DD has just been diagnosed with the Mollescum viris. If I remember correctly, Ness - Didn't one of your girls have it? What did you do for treatment, and how long did it last? Did all the kids get it??

J has another ear infection, and has develped a HUGE coldsore on his lip. So he has to go back to the doctor tomorrow. It seems like they are falling apart! E came out with hives today, and that is how i found out that she had the mollescum viris. I had to take her to the doctor as the hives were terrible.

WOW you have a great memory.. yep my eldest had it..

can i ask how many spots she has?

And you may not like this but I tried everything, including the expersive internet treatments and nothing worked. Firstly DO NOT bath the kids together... it is spead via water.. so that means no swimming or anything

The only way i got them to disappear was to squeeze the centre out. the centre is a hard circle white spot, like a solid pimple. and Im sorry but it hurts them like crazy and will bleed. It will also scar too. I had to do this because they were just speading ALOT. She had them mainly under her her neck so you cant see the scars. I just popped one or two a day and make sure you wipe them clean and wash your hands!!!!

    Hope J is better soon

She has quite a few. All in her nappy region, and under her arms. Too many to count. They have been ther about 3 weeks. I also noticed J now has one or two spots coming up. *sigh* In saying that, they are not too bad, nor are they worrying her at the moment. As I only found out today, they have already been bathing together. I will now change over to showering for a while. They don't seem *squeezable* as the moment. I have heard squeezing can get rid of them. How long did she have them for?

  4. Babies born~September 2006 #112

    :

She had them for umm over a year i think.. wasnt til I did the popping that they went away.

  5. Babies born~September 2006 #112

    :

So did you just not take her to the pool for a whole year? The kids are going to hate not bathing together. I have read that they can last anywhere from weeks to years

I think Ash has that virus too, haven't been to the DRs but friend son had it (that we didn't know til after Ash got them and they'd had baths together!) She's had hers for few months now and yeah annoyingly they keep spreading, she has not too many but they spread from her left arm onto left side of her body and back again. Over winter not really a bother but with summer and being in t-shirts they're not very attractive.

just popping on to say millana had the virus same time as ness's oldest. I used the ziaderm i got it from america on ness's reccomendation and it worked. Squeezing caused scars on millana's torso.. U can see them in the sun.. U can also get them lazered off. It can last up to 2-3 yrs apparently and can be unsightly and painful.
With the ziaderm u put the solution on each dot and they disapearred over a 2 month period. Ruby got it but only 2 spots which were irradicated from the solution.
Happy birthday to the 4 yr olds in the sept thread.
Congratulations to belle on your pregnancy, so excited for you! Cant wait to see what u have.

Hmm might have to do some research on the ziaderm. How is everyone? J is being a bit of a handful ATM. They did an assessment that had him at the level of a two year old for all developmental areas. They just sent the report in the post. No explanation. Well the reason he was scored so low was because he flat out refused to do what they asked him to do. I became very stressed and bs e been pretty upset for the past month. It seems that he has an anxiety problem. It us nut that he can't do things, but he us scared of failing so he won't do things.

Anyway he is off to kindy next year. I think it will be good for him

Ok better go pick him up from 3 yo kindy.

    :

Meg...I hate the assessments, their alwasy rated so low especially when their uncooperative. Kinder will be fantastic for him...give him some confidence, you some breathing space ..make sure you get a communication book into his bag..just so you can refer back at a later time when you need it. Your doing an awesome job babe.

AFM - V has a cough from hell...have been up for the last 2 nights with her coughing that bad she spews...hoping to get kinder pics back this week but might not send her on friday due to the coughing (its always worse after kinder as they play outside)

Hope that Belle and Ness are having a fanastic holiday each...Cant wait until December for the BB meet up at the spagetti tree in Melbourne

HOpe everyone is having a great day

Meg- I asked my Dr what we could do she recommended some acne stuff called Benzac I think, it wont get rid of them but will help stop them spreading, it seems only way to get rid of them is either wait til body builds immunity to it which could be 6mths to 2yrs or the painful way. Let me know how the ziaderm stuff works for you. With bathing we usually bath Emily first then put Ash in afterwards, bit annoying.
I remember reading yr thread on that assessment, god, and these ppl are meant to be experts or something! Kinder will be good for him, guess best thing is just to keep encouraging him to attempt stuff and reinforce that its the trying thats important.

