Hey all,
Sangie - Tadhg has also learned to scream, my quiet little bubba is no longer - now he knows to cry loudly and crack out the tears to get his way - and he sure knows what he wants (even if i don't)! Bootcamp went really well! Apart from being sick last week with a tummy bug which screwed things up a bit, we are all much happier. Sleeps are now regular at 9am and 1pm, getting longer - quite often 2 hrs, and he goes down well for the night until 7am. He fell into the routine pretty easily, which surprised me as we dropped a bottle and he loves his bottles - the only hard bit was stopping the night waking and sleeping in till 7am. He kept waking about 6am / 6:15am for a few days, but we just resettled and listened to him talking / grunting etc until 7am - and magically the last 2 days he has just been quiet until 7! With the night waking we just tried to ignore him and he put himself back to sleep within a couple of minutes (then half the time i'd get up to check he had blankets on still etc - lol).
BoB - Jackson is doing so well, love seeing all his pics on FB, doing new things. You inspire me with BLW seeing the variety you offer, as I fall into the 'same old, same old' trap. Yesterday we did grapes and baby corn, both of which he loved. I've also found he liked kidney beans (which i pulled out of a soup i had made). Daycare is a hard transition, but its good to have a mental break away from bub, and you really do feel re-energised to play and love them when you see them again :) Are you doing full time? I recommend doing a week of practice daycare if you can, spend a couple of hours there with him, and get used to the environment, especially the cots for sleeping.
Art - thanks for your comments on the allergy, i believe the same as you - just finding some peoples comments a little hard to swallow. In general i havent found many people imposing their opinions on me, but this one is a goodie. So i'm trying to stay strong. Also, daycare did egg sandwiches the day T went back in -so SO pleased i had found out, in case they had given him some - rather I found out than anyone else :) I hope A's sleeping comes back to normal -thats hard on everyone.
Sanchez - hope V is feeling a bit better? Hard work huh. Sounds like she is pretty close to crawling - nice to have a happy baby on her front, T grizzles as soon as i put him down - trying to persist! We didn't do mothers day presents, I am happy to wait until T is odl enough to draw me a picture or make me some baking etc. What did you get?? Sounds like it was a goodie! :D
Taurean - impressive work Izzy with the crawling / moving about. She is doing so well :) Cool that she's getting the hang of finger foods too - fun aye? Yep IT geek through and through, been doing it for 10 years now, since uni! I really love doing the BA and PM work - but testing is so much less stressy, and easier from home. I'm enjoying being back into it. It would be good if you could do some from home, you have a good case because you already know how everything works and can just slot in and get on with it - just depends on your manager's ability to be open minded I guess. I reckon 2 half days would be nice - as a full day is a really long time to be away from bub, its hard. You could try and do creche for 9-3 or something, and then you'd have time for the gym too. My daycare gives a cheaper option if you pick up before 3:30pm. I also like that when i'm 'at work' i am doing work (ok or i'm on BB!), not thinking i should be vacuuming / cleaning etc. Which i find is a constant pressure when you are being 'mum'.
OK, i really have to do some work - but first i'm calling daycare to see if Tadhg is sleeping at all! crossing fingers he is being good!
NW3 - we got the booties - so cute! Thanks heaps xx They are just a tiny bit too big, so perfect for winter. DH was very impressed :) How is Sam going with the sleeping etc? Sounds like all the babies who are going away find it disturbs the routine, so very understandable he is mixed up with timezones, and holidays!

Hi all
Have just put her down for a nap but I don't believe she will be there long. For the first time just stroked her tummy and she went off quite easily.
I am feeling a bit disheartened as lately have recieved a few comments from people about how it is so ridiculous that i let her feed during the night, and that "well you are going to be the one crying when she is 1 and can't go to sleep" etc etc. I know i shouldn't let other people upset me but it does, and 4 months of sleep deprivation and I am a woman easily upset!
But I am going to take their comments on board and am going to try not to feed her and see if she will be soothed back to sleep. I'm not too confident on the whole thing.
