You look great Mel!!!
Hi girls,
How's everyone going? Mel not long for you now. Are you all organised? I can't wait to hear how it all goes.
We put Lara in a single bed on Saturday night & so far so good, no climbing out etc but I'm sure she will begin to do it coz DD1 didn't climb out for the first few nights either. Yesterday she didn't have a day sleep though coz she was too busy playing with her toys in her room. The cot is still in her room & today I really wanted her to have a sleep so I put her in the cot for her day sleep but she was back in the bed tonight without a fuss.
Nothing else much happening here. Thought I'd pop in for a quick hello while feeding Lexie.
Hey girls... am still here! 38 weeks today. Am hoping to make it to the weekend as we have dhs bday tomorrow and then his bday dinner on Friday night. After that I am happy to go. although I havent had any niggles/signs recently that would indicate that I am going!!! I was getting cramping for about a week... a week agi but thats all stopped. I feel like I have concrete in my pelvis when I am in bed, its so hard to turn over and am always waking up on my back. Am seeing a lactation consultant today to work out a birth plan.... really hope that I can do it this time, at least for longer than 6 weeks and 3 week! She cost $70 an hour but I said to dh that it will work out cheaper than buying formula if successful... if not oh well!
Hope everyone is doing well. Leigh I hear you on the day sleeps and bed! I only can get bec having a day sleep if I lay with her on the lounge room floor! She sleeps all night but is a pain to get to sleep most nights. Shes just restless. Beccas language has picked up a lot lately and shes doing really well. Shes got a great personality and good sense of humour. Shes a lot less firey than Olivia, although she still throws stuff when shes mad!
Better go, I can see a migraine headache coming on... hope its nothing to do with my swelling! Lots of squigly lines in my vision... off to the mids tonight!
Mel, good luck with the lactation consultant, hope she gives you some good tips. I breastfed Cadence for 3 & a half months and Lara was bottle fed from birth (I had a hard time feeding Cadence which put me off doing it with Lara) then with Lexie I wanted to try breastfeeding again. So far I'm
still breastfeeding but a month ago I started to introduce some bottles of formula. So now I
breastfeed & she has about 2 bottles a day too. Coz Lexie is slow on the boob (sometimes taking an hr to feed) I didn't always have time to sit for that long when I've got the other two girls to look after, that's why I introduced the formula too. You might be lucky & have a quick drinker & bubs feeds might be over with in 5-10mins.
Fingers crossed you hold out til the weekend!
Sorry if there's any mistakes, I'm on my iPhone & it sometimes changes my words without me noticing.
Am still here, the days are dragging! The LC went well and I feel a fair bit more confidant going into this! I have a plan in place and I will see her after I get home. I made up some pressies for the girls from the baby, just lots of crappy stuff ... well not crappy but things like colouring in books and pencils stamps and crayons and some lip gloss and some snack food for when they come and visit! Everything is done so am resting up these days, just have the general day to day stuff to do and thats it!
Hope youre all well. x o
Wow Mel, so close, so close. Great idea on the pressies from the girls, that is such a good one, might have to put it in place for my two. So I am looking forward to that text :)
Leigh, well done on getting Lara into a single bed, I am in the process of setting up Finny's room, so I imagine he will be in his big boy bed probably 6 weeks before my due date - I guess just before Xmas, nervous to how he goes.
Well, I am the worlds grumpiest mummy at the moment - feel dreadful - since Saturday, I lost my voice for a three days, sore throat, head cold, achy, ughhhh, each day I think I am going to wake up feeling better but I don't and can't really take much for it bar panadol, honey & lemon drinks, so everything feels like a major drama to do. Not even sure if I should go to the doctor as I am sure they will just say to rest up, blah blah. Anyway, that is my whinge for the day. Lucky the kids don't seem to have any signs of it yet.
Have a good day peoples :) xxx
Mel, you sound very prepared. I forgot all about a present for my girls from Lexie when she was born. I did that with cadence when Lara was born, cadence thought it was the best thing. I'll be stalking you over the next few wks to see if your princess has been born.
Lara never had a day sleep again yesterday. I put her to bed but she climbed back out & played with her toys for 2hrs. I'm praying her day sleeps don't stop yet.
Anyone started toilet training? I'm sitting Lara on the potty (when I remember) but that's about it. She's not ready yet & I learnt with Cadence not to push it til they're ready. Cadence was done by 2 & a half so it would be nice if Lara was the same but we'll see how she goes. I had more time to train cadence than I do Lara though.
Better go & get Cadence up & ready for school.
Thanks girls.... I thought a nice activity pack would keep them entertained in the hossy and it has a bit of snack food too in it. The girls have got Amy a dolly for a pressie. I have everything packed in my bag.... everything is done! Have been having lower back ache and a bit of period pain but really nothing too strong.
Ahh the day sleep saga! Rebecca has one every now and then because shewont sleep in her bed during the day. Night time at the moment is proving difficult just to get her to sleep. She stuffs around so much now, but once asleep she usually sleeps the night, unlike Miss Olivia who at 3.5 thinks its ok to climb into our bed a few times a night! Oh well! As for TT, as soon as its warm I will take off the nappy and leave the potty outside and she can go for it there. I might start to pop her on it before baths/bed, but thought I would wait til bubs arrives! Dont want to impliment too many changes during this time. Shes been in a bed since July and is don to having 1 bottle at night. Got to get rid of that soon too!
