OMG, OMG, OMG - what is giving this baby wind and why wont she freaking sleep at night?? I'm going to lose it soon....my head feels like it's going to explode and I cant keep my eyes open when I'm on the couch with her!!!
I'm that desperate for sleep I just leave her attached to my boob and put my head back and sleep that way, even then it's only for about an hour or so and I wake up with a broken neck....why is this so hard????
I hate not being organised before DH goes to work...I like to have a shower and be dressed for the day and have JD fed and dealt with a bit but I just couldnt get it together this morning...I was passed out on the lounge in the upright position with Abbey on me and JD watching a DVD already and it was only 8:15am....poor neglected boy....
I had no chocolate whatsoever yesterday in the hope that she'd have a better night but didnt seem to help....I have a very limited diet as I'm super fussy so it's not like I'm eating a wide range of things so nothing's changed to make it worse or anything??
Sorry for the whinge and I hope everyone had a better night than me....
-
just wanted to give you hugs..my kids get put in front of the telly all the time...i usually put the wii or playstations on so i figure it helps there coordernation lol
-
Shayna - Have you tried any wind remedy? Brauers one, or infants friend, or infacol or gripe water? We are having issues with wind here too, so we are using infacol and gripe water if it gets really bad.
Oh and in the early days its ok to rely on tv - whatever gets you through the day babe!
Tygress - yup FF babies need water but I think DS wouldn't take any till he was a few months old. I'm pretty sure I tried from when he was 4 weeks old though - just 5 or 10ml at a time - cos he was born in the middle of the queensland summer. DD1 was born in winter so I don't think she got any until closer to summer.
-
Hi Ubba - that's been Amelia the past few days!!!!!! I'm thinking growth spurt?? Although she did sleep 5 hours in a row last night, what a shock but I'm not complaining!
Hi Shayna, big hugs to you - definitely try Infants Friend, my friend swears by that stuff. You need to get some sleep, can you get someone to FF for a bit so you can have a rest. I do it when I'm desperate!
-
DJsMum, you poor thing!!! i agree you should try somthing for her wind it might help! i used gripe water for the other two at night and it really helped. good luck, hope you can get her settled soon.
-
sorry no help here never had wind problems...Serenity slept 7hrs straight last night, loving the night FF then i only did boobie so she was up in a couple hours, have to remember not to be slack and get up and give her a bottle so she sleeps another good stretch...weve had more puking problems, she doess fine with ff but pukes alot when bf, anyone have any ideas, once shes puked shes fine but it doesnt seem like she can control it
-
Hi Mon - go the FF top ups LOL! I have no choice to do them these days, I have a little piggy poo on my hands! I did get 5 hours though and that was after a BF last night so happy about that! Amelia has only thrown up her milk twice and both was on formula after a top up so obviously had a little too much. Maybe she's guzzling the breast milk quicker than the bottle?
-
jd's mum big vbig hugs  argh isn't wind just terrible?? DD used to get it something SHOCKING and wanted to live on the boob, which only made it worse. Definately give the infacol or what not a go and see if it works. i hope you have a better night tonight. don't feel bad about the dvd at 8:15 either, i've had quite a few of those mornings! i even had a few towards the end of the pregnancy, haha. you're doing a great job!
Argh i had such a crappy night last night, and it wasn't even theo! kaili woke at 3:30 and i could not get her back to sleep. i put her in bed with us and she was a little turd. Theo then woke at 430 and she was in there helping me change his bum and feed him. he finally went back to sleep, then she was finally down again at 630
ahhh theo's awaak
love yas all

Crap night here too we were driving around the neighbourhood at 1am, screaming all the way...then a good couple of sleeps from about 2 till 10 then more screaming...Wondering if this is a new developmental stage or something...
I asked dh if he was looking forward to going back to work so he could leave us and get some peace and I started crying haha...I think im really going to miss his help and company...Im going to have to seek other ppl out soon because ill feel so lonely..
poor me lol.....