Kelly it seems as though T has done really well on the routine front.....has made me feel a bit more empowered! I think i have been holding out thinking our trip to NZ might reset her clock like the trip to Tonga did!
I saw a pic of myslef the other day and my face needs sleep - the bags under my eyes were RIDICULOUS! This will give everybody a good chuckle.....thought i would do the old haemarroid cream under the eye trick like the supermodels do......until my mum told me that was only when the cream had adrenaline in it which they took out years ago! Wondered why i still looked so bad - basically just putting arse cream on my face!
As for mothers day, my DH bought me a lovely Tiffanys necklace, so I felt really spoilt. Was a once only thing....as I reminded DH he never got me a 30th gift as V was born 4 hours before. But as i reminded him - I went into labour at 1pm the day before my 30th....what was he planning on giving me the next day?! Surely he wasn't planning on going shopping the afternoon before my birthday? But i got the best gift in the end anyway ;) Next year I am looking forward to getting something V has made.
Sorry for the selfish post - but I am going to have a cup of tea and a Tim Tam.....because I have earnt it
-
Kelly thanks hun :). Oh dont worry about the same ol same ol food, I also get stuck in that trap too. Your routine sounds like its worked well with T. Jackson kinda put himself into a similar routine but can still wake during the night.
How is T at day care? Did it take him long to settle in? I am going back to work 4 days a week 8.30am to 4.30pm, so it will feel like full time, although technically only part time. We have 2 days test run before I go back to work with DC. Im in mixed minds of weither to stay a few hours with him or go cold turkey and just drop him off... Either way, I can see there will be tears on my part
Sanchez, Jackson usually sleeps 7ish pm to 4 or 5am when he wakes for his first feed, but on the odd occasion he will wake around 2am. I always give him a feed to get back to sleep. I wouldnt worry about what others are saying, do what is best for you and V. She will stop doing it when she is ready :)
We had a photobook done of our Europe trip last year which arrived today and its turned out really well. Its only a 20cm x 20cm, so not huge but still cool, I love it.
Have a great day everyone.
-
Naughty me - checking on replies again while at lunch - technically i'm at lunch though!
Sanchez - It sucks that people feel they can tell you how to raise V :( I'd be upset with that too! Totally support you in your efforts to limit the night feeding - but only when you are ready for it, don't feel like you have to chnage before then (kinda sounds like you are heading towards ready with the tired eyes tho) You poor muffin - cracking up at the bum cream! When is the trip to NZ?? I think i missed that a while back. Where are you headed?
BoB - regarding daycare, today is our 4th week, but last week he only did half a day due to being sick - so feels very early days. He seems to be a long way off settled - might take a couple of months? He is happy playing and eating - just not sleeping :( Took an hour of crying and upset to get to sleep this morning apparently :( My 2cents on the trial - it seemed to be easier for T to get used to being at daycare when i was there with him, so he could get to know the carers slowly, and I enjoyed seeing how happy the other kids were - gave me confidence that we will get there eventually!
OK back to work :)

Hi Everyone
I have been AWOL for awhile.....
Indigo finally cut her 1st tooth at exactly 8mnths!!! we have 2 coming through on the bottom now but the cranky teething thing hasnt stopped. She is fully commando crawling around the house and gets up on her knees for a few movements but drops back to her tummy again. She has 3 meals a day and about 3-4 bottles in between.
I am a SAHM and have been so for 3 years and 8 months now, it has its bad days but overall its all worth it...DH has an above average income and we have been helped out by family when its got a bit tough. I cant say when I will go back to work.....also we dont want our children raised in daycare (each to their own - this is the decision we have made for our family) I worked in Insurance BC (before children) but would like to get some qualifications in Social work as I am interested in working in Child Safety down the track.
Hope everyone is doing ok..I have had a few bad days lately but seem to be coping a bit better now..the boys are on holiday this week with their grandparents so me Indi are having some together time

Hi all
This will have to be a quick one as he is down but don't know how long for. Poor little fella has a cold with real chesty cough so is a little bit out of sorts. He has chucked up twice he is coughing so much :-( I've taken him to the doctor but he hasn't given him any anti-biotics yet. Other than that (which is enough) nothing much happening here. His night waking appears to be over for the moment - waking at about 11ish for a feed and then going through till about 7am.