Better run, washing to hang out! Coffee to drink:)
Ok... I am still here.... seriously thought I would have gone by now. Baby is well engaged, so much so that they are having trouble finding her head under my pelvic bone!!!!
Hope youre all well:)
Mel, I've been waiting and waiting for your news. How are you feeling? Excited/nervous? I'm sure you will do fine. Enjoy your last moments of being pregnant. I get sad thinking that I will never get to be pregnant again and feel a baby moving inside of me.
If I don't get to chat to you on here before bub is born GOOD LUCK and I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
yep, Mel, been waiting and checking my mobile for your text :) seriously though, take your time, just enjoy the moment, enjoy Olivia and Rebecca and having a bub in your belly. Gosh Leigh, I got a bit teary when you said you wouldn't feel another baby move in your tum as that is the same for me, this is definitely the last for us so I am really trying to take it all in.
All's well this end, feeling well pregnancy-wise just on the tail end of this flu thing. Still nesting and hunting around on EBay for things :)
Okay, Mel, best of british, look forward to the news! :)

Hey girls... still here this morning! I wake up every morning and wonder if today is the day! Im getting excited and nervous just wondering what my little lady will look like, how I will cope with 3 kids and hoping I can breastfeed! I had a scan yesterday because I was measuring small for dates. All went well, its just that her head is well under my pubic bone. The Dr seems to think it wont be too far away... who knows hey! Shes measuring around 3.1kg so similar to my other girls. Am enjoying the kicks but not the pressure between my legs. I often wonder if this is my last pregnancy. More than likely yes, but Adam has been talking about a 4th lately. No definate but still it could be there. I dont think I could go in it with the hope/want of having a boy because its taken so long for me to accept and start getting excited about another little girl. I am at ease with it all now, but I dont know how I would go emotionally doing the whole disappointment again...it was hard work, even up to recently because just about everyone I know is having boys and I still dwell on that at times. My friend from school had her baby yesterday and she now has 3 girls. It makes it easier for me in a sense... anyway just thoughts coming out of my head!!!!
Laurin- I have your number in my phone and I will text you as soon as.... we are done! I have put in this elaborate plan, which i really hope works.... have baby, call my mum to bring the girls in and spend family time, then call other family and text friends and do fb message! I really want the girls to be the first to meet their sister. Well I hope it works out! Hope youre feeling better from the flu. I have managed to escape it this winter.... and boy its been a long winter! Enjoy nesting and ebaying! What else do you have to get? I always look at ebay but dont really need much! Oh and youre half way there... yay! Whats your edd?
Leigh- hows little Lexie going? And your other girls? I cant belive shes 3 months already! Time flies doesnt it! Thanks for the wishes. Am feeling confident...just waiting for her to pick her birthday! My birthday is on the 20th so hoping shes here by then! Actually by the end of the week would be better!
Ok better go and reply to other threads:)
Take care x o
Wow Mel I can't believe it's almost time to meet your bubby! Must admit to being a tad jealous too lol. Would have another in a heartbeat if I could ;)
Hi everyone :hello: Long time no chat! Can you believe we are heading towards 2nd birthdays :o
Ruby is a bit of a ratbag ATM. She is in a bed now after climbing out of the cot and her favourite trick is drawing on the walls. None of the others really drew on the walls so this is new to me. She's also decided to TT herself and refuses to wear nappies during the day. A bit hit and miss with it so I have to really watch her cos we've had a couple of poos on the floor (at least she pulls her knickers down I guess) but if I can get her there in time she gets it! Not game enough to leave the house yet though lol.
Thanks Sam, sounds like youre doing well. Becca is trying to pull her nappies off but Im so not ready to do it with her yet. When it was warm a few days ago I had her outside nude and just sitting on the potty when she felt like it but she didnt do anything there. She much preferred peeing on the slide or the grass!!! I wouldnt leave the house yet either!!! Its been over a year now since Olivia has been fully tt! Hoping Bec will be just as ...easy!
Any tips on bring on labour.... I have had enough today! Sorry for tmi... my bowels are having a good empty, so hoping I have this baby in the next 24 hours...... ahhhh LOL!
Mel, emptying your bowels like that is a good sign. That happend to me with in 24hrs of going into labour with both Cadence & Lara.
Sam, great to see you in here. That's great Ruby wanting to wear pants instead of a nappy. Lara loves sitting on the potty. She takes her nappy off & sits on it but still hasn't managed to do anything. Lara likes drawing on the floor, I always have to make sure I have scrap paper handy for her to draw on.
yep, lots of bowel movements are a very good sign. I tried the castor oil thing, but wouldn't recommend it, made me have diarrohea (sp?) but bub didn't come for another week. I guess walking if you feel like it. gosh, it is such a funny feeling when you are sooo close isn't it, I remember making sure the washing was up to date and the house was spotless everyday as I was embarassed if I left it in a mess and had to call my neighbour in to look after DD that they would think I was a slob. and I was paranoid about having plenty of food in the house in case I went into hospital. Finn is nowhere near the toilet training stage yet, will maybe try over December / Jan before this bub comes along and see how we go but won't stress if it doesn't happen.
Okay, Mel, thinking of you loads, sending you lots of positive and happy labour vibes. Try and rest as much as you can over the next few days and just enjoy your gorgeous girls.

Laurin, although Lara loves the potty I don't reckon she is ready just yet. I won't be surprised if she's not toilet trained in 6mths. I try & get Cadence to sit on the potty to show Lara what to do coz she loves copying her big sister.
Mel.......I'm stalking you!!! Lol