Hello ladies!
I think all our babies have plotted against the lot of us!!! Haha!
Archie is the same with the day sleeping! He'll only sleep in my arms and when i try to put him down he wakes up crying! So yesterday i slept on the couch with him in my arms for three hours! We are still co-sleeping at night though so he sleeps really well. Only wakes two or three times for a feed and i change him once and then we just fall straight back to sleep, thank goodness!
JDsmum: Don't stress about JD watching too much telly! Give yourself time. My DD got the box set of Mcleods Daughters for Xmas and all she has done since is sit in her room and watch that since! I feel bad too! But in the grand scheme of things it is only a few months out of thier lives and once we all settle into a routine things will get better for the older ones too. Bigs hugs to you.. Archie has had a bad tummy a few times and the Brauer Colic Relief worked really well for him.
Has anyone got AF yet?? I am wondering if i had a visit from her yesterday.... I have been feeling a bit crampy and although i never really stopped bleeding since the birth it has suddenly got darker today (sorry if TMI) and last night (TMI, TMI!) we DTD and i had clots!! Is that normal!!!??? I was rather concerned as it was quite alot. Archie is fully Bf'd but DD was fully BF'd and i bled for 3 weeks after her birth and i got AF exactly four weeks after. So i don't know whether it is just AF or something more sinister.....
Been really hot in perth and Archie has bad heat rash, poor little poppet.
Did i mention i wanna have another baby!? I really really do!! DH not so keen though, although didn't seem too concerned last night..... hahaha!
Have a great day ladies!!!
PS: Love you too Telly!

Hi Kymmy - I thought you didn't get AF while BF'ing or am I stupid? I thought it prevented ovulation but what would I know ha ha! Not sure of the clots, that sounds a bit yukko, can you ring your midwife and ask her? We haven't DTD yet, I can't until after 6 weeks apparently, am a bit nervous as it's been so long. Poor DH, we realised the other day it's been 6 months since we DTD last ha ha! We both found it too weird in the end. How how is it in Perth, I haven't left the airconditioning today at all! Millie had a bit of a heat rash on her belly yesterday but it went pretty quickly. Can you wear your wedding rings yet? I can get them past my knuckles but no further without it hurting, will my fingers ever go down so I can wear them again!
Hi Natty - sorry you had a crap night, hope tonight is better for you. Might be another growth spurt for V.
Hi Telly - hope you have a better night tonight as well!
I made an appointment at the OT for next week, my back and shoulders are killing from feeding, haven't been since before Amelia and can't wait!
-
Kymmy I started bleeding heavily again last week with lots of clots, sorry TMI!!. After going to the clinic for James today I was told to go straight to my ob. Now I am having ultrasound tomorrow and have been told I might be back in hospital wednesday morning! So you should maybe let your doc know if it doesn't settle quickly.
Are you bf? If you are I didn't think you got AF? But I may be misinformed?
James has screamed from 1pm til now, I don't kmow how much of this I can take.
Alison, I still can't wear my rings yet either, bummer cos i got a lovely new one from dh when James arrived!
-
Hi Tygress - OMG are you ok? What do they think it is then? Like you I didn't think you got AF while BF'ing. Wishing you the best with your ultrasound and hope you don't end up back in hospital, keep us posted.
As for James, you poor thing, Amelia has been the same the past couple of days, not too bad today thank goodness, I thought I was going to slit my wrists the day before yesterday however! Hope he settles soon and you get some rest.
And congrats on the new ring, I'm still waiting for mine!!!!
-
Well i thought you weren't supposed to get AF while BF either but i got it exactly 4 weeks after DD was born and every 28 days after that so i suppose BFing isn't reliable for everyone!! My midwife said since it happened with DD it'll probably happen this time around too.... awesome! I think i will give her a call and just check...
I haven't been game enough to try my ring on again! Wedding ring is still at jeweller getting fixed anyway! Weighed myself today and i've lost 13 kgs so far... 7 kgs to go!
