He he on the eyenbrow discussion.... if you've never done it Arte you prob dont need to...
Me - i have pretty good brows but i do treat em bc i like the look straight after. anyone tried threading?? i swear it is even better than waxing - gotta find someone who does it here in Melb. I dont pluck in b/n - i am lazy and i dont think my bropws need it. pre kids - every 6 weeks. now - every 3 months!! LOL. MD hopw did your first time go??
G - lol at the mil. glad you were able to enjoy it!
Sherie - is it a bit of a work out umpiring? I used to play pretty competitive hockey - thought i may give umpiring a go at some pt.
J's first tooth came thru this week after WEEKS of the worst teething i have seen. soooo cute! its partner is close to through too.
N did one we on the potty but nop other siuccesses there. i am thinking he is a cluey litle guy so i willl leave it to him to tell me when he is ready. I found out the kindergarten/school he will start at next yr has long day care too for the ELC - a big relief i had no0 idea what i wojuld do after schol. it i snear work so i figured drop offs would be workable.
ok better go. hopefully back soon to tell you more and catch up.

Hey MP! I'm happy that J finally has a tooth through so the poor little fella gets some relief and the next one isn't as bad. That is great news about the childcare attached to the ELC. Would make your life so much easier!

The umpiring is easy. The girls only play to Netta rules, which are a slightly modified version of the proper rules, things like uncontested shots at goal and we don't make them stand out of play if they are too close etc. And they aren't fast moving games either which makes it easy to keep up.

G and C - billy lids is great for me.. its about 5 mins from my house!!!! The only prob is I can only really catch up on a weekend... (or a monday but i dont have N then...). would a saturday work for you?
when it is warmer we can meet at my place (since it is prob easy for G) - a run around the backyard for all our crazies and some nice arvo9 tea for us sounds good to me!
Sherei - do you thik the next teeth wont be as bad? N never suffered this much with his, it has been awful! he is still waking v v often in the night - feedinga ty least4 times... i think G and Arte had this with L and W - when did it last til? i am suiffering, esp with work which is great but full on. we have aborted everything the nurse told me. i think we have to get back into it but i am too shattered to go there... that said i got a 1.5 hr nap yest when he had a long sleep and last night aside from 3 hrs of settling from 11, we slept.. so feeling alot better. when i read that it scares me that i think it's good. i need a sense check too - i know she is wronhg but interrested in your views... MIL thinks J gets sick a lot (i think normal esp as it is cvold and he is in cc) - and thinks i should put him on multivitamins.. i think this is crazyt at 10 months.. and he is still BF and will get what he needs from there. he is also havoing a lot more solids now when he is well... anyway i dont think this is the way to go at his age so i am sayoing so. DH agrees but i thik he wonders what to do and doesnt want to push it with me... that coupled with him being smaller i think has DH a bit worried... am i wrong (be honest)
MD - how was the zoo? y mum took N to to zoo a few weeks back, he loved it!
we are going to mums this afternoon for an early dinner... she lives in a shopping mecca so think i might try to pop over earlier and leave J with her and do a little shop... and DHwill bring N on the tram! then roast lamb. ummm - perfect!!!
I just made up a recipe based on Isadora's zucchini and carrot bake - yummmooooooo! i couldnt remeber her recipe so i made this one up!
N is really into any wraps at the momebt.. so we are making all sprts of combinations with tortilas, lavosh etc. and yest for bfast i made crepes and we did wraps out of them - what a hit! J ate some (with full eg) and has had other thingsd with egg in it - so i am thinking he is ok with eggs? this slice has more eggs in it (5 in total) so i might try him on that and see how we go! will be graert if he can do egg, scrambled egg is a lifesaver after work for N ( i add vegies etc) so will be great if J can have them too.