Sanchez - very envious of your Mother Day pressie. It sounds fab. And I agree having V must have been the best birthday present. I got a little portable music system that I can play both CDs and my IPOD on - will probably be used more for Sam than me but hey allows me to influence what his musical tastes are! Can't believe people are making negative comments to you about V waking during the night. It is support you need not comments like that! For what its worth you might find the V will actually resettle if you were to try that. I used to always immediately go into Sam when he woke in the middle of the night and take him up and feed him but over week or so when he was waking in the night (in an effort to get him to sleep through again) over the last few nights I've tried resettling (if it has only been a short while since he was last fed) and also leaving him cry for a few minutes to see if he would go back to sleep. Both worked and after two nights he stopped waking! Don't know if it was just a co-incidence or if what we did worked. I probably would suggest that you would get your hubbie to try to resettle as she will associate milk with you. Either way best of luck with whatever you decide to do. I think you should be nominated for sainthood being sleep deprived for that long. PMSL about the hemaroid cream btw.
Kelly - congrats on baby boot camp working. Might need to get some tips from you. Quick question if T goes down at 1pm for his afternoon nap and wakes at say 3pm how do you keep him up until 7pm. Sam just wouldn't last that long so I normally try to keep him up until closer to 2 or 2.30pm. Doesnt always work as sometimes he will only sleep for 40 mins in the morning. Hope the sleeping at day care improves. As we know a tired baby is not a happy baby. Oh and regarding screaming Sam went through a phase of doing that for about 2 weeks. Man he was able to give his lungs a good workout. It was when we were away. I was wondering how it would go down on the plane but he had moved on from doing it at that stage luckily.
Taurean - how is Izzy going? Is she liking her playpen. I bet you she'll work out some way to get out of it pretty quickly.
Nicola - welcome back. Hope you and Indy have a lovely time with her brothers away.
Art hope you had a great holiday. The photos (FB) looked great. It was comforting to hear to A and Ethen and Violet are at the same stage. I think I was just effected by what the lady at Gymbaroo had said to me. Hope A's sleeping gets back to normal. I am not counting my chickens yet but looked like it took about 2 weeks to get back to normal.
Sangie - how are your two? How is the little bulge going. Has the little tooth appeared yet. We still only have the very top of the tooth at the moment but I guess that's the hard part the rest of the tooth should just slip through - right?
Okay so this ended up being longer than I thought - he's still asleep. Have a quick question for everyone though I know that some are doing BLS. I am looking to make a few more exciting meals for Sam but am struggling with finding a salt free chicken or vegetable stock. Have any of you found one. I got the campbells reduced salt one but am concerned that there still might be too much sodium in it. Don't really want to be bothered making stock myself if I can help it. Any ideas?
Until next time. Cuddles to the bubs.

Hey ladies!
Kelly, you remind me of yourself when I used to check BB at work ;) Sounds like T is going really well and his routine sounds great! How are you finding it being back at work?
Art, glad you guys had a great time away. I saw some pics of fb, very cute pics of Miss A (and yourself!). Work is going ok thanks. It's only week 3 and at 4-5 hours a week it isn't much but enough to hopefully clear some cobwebs! What are you planning on studying?
Sanchez, aaahhh you poor thing. Nothing worse than people sticking their noses in! Agree with the others, do what works for you guys. I had a good laugh at the bum cream  YAY on the Tiffany's necklace hun!
Nicola, great to hear from you. Sounds like Indi is doing well. How is it going with 3? Is it easier now that Indi is on the move or harder?
Bob, great to hear from you too! Best of luck with going back to work hun!
Taurean, hope you are all settled back at home!
Did you all have nice mother's day? Was busy here but fun. Elena made me a gorgeous card which she covered in red glitter because 'that's your best colour mummy!'. Will hopefully get something made by Ethan next year! Planning my big girl's 3rd birthday for this weekend. I'm making her a butterfly cake so fingers crossed it comes out ok!