Tygress: Goodluck with your u/s... and with settling James.. it's bloody hard work! I don't remember it being this hard with DD but that was 10 years ago and i probably just can't remember! haha!
x
-
Hey Kymmy - you probably just had more energy 10 years ago, I know I did and I'm 36 now, yikes! Well done on the weight loss, I've got 7 kgs to go as well! Groan.
AFM - just changed a pooey nappy, only for her to poo as soon as I did up the tabs, grrrr. The only downfall with combining BF'ing with formula top ups, you get the runny BF poo and the stinky formula poo combined, awesome! :o Had a massive explosion like on the poo explosion ad yesterday, went up her legs and onto the car seat and seat belts, everything, mmm mmmm!
-
Alison-possible retained placenta, sorry tmi! This may also explain why i have had next to no milk. The middie in the clinic said what was happening def wasn't normal and to get sorted asap- so that combined with James' afternoon scream fest had me in a mess tonight, now my mum thinks i have pnd cos i was bawling!
Of course James has been settled since dh came home!
Poo explosion - i've still got that one to look forward to!!!!
Kymmy - you must just be super fertile!!!!!
-
Hi Tygress - oh wow really! Gosh.........hope everything is ok. If you do will you have to have surgery to get it out? Poor you, that's all you need right now is to have to go back into hospital.......unless of course it gives you a break in an odd way!
PND, gosh, we all bawl, especially at the moment. Nup, you're just normal. :D
I have the same, DH came home and Amelia has been asleep since, WTF!!!
And Kymmy - Tygress is right, maybe you're extra fertile. I forgot my sister fell pregnant when her son was 4 months old, she was bf'ing but was still ovulating and didn't know it. Her kids are now 15 and 16 but boy did she do it hard at first, 2 kiddies in nappies, was like having twins. LOL
-
Hi girls,
Im glad Im not the only one with an unsettled baby!
Alison - dont you just LOVE a poo explosion like that, lol
Kymmy - I too got AF around the 6 week mark. I didnt think you got it either with bf but my bf wasnt full on so thats why I thought I got it. I bleed for a solid 7 days too :wall:
JDsmum - my little man has had lots of wind problems from the beginning. We've been giving him infacol since he was 4 weeks old, it helped a bit but he still got it bad sometimes. I have just in the last few days changed formulas to one for colic called Novalac but if anything have found his wind WORSE :wall: Im now contemplating going back to Karicare Gold! Its so awful when they are crying in so much pain and you cant do anything to help them. I hope you can find something that works for you. Good luck.
Natty - you poor thing. I can totally understand how you are feeling. Its nice to have your other half around to help out. My DP went back to work today and I was all alone again at home. I miss the help and company. It was nice to have him home for the past week and a half.
Hello to Ubba, Heavenly, Telly, Tygress and Billykat.
AFM - took Trent to the GP today as the MHCN heard a heart murmur when we had our 8week check up on New Years Eve. The GP said it was very faint and doesnt think there is anything to worry about. He told us to come back in a months time so he can check it again. Also we are concerned with Trent's hearing as we sometimes wonder if he can hear us and things. Again the MHCN rang a bell and he didnt respond the 1st time but did the 2nd time. Same with at the GP, he rattled some keys near him, didnt respond first time, but did the 2nd time. We also did the clapping test near his ears to see if he flinches but he didnt. Again the GP said he will check it again in a months time. I am praying he doesnt having hearing problems. Also Trent now weighs a whopping 5.7kgs!! He gained double the amount he should have :D He is in the 70% range for his weight. He has lots of beautiful baby rolls, hehe The GP was happy with everything else so I am a bit more relaxed now. Will keep an eye out on his hearing. Otherwise he is a very happy and healthy little boy, always smiling at us which is ADORABLE :D
Take care girls and hope your bubs are all behaving and letting you all get some SLEEP!
Tania :D