I agree on it being crazy to give him multivitamins at that age. But I do think that if you think your DH is a bit worried about him then it wont hurt to see a GP or MCHN just to alleviate his worry. Sometimes even when you *know* that everything is fine and that the few sniffles etc can be easily explained by weather and being around other kids with sniffles that just having that feeling validated by someone else can make all the difference. Plus having an 'authority' person say he's fine might get MIL to back off a little ;) The second tooth could be easier. I remember when L was teething he didn't get his first tooth till this age too and we had one weekend of solid crying and unsettled-ness and two teeth popped through at the end of it, but the next two that came were easier on him. Maybe you could get him an amber teething necklace and see if that helps at all?

yep i think i will go tp the nurse. the gp sees him whenever he is unwell and has never said anhything but cant hurt to get it sorted in our minds...

Amber teething necklace fab idea (and after seeing G's pics i think they are a fashiopn statement) - i am hoping the next teeth are better.

MP, I wouldn't think multivits are necessary for a 10 month old. Actually I don't think they are very worthwhile at all - I give W some sometimes and I notice that they come chewed but recognisable out the other end (sorry TMI lol). I don't want to say how long it took for W to stop the very frequent waking because it will depress you, but Miss A sounds pretty similar to J at night. She is in our bed by 11-12pm then wakes another 3-4 times during the night and is prone to a 3am party where she just wriggles around the bed kicking and pulling hair for a couple of hours. Grrrr. She started so well....
Poor J with his teeth! A is 8 months now and still no sign of any. As for the constant colds, I do remember N had a bad run when he was first in CC too. I think if you get unlucky and catch one at the start of cold season then you keep getting hit by them all winter. I know last year W had a snot nose for about 3 months, as soon as one cleared up the next would start.
And...I think N will sort out TT in his own time. Like you said, he is a smart cookie. W hasn't had a nappy on since the very first time he used the potty, it took him about 3 weeks before accidents were unlikely. I think he has had 2-3 accidents in the past month which is pretty good considering we were travelling/on holiday for some of that - it was like a public toilet tour of Southland lol.

DH took W for his first duck shooting adventure today. DH is thrilled that W is interested at such a young age.

mp- L didn't sleep through the night until he was 14 months old- i don't know if there's any correlation, but the first time he slept through was about 1 week after he weaned. J still wakes quite often. some nights are better than others. i think i'm just used to it now, but i would not cope at all if i had to work.

so when and where are we having this melb meet-up? i'll come on a saturday, doesn't bother me

i could probably do a saturday. mornings are better for me...Dh usually needs the car from 1pm onwards :wall: for soccer....

mornings are best for me too as J usually has a sleep at 12pm and L at about 2pm. so excited :)

G - N didnt sleep through the night til about 21 months so i can handle that!! i do wonder if it would stop if i weaned... but not ready fpr that yet... want him to do it himself!

MD - don't worry, your eyebrows did not jump out at me when we met! glad the zoo was a hit, we're going to hit ours this weekend if the weather is nice.

MP - certainly wouldn't hurt to go to the nurse and get a second opinion.

Ginger - we went out on Saturday night (if you can call it that when you're home at 8:30 to put little ones to bed) and I had a mini bottle of champagne and felt that the next morning! Did you tel MIL to get a life???

As for sleeping through the night, both Fri and Sun nights DD was a bit funny. Just lying in her bed crying softly, but not telling us what was wrong. She had a bad nappy rash on Friday so I put some of it down to that, but it's all cleared up now so not sure what is going on. We still have fairly regular wakeups, usually solved with a quick cuddle and back into bed, but it sure would be nice to have her go all night.... Oh well

TT - still working on it here. During quiet time yesterday she decided to put her undies on and we had a very sucessful afternoon (including a poo!) but she wasn't interested in trying for school today. DH took her out yesterday afternoon - she was dressed in Tshirt, pj pants, ballerina skirt and ugg boots. The lady at the milk bar gave her an extra milkshake because she was so cute!

Me! I can do the 22nd...how about you all hop on a plane and I'll meet you at Adel airport :lol:...well nice thought anyway. Cass I haven't forgotten you still owe me a visit!!!