OK have mountains of clothes to sort so better be off. Have a great day :D
ETA, NW3 we posted at same time. Hope Sam gets better soon, poor boy. Not sure about the stock hun, I make up my own and freeze in batches. Ethan loves chicken soup and great now that the weather is getting cold enough to have it regularly.
-
Sanchez, lmao about the bum cream! I have big black circles under my eyes, but I am lucky that it is sunk in (like a junkie in need) rather than puffy. I gave up contact lenses and wear glasses full time because the bottom of the frame sort of hides it lol. As for people butting in about V's sleeping - if they have nothing constructive to say then just lie. Tell them she is doing much better and then do what you want. It may well be that she wakes up frequently when she is one, but they won't be the ones getting up to her so it is none of their business. Just out of interest, how is she with other people? Is she Miss Social during the day or is she a mummy's girl? I was just in Dunedin the other day doing a nostalgia tour and remembered how lovely a city it is. Hope you all have some warm clothing though, Carisbrook in June is colder than a frogs tit!
Sangie, I think I will do psychology - not because I am particularly interested, but because it can be done entirely by distance. Anything that looks interesting has mandatory contact courses which I just can't attend (two hours away and no one to look after the children).
NW3, hope S is feeling better soon. Not sure about the stock, I have never been particularly worried about sodium so I would just use normal myself.
Hi to everyone else.
Had a really clingy day today, couldn't put her down. Very frustrating.

Hi everyone, Have been a bit MIA lately as I started back at work at the end of April. Looks like we have a heap of IT ladies in here! I have just returned to full time teaching and loving it. I was at the stage where I couldn't spell anymore and like others my brain had gone to mush I reckon! I got ambushed by kids the fisrt couple of days I was back which was nice but better get into the swing of things as reports are coming up soon!! I keep getting asked if I am missing Frazer being back at school and the honest truth is I'm not really. Don't get me wrong I love coming home to him at the end of the day but I am just kept too busy during the day to think about much else but work. I think it definately helps to know that he is with Grandparents and DH most of the week and is only in day care one day. Also I am home by 3.15pm most days and the time we spend together now is really nice quality time.
Interesting to see how other bubs are settling into day care. Frazer is loving it. I was slighty sadened that he didn't even realise I was in the room the first afternoon I went to pick him up! :( I was having a conversation with one of the ladies and my voice didn't even register, he just kept on doing what he was doing! He loves other kids and is extremely vocal/playful all day long. His sleeps are pretty much the same no matter where he is and he eats every scrap of food I send with him. He is a bloody eating machine! At daycare he will have porrdige, a rusk, bottle, yogurt, large jar of veges/meat and vege for lunch, container of peaches for afternoon tea and another bottle about the time I would pick him up. No wonder he is weighing in at 11.5 kgs!
Anyways, will get on tomorrow in a break for some personals but just letting you know I am still around, just being kept super busy atm!
Nite

Ok so I am in bed....v is asleep next to me.....I feel like I have been hit by a truck as I have a cold, I am so tired yet I can't fall asleep - destined to forever have the eye bags!
Pooley I am amazed at how much F eats! Only because I can get V to eat very little so that amount of food seems like a pipe dream for me....11.5!!! How are your arms holding up?! Glad to hear all went well with your return to work.
Art - frogs tit!!! LMAO. I want to know specifics on how cold that is! I am a little concerned about V being cold (and me for that matter) but she's got Icebreakers, heaps of woolen clothes, woolen tights, ugh boots and she has a insulated
jumpsuit. What are some other essentials for a baby in the cold? V is not the social butterfly but she is getting better. She didn't take to the mothers group well and cried everytime a bub looked at her but she is better now. She sometimes starts to hyperventilate if she can't see me...her clingyness worries me a little. Just about going back to work but I have 2 months to come up with a solution (my husband is freaking out a bit, and he doesn't want me going back to work anyway so I have to make it happen!).
Kelly - Am seeing family in WLT for 5 days, then am circumventing the south island in a motorhome......and we have tickets to the final all black match at Carisbrook.