Maz- She had a cough like that not long ago too didn't she? Poor thing is she prone to getting sick or just the time of year when the weather changes? Does vaporiser help? I will be missing out on the xmas party, too much on that weekend but I have been to the spaghetti tree, food was good and reasonable price.

I'm so slow, i didn't even realise Belle was pregnant again! Congrats Belle! Hope your having a great time away too, from your FB pics looks like youre having a blast.

and you too Ness. anymore news on yr grandpa?

We're getting all excited for xmas here, been to visit myer windows and see santa land.
Also means can start using the whole "elves are watching you" when Ash is being naughty, lol.

Speaking of naughtiness I'm interested to know what you guys do for disipline with yr kids. Time out totally does not work for Ash so we've started taking things away like no computer time, tv time etc. Seems to work alot better.

    :

meg - I agree with the others, kindy will be fantastic for him.

shell - we use the 'santa is watching you' trick all year long lol. A few weeks ago, she thought of something she would like for Christmas, and she went outside, looked up at the sky and said 'dear santa, I would like a Shrek dvd for Christmas. Thank you.' When I asked her what she was doing, she reminded me that Santa is always watching, so she knows he would have heard her So I'm always listening out in case she's telling santa something lol.
As for discipline, we use time out, as it works for the girls. I always give a warning, if they still continue, then it's time out. 2 min for Em, 4 min for Nina. I tell them that they have to stay there for that duration, but also until they have a smile on their face. If they're still cranky/screaming/crying after that time, then the time starts again. Once they're happy, I explain what just happened so they realise and hopefully don't do it again.
Ever since Nina started at preschool 3 months ago she has become a completely different child. She's grown up so much, is much more pleasant and helpful. Before that, I was happy to give her away!!

maz - hope V's cough goes away soon. I hate it when they get awful coughs like that. Emily had one a few weeks ago and vomited during the night as well. Not fun.

Oh, and for those that haven't seen my fb status, Emily is now toilet trained!!!

  16. Babies born~September 2006 #112

    :

You know, I reckon it is facebook too Rach. It sort of distracts from everything. I am wondering if I need to stay away a bit, just very slight rebellion. it's replaced my email, text messages, address book...I don't want to be too dependent on it!

Have fun at Agnes Rach! Do you get internet there?

You're right Maz, we used to be one of the busiest groups I remember! Crazy that they're four...kinder next month. Technically. It's more like two, but STILL!

I'm losing count of how many 'essential errands' River has been on since bedtime tonight. He came out for a kiss, and then to say Happy Birthday to Opa, and then to get a toy, and most recently he's been to the loo...I've started with the threats, so hopefully he stays in there now!

ETA: Ahh Christmas parties. Have fun Lilima.

Rach- That sounds good, no distractions then can spend all the tme together as family. Kindy will be great for them, I reakon they will love it, Ash this year has been doing one day at CC but next year going to council run kindy so they do 4 days, 3hrs day, nicely breaks up the days and weeks.

Nelle- River sounds like Ash, now before bed we put water out for her, we put stuff on her lips (cause she always gets up saying they're sore), we give her a teddy to cuddle, cover all the things first, tho she does do the "I just wanted to tell you I love you".

We all getting prepared for xmas? I haven't bought much for the girls, Just costume each, book each and toy story 123. We also bought stuff for Ash's room cause we've painted and doing it up. Now MIL wants me to buy them gifts from her and we do the same with BIL just buy for our own kids and say its from each other. I have no idea what to get. I do not want anymore crap in my house!