Well exciting day here today (not)...finally got my rotten tooth socket sorted out...after 3 days of a nauseating stench of putrefaction...emanating from my MOUTH :o, got back in to surgeon who put some of the stuff in that tastes like cloves LOL so now my mouth tastes kinda like apple pie. BUT the silver lining was I had to drive over the other side of town to see him so I soaked up some gorgeous sunshine at the beach for an hour or so. Nice.

Zoo was awesome, although I think Miss E got confused about the pandas cos they were in seperate enclosures...she insisted there was only one there. Picked up a nice Funi and Wangwang story book as a momento and snacked on some Haighs panda chocolate (oh that reminds me still got a chunk in me handbag). Glad the panda-citement is over and done with now, tbh.

Trill, how is the study going? Still frantic or easing off?
Cally maybe she had a bad dream but couldn't tell you about it?

Well toilet training sooooo isn't coming along at all here...luckily I found a cheap source of no-name brand pull ups cos the constant undie washing was driving me mad...she does use the toilet but we're pretty much getting accidents every day and won't use the toilet for number 2s at all...we had a couple of poosplosions that scarred me for life. Still wishing I'd followed my gut and not started when we did *sigh* let that be a lesson to everyone!

Well I'll be a single mumma again next week, not looking forward to it, had a disaster yesterday morning just trying to get out of the house - you know when something goes wrong and then the whole system is outta whack and then you have a poosplosion and then the phone rings and before you know it another hour has gone and you're still not out the door. Had a bit of a breakdown on teh weekend...know I have to go back to work but sooooo don't feel like I'm gonna hold it all together, which is ridiculous when you think about how I used to do it all with DH away with my eyes closed really...speaking of which aaaah I am NOT impressed about him going away again. Someone give me a slap and tell me to harden up, please.

Awww MD :hug: You shouldn't have to harden up. It sucks when you have to do it all on your own. I know the stuff you are talking about that they put in your mouth. We used it for when people got a dry socket after an extraction. It does smell nice doesn't it? But I am glad you got that sorted out so hopefully no more trouble. Study is going well - on the home stretch now to the end of semester 1. I only have 3 assignments and 1 quiz to do and 2 of the assignments have been long term ones so they are nearly done so its all good. I hear you on the TT. Sometimes it would be so wonderful to have him out of them, but so not worth the effort if they aren't ready. I have been there, done that with Lindsay and I don't care if it takes him till nearly 3 to do it because I know he wont be wearing nappies at his 21st LOL. But that said, I realised yesterday it is only 4 MONTHS until they are all 3!!!!! I can't say anymore that he's only 2.5 because hes closer to 3 now LOL.

Had a day out in Wagga yesterday and OMG he was so funny. You know how they eyeball other kids around the same age as they are? Well we were in woolies and there was a boy with his Pop and he was sooking a bit becuase I think he wanted to get out of the trolley and Alister looks him up and down, the boy looks alister up and down and then Alister points at him and said 'you sooky la-la boy' ROFL! I'm glad we were out of ear shot enough that the man couldn't hear him. And then when we were heading to medicare, which was a reasonable distance from where we parked the car and halfway there he stopped and climbed on a bench and sat down and told me he needed a rest because his legs were tired. The stuff he comes out with is just hilarious and watching the banter between him and the older kids is amazing.

C and G - yes this sat is good - 9.30am??? DH will be at home with J having his morning sleep (J not DH) but may pop in after with J too...
Cant wait!!!

MD cloves and clove oil is great for sore teeth. My Indian grandma always used it, and i use it for the boys. (not that it helped recently with J)

ps MD I am single mum too next week - we can complain together (and plot re requests for gifts when they get back)

ewwww on your DH being away. and no, i aint gunna tell ya to harden up. loved ones going away is so not nice and definitely requires a good sook and cuddles. how long will it be for this time?

the trip to rad-e-laide is up in the air ATM. we are waiting on tax returns etc to see where we are at for holiday spending spree. no doubt it will be a 3 star motel down the road :ROFL: DH is convinced we can still do it and go, but i am less certain. call me negative nancy, or as my mum would say cautious clare.

MP and G: 9.30am sounds good. i might still be in pjs but hey, gotta do what ya gotta do LOL!