-
Something weird is going on, i thought I had broken my bellybelly then!
Sorry ididnt get to write to e eryone but I am getting the fuzzies so am going to shut my eyes.
Hi nicola glad to hear that all is well with you, mw3 sending Sam and you some love...do you use a humidifier when your sick?
Sangie...good luck with the butterfly cake!
Eyes shut now....

Winter
Sanchez sounds like you have got enough warm clothes...it will depend on what you and V are wearing to how long you can be out in the cold but you are covered!! I live in my Icebreaker at the moment. It is getting down to 5degs at night here and Im in QLD!!! I have got Indi a few Kathmandu items..and the boys have a thermal each. Its confusing some days because it still gets up around 26-27degs during the day.
We are going to Christchurch at the end of November for 9 days..without the kids, I couldnt go in winter as my Queensland born and bred DH would of frozen his bollocks off and complained the whole time. We are going to visit a friend of mine who has Breast Cancer and to see family...I havnt been back since 2004.
-
My god, chatterboxes!!!
Sanchez - PMSL at using the arse cream under your eyes! Bugger it no longer works! I can't believe people are judging you about feeding V overnight - she's a baby for crying out loud! What do people expect?! You continue doing what is best for you and your family hon and tell everyone else to bugger off! Izzy had about 6 weeks all up of night feeds recently when we moved house and she cut her two teeth. She suddenly stopped last week. Actually, she slept through the night of my last post on here! So I personally don't think it creates any issues feeding through the night and at the end of the day, you're the one that has to deal with it, so why does anyone else care?! As for helping V sleep through, do you wrap her, tuck her into sheets/blankets or does she wear a sleeping bag? The reason I ask as we put Izzy in her bigger Grobag that night after my last post (so the 6-18mth size bag) and she slept 11 hours straight and we haven't looked back since. I think it's been 10 days or so. It could have been a coincidence but I honestly think it helped. I also tried just soothing Iz the last night she woke throughout the night and just offered her a dummy and her blankie. That night she went back to sleep twice without feeding (then slept through the following night in the bigger Grobag). I hope that make sense and possibly helps. You are superwoman AND you are doing an amazing job
Pooley - OMG! 11.5kg?! You must have incredibly toned arms! My arms are struggling a bit and Izzy is just short of 8kg! Glad to hear your return to work is going well and Frazer is enjoying daycare.
Art - 37 weeks - another Wonder Week. It's Saturday week for our kids. It's the time that separation anxiety starts too. Excellent (not). Great photos from your holiday. Your kids are like little cherubs - gorgeous!
Sangie - good luck with the butterfly cake! Do you have the Women's Weekly Birthday Cake book? My mum always made us kids a fancy cake for our birthdays from that recipe book - they are amazing. Cute re: the red glitter. I'm looking forward to getting homemade pressies from our kids.
AM - Izzy likes the playpen and I don't think she'll be escaping any time soon, thankfully! Chicken stock - I just use the powder and only make it at half strength or less. Sorry to hear Sam is sick. Sending him lots of get well vibes, the poor little munchkin.
Nicola - I've had a few bad days lately too, must be common at this stage as I brought it up with my MCHN on Monday and she had all sorts of stuff to give me and talk to me about. She said it's very normal which made me feel better. I hope you're enjoying your time alone with Indy.
Kelly - you're not wrong about the pressures of house work when you're a SAHM. I'm constantly getting bogged down in housework and getting very frustrated when DH comes home and makes a mess. It's really starting to bother me - I think I need to get a life!! Testing is a great job to do from home, isn't it. I did quite a lot of testing from home after hours when I was a QA. I loved it as it was often in the evenings so I got to sip on a glass or two of red while I tested, LOL. I honestly think it only made me a better tester, PMSL. Well done on T's bootcamp efforts. That's so impressive!! We have a pretty relaxed routine but it seems to work well for us, at least for now. I still work more with tired signs and the clock (how long Izzy's been up for) to indicate when bedtime is for our little Miss. Evening is nearly always the same though and we aim to have her in bed between 7 and 7.30.
