. and the thought of food makes you sick.
can jaz and bri help with the chores?
take care, hun. xoox
-
Trina, so sorry to hear about what happened with Dave. I hope you heal quickly. Really great news about the job though, it's great they're being flexible for you too. It's so good having a flexible employer.
Clover, glad to hear Anth has a job. I hope this one will be a long term one and pay properly.
Hope everyone else is going ok.
I'm settling into my job and feeling a bit more comfortable with things, but still so much to learn. Apparently it'll probably take a full 12 months before I have a full grasp of the cycles of the job.
I'm looking forward to a special day off tomorrow though ;-)
-
Have a great birthday Danni.
Things are crap here..crap crap crap. We wait today to see if Nick still has a job as it looks like the company he works for are going under. If they do our last pay day will be next Tuesday. -
bron
biggest hugs to you hun..
so sorry things are not good at the moment. i hope nick can find something else soon. it really sux.
dont feel too bad about counselling, it can be a blessing in disguise. it's a positive thing and it will help both of you understand each other better. steve revealed things that he would/couldnt say outright to me. and it helped him see it and help me understand him and it was the same for him. it made him understand things about me and where i was coming from.
we get so lost in our day to day stuff and esp with a child, you dont have time to really listen to each other. it will help make things better before #2 comes and hopefully understand the stress each of you face when you have a child, something steve and i learnt the hard way when lakshman came.
did they say why will is waking up at night? what kind of meds is he on?
we're going to go to the zigzag railway on tuesday. if you are thereabouts, would be great to catch up xoxoxo
Happy Birthday danni!!!! have a good one