BoB - great to hear from you again hon! Jackson sounds like he's doing really well. Good luck with going back to work. I can imagine how tough it must be. I'd be a batcase!!
AFU - Izzy is crawling! She's really into everything now and there is no stopping her. I thought she was a busy bee before but this is nuts! We invested in a playpen the other day and it's great. At least I have somewhere to put her which is safe when I need the loo, heaven forbid! LOL.
Mothers Day was a nice day although it started out a bit crappy. I had to remind DH at 6pm on the Saturday night that it was the following day so he rushed out then and bought my present. What's open at 6pm on a Saturday night in Perth? Not much! Needless to say I got flowers and 'chemist' pressies - a small teddy bear (it's actually really cute) and a Dr Luewins gift pack. Lovely but I was so annoyed that it was all last minute. He's normally really good at putting some thought into special occassions but this year he sucks! Sangie, I would have been so happy with the red glitter card as that was thoughtful. Oh well, maybe next year he'll work it out. LOL. We did have a nice day in the end though and went for a bbq with my family in the bush about an hour out of the city. Izzy loved it.
Izzy's sleeping has improved out of sight. Ironically she went back to her normal 11-12 hours overnight the night of my last post on here! We decided to try her in her bigger Grobag and bingo, that was it! I only wish we tried that earlier. She's been sleeping great since and I'm feeling so much more human again (besides being a bit crabby, see below).
I've been a bit out of sorts lately with my moods. I think I've hit the wall a bit - stuck in the rut of motherhood. We had Izzy's 8 month checkup on Monday and I spoke to the MCHN about it and she said it was very common at this stage. She gave me some reading and talked about methods to help me through it. I'm really cranky at DH and the smallest things are getting on my nerves. I beginning to hate the 'groundhog day' feeling too. It's time I really did something for myself. I have something on every day this week which is helping a bit as I feel more positive this week than I did last week but I still need to get onto the 'me' activities. One of my friends goes to the gym and puts her baby in the creche there. It really good for both of them so I think I need to take a page out of her book. Is anyone else feeling a bit flat?
Besides my issues, Izzy's checkup went well. She's 7.84kg and is 67cm long - 50% for both. I'm not sure who's scales to trust though as her last weigh in on different scales was 8kg so who knows! Anyway, the MCHN was impressed by her eating habbits and crawling, talking, etc. I expressed my concerns about her being so 'busy' (a bit worried about her being hyperactive!) but she told me that it's honestly usually a sign of a very intelligent child. That was nice to hear, let's hope it's true! I need to constantly challenge her and let her explore lots and she gets bored easily. It's time for this mummy to get creative! So all went well except for one thing - Izzy's head is huge! It doesn't look big at all and even the MCHN had to measure it twice to be sure but it's 47cm - off the scale! I'd just finished explaining our family history of big heads to the MCHN when she raised it with me so given our history, she thinks it's just genetical but we need to see our GP for an ultrasound to be sure. I'm sure she's fine and so is our MCHN because if it's an issue, the babies generally show other signs of problems and aren't reaching milestones, but we're getting her checked out tomorrow just to be sure. Cross your fingers for us that all is ok.
DH is off to Brisbane on Saturday for 4 nights for a conference. He was recently promoted to the GM (wohoo for DH !!!) so although we were originally going to join him, DH has decided it's not a good idea as he now has a lot of meetings and dinners to go to. Yay for the promo but boohoo for us not being able to go along. I'm sad about not going and also a big nervous about tackling Miss Iz on my own for the first time! I'm staying at my parents Saturday night as we have a family bbq to go to so that will be nice. Maybe I'll just move in there until Wednesday, LOL!
Well I'd better go. Miss I is in bed so I should really do something productive I guess, like shower! It's getting harder and harder to shower while she's awake as she's not that happy about being strapped into her rocker in the bathroom while I shower unless she has a rusk. We love rusks - lots.
-
Sanchez, sorry lovely, didn't mean to worry you about Dunedin lol. You would be pretty unlucky to get snow, it is mainly the icy sea wind that blows that is the problem. Just make sure you have some wind breaker jackets and you will be fine. For V I would suggest a snow suit like the Kathmandu ones just to keep the wind off her. I have one you can borrow - can post it to your friends in Welly and you can send it back when you are done if you want. eta, just re-read that you have a jumpsuit, that should do the job.
V sounds very similar to my DS. He was super clingy to me, didn't like other people holding him. We had a falling out with the IL's over it, they just wanted to hold him regardless even if he was screaming and reaching out for me  He always stood back from the other children at mothers group etc, until about 20 months when he started leaving me to go and play. Just after he turned 2 he started interacting with the other kids a bit, still a bit standoff-ish but getting better. But it isn't all bad, because he is really good at finding his own thing to do and then the other kids see and follow his lead - he is often the instigator for whatever play is going on so I think it has given him the basis for being more of a leader than a follower.
He was still waking 3-4 times a night until after I weaned him at 18 months. It slowly got better after that - he either sleeps through or more often wakes once now.
That probably sounds depressing and not very helpful, but the moral of the story is that even though it is hard going now, you are wiring her little mind to know that you are always there for her and in her own time she will become less clingy and turn into a confident little girl. I know it is tough and you are doing a great job.
About going back to work, is she better if you aren't around? I know some bubs won't take a bottle if they know there are boobies in the house, maybe she won't mind if you aren't with her if you are gone altogether? Have you left her with anyone? It's hard.
Taurean, the separation anx is only starting now??? I already can't put her down for 5 seconds, surely it can't get worse!! I will do A's stats tomorrow, but I am pretty sure she has a little pea head, it is probably as disproportional on the charts as Izzy's but in the other direction lol I hear you on the flatness of being stuck at home with babies. The gym sounds like a good mental break.
BOB, was the photo book hard to do? I am planning to do one for both kids for the first year.
Pooley, that is great that F has adjusted so well to daycare.
-
Just did A's stats this morning, she is 8.8kg, 72cm (around the 75-85% range), and her little tiny pea-sized head is 41 cm which didn't even make it onto the chart lol
-
Hi all.....V is watching the Teletubbies as I am having my wake up cup of tea.
Art - Good stats on A, she is a tall little one......I think V is still around 64cm - has been that way for months. I have never even done her head so wouldn't have a clue....and we only have builders measuring tape and im not going to wrap that around her head! Thank you for making me feel better about your DS's habit of feeding etc. It is pretty much the inlaws giving me grief and it sounds like they have something in common with yours. They too wil insist on letting her scream if they are holding her and wanting me. V is the only breastfed child in the family and i think they are struggling to understand why V feels so connected to me, they are used to babies that are being babysat for days from day1. We have tried the bottle when I have been not aound but that hasn't worked either. I her some BF babies just wait until their mums come home from work and have a big feed so I am clingng to that fact that she will do that. Otherwise my working days may be short lived!
Taurean - I am very disappointed you aren't coming to Bris I was looking forward to hanging out with you adn Izzy. Tell you what she sounds like a dynamo! I haven't been able to strap V into a bouncer for months, I am shocked that Izzy still wil let you put her in. V just plays on the bathroom floor while i'm in the shower. Could you not babyproof the bathroom and just let her crawl around? I have been desperate to make V crawl bt hearing about Izzy Ishould be glad she is just staying still! Great to hear that she is growing well......and her head - well she needs a placeto put all the intellegence so maybe thats why! I am sure everything will be AOK on the scan but good luck....what is a average head circ at this stage of the game? I havent put V in a sleeping bag for months. She started to scream everytime i put her in, now she just is between DH and I under the covers like we are.
For the last couple of nights i have pat her back to sleep everytime she woke up - which she responded really well with, however i did have to feed at 4-5am, but then she slept until 8am so am going to keep doing this and see if she stops waking.
I am going to go.....my computer is not behaving....II cantsee what im typing......I want a MAC....i need to go to work to buy everything I want!

Hey chatterboxes!
Did Ethan's stats this morning too. He's 9.39kg, 71.2cm long and head is 45.2! Art he's a shorter fatter version of A lol!
Sanchez, I had that issue with IL's too. Why is it that they insist on holding a crying bub who wants their mum gggrrrrrr! Luckily they don't do it anymore, think they got the hint when I kept taking DD off them when she started reaching out for me. I hope the patting to sleep keeps working!
Taurean, there are some big heads on my DH's side lol! Ethan's is a bit above average but they aren't too worried especially as it seems to be a family trait. I'm sure Iz will be fine but good luck anyway! Her head doesn't look big in the photos I've seen of her! Sorry you've been feeling in a rut lately, I know that feeling too. Going to the gym is a great idea. I'm trying to do more things for myself too as I really think I need it. I've decided that Thursday nights are mine and I'm telling DH he has to get home at a decent hour so I can go out and spend and hour or so doing something. Tonight I'm meeting my sister for coffee and some window shopping (ok ok I might buy something lol!). I'm feeling kind of flat too and I'm starting to dread the crazy hours of 5-7.30pm when I feel like I'm running around like a headless chook! Just wish DH didn't have to work such long hours, he tends to walk in the door when the kids have just gone to bed and ask 'what's for dinner?' gggrrrrrrrrr. We love rusks too, sometimes they are the only reason that dinner gets cooked !
Pooley, glad to hear all is going well with you guys. I reckon Ethan would eat that much too, he's such a guts! Maybe its a boy thing!
Art, I did some psychology at uni (only first year) and I enjoyed it. Good luck with it! I have a clingy bub too at the moment :(
Well I think the separation anxiety has well and truly started here. He cracks it when he can't see me and suddenly doesn't want to be held by anyone else. His day sleeps are also back to two 40 min powernaps which are just not enough. He is then a cranky overtired bub by late afternoon. Driving me nuts, here is hoping its short lived. Speak of the devil he is awake after only 30 mins this time, gonna be a fun day me thinks!

Hi all
This one will be a quickie as have heaps to do and he hasn't actually fallen asleep yet this afternoon.
Things are so so here at the moment. Poor little Sam is still sick. Took him to my GP and he is now on antibiotics as his cough which is very chesty just wasn't going away. Poor little mite was throwing up from coughing after he had either eaten or drank. Doc did say that this was fairly common becuase of the gag reflux in young babies. He is in okay sorts but is a bit clingy at the moment which means I get nothing done when he is awake. I am a little bit concerned about the amount of nutrition he is keeping in but hope that as he doesn't appear hungry he must be getting enough. Just hope the antibiotics kick in quickly. Unfortunately I've now picked up the cold so feel like I've been hit wiht mac truck. Don't think the build up of tiredness over the past few weeks aren't helping. Sanchez I think I can just begin to understand how you must feel the whole time now.
I must have the skinny minny baby of the group. Last time Sam was measured he was 7.75kg 70cm long and head was 45cm. Both lenghtwise and head are 50 percentile but weight is only about 10-15 percentile. My hubbie was tall and skinny at a kid so he is probably taking after him. The paed who had done the measurements didn't seem to be concerned and said it was probably just him. It was shortly after he had the vomiting bug also and I know he had lost weight when he had that. He is going to do another check up on him closer to his 1st birthday and assume he will sign him off then and not need to seem him again. I was a little bit surprised that he asked to see him again but he said he didn't have any concerns. As he gets older it will probably be a real pain clothes wise as he will be too skinny for the bigger sizes but too long for smaller sizes. I have that problem now as 6-9 month trousers as just way too loose on the waist for him
Sanchez if you really wanted to measure Vs head just use a bit of string and then measure that. Thats what I did towards the end of my pregnancy when i wanted to see how big my stomach was actually getting. At my baby shower we got my girlfriends to cut off the lenght of string that they thought would fit around my belly and it was hilarous to see just how big some people thought I was. One girl had enough string to go around me twice!!!
From what I've read about seperation anxiety it can kick in any time from 7 months on. Sam isn't too bad most days - not counting whats happening at the moment as he isn't feeling great. He really was great meeting so many people when we were away and didn't seem to mind who held him as long as they were amusing him.
Going to go now and try to get stuff done while he is asleep. Speak soon.
