Well I've just about used up another whole frikken day trawling through the paperwork, on the phone to centrelink, doing all the sums (cos it takes me twice as long as it used to LOL). I interrogated my pay section for a down to the cents amount for how much I will earn the whole year, and it turns out I over estimated a bit. I also crunched the numbers and the amt of CCR in the final qtr will more than cover any "overpayment" so I had Ctrlink remove the automatic adjustment. It's an insanely complicated system, it has changed to try to prevent ppl from having overpayments but there are all these tiers plus there are 2 different ways to calculate it (???) So anyway, the final figure will come down a bit, not a huge amount, but jayz I'd rather it in my pocket every fortnight than in theirs!
I was hoping to have a pleasant day relaxing and chillin out since I'm having surg tomorrow. Not that it matters, I'll be in a pleasant drug-addled haze by this time tomorrow LOL. Nothing big but I am having my port taken out :cheer:!
Cass, wtg on the house value! and Yay for Sir Walter. We've got the Knights of the Round-Up Table here (ie dandelions, bindy-eyes, etc LOL). DH has done feed&weed twice but timed it wrong and the rain washed it all way. Looking like BFC will need a crew-cut for the *****les again this summer.
Re tramps - we got an Action 8 ft - not springless but round - from sportsman's warehouse or Big W (can't remember which) for well under $200 with a net. The mats pretty much cover the springs and the tension is even all the way round.
JM that's weird about the juice etc...that was one thing I really loved when pregnant (when everyhing else tasted funny). I suspected the malaria advice might turn into a bit of a minefield for you. ETA - missed your earlier post. Glad tricksy Gran is ok. Also your bro, soo hope they can get some long term explanations for him.
While we're all asking about family members, Arte, how is your BIL going now?
-
JM, could you eat sweet with the girls? I projectile vomited fizz when I was early pregnant with W and didn't drink it again until after he was born (good times...). I say it is a boy!
OMG how much is child-care over there? $100 per day!! The fee's for the daycare W plays at are about $4.50 per hour, and 3 and 4 year olds get 20 free hours per week. And I wonder how parents here afford daycare!
MD, not sure how BIL is. I found the best/only sleep specialist in the country that deals with his sleep disorder (at his request) but he wouldn't answer the phone so I sent him a text with the info. I have no idea if he is going to give it a try. It is seriously frustrating when people won't help themselves. Good luck for tomorrow!
Clare, the next-doors sound like us. A is currently awake for 13-14 hours during the day with a 20-40 minute nap and then wakes about 4-6 times overnight. She is a box of happy birds. I am tired.
W is on the cusp of sleeping through, he usually wakes once a night but sleeps the whole night once or twice a week now. He is DH's job at night, because I am just too stuffed to do everything. I am hoping that the extra exertion of kindy will push him over the edge and get him sleeping properly.
And Yay for M doing 8 hours! Awesome!
I am still BF, but luckily A doesn't seem to care if I have caffeine. W is like me and a sip of Coke when I was BF him would be a disaster.
-
JM: i loved sweet things with both my girls....so i vote BOY!
Arte: yep, that sounds about right like the neighbours...although with W almost sleeping through i think you are doing better in the sleep stakes lol! their eldest is still up multiple times...
i can't believe that A can manage that amount of awake time...gosh, even i cant do that  the girls got stamina!
MD: hmmm i need to check out Big W...i like the sound of that price!
JM: yeah the inspiration for the springfree came from you...and then an ad on TV came up like 10 mins later. they look awesome...
AFM: the grass looks AMAHZINGGGG ladies! love love loving it!!
-
Cass, yay for new grass!
MD, I have no idea what a port is but there is a dancing figure in your post so I assume getting it out is a good thing. Hope it all went well for you.
-
thanks for asking after me Arte - I am well... life is just so busy at the moment i dont seem to get time to comeon and do a proper post EVER so i end up not posting... then i feel like a stalker as i do come on to see how everyone is. miss you guys?
Patoots - qwhat is your business> is it learning ladder???
MD - what's a port? i am guessing you will do ok without one!
Arte - wtg on w doing well at kindy. i reckon it is the leaving part they get upset about, so you could prob go for a bit lponger... given he is ok there he prob woujld then get into some activities and enjoy himself. love the haka dancing and anthem singing - justy adorable.
have i said huge congrats to JM. i am voting boy!
Clare - we bought a VULY tramp - it is awesome... nor springless but covered and w a net.. i think it was about $600 all up (its a 10 foot one) but it gets v good saftely ratings etc. both boys use it every single day... best thing we have bought.
cally sounds like good news for your day. thats so great.
hi to everyone else...
melb girls - i am up for a meet up...a sun morning would be great... phoenix park i think is gated? and maybe somewhere in the middle. or anderson park in camberwell? i am thinking around that area as i think hawthorn worked? union st park in armadale is also great (and has cafe attached)

-
MD: i hope the op went well today  and i'm with the others...port? what the? excuse the ignorance! i am thinking USB kinda territory here lol...gawd i am so hopeless lol!
MP: i can do a hawthorn side of things. camberwell is also good (that is where the BB centre used to be right?!).
-
Hope today went well MD. You say you're having surgery like it's brushing your teeth these days! :o
I think you guys might be onto something, i had no aversion to sweet things with the girls, but i can taste the sugar in everything. Who knows!
MP- i am a bit like that sometimes but i think posting occasionally, even if you're not up to speed is better than never.
-
-
LOL Ange.
MD, I hope it all went smoothly today and that you are resting up and letting everyone wait on you
-
i am another who pops in to see how everyone is but doesn't get much time to post. It takes me forever just to catch up lol.
MD I hope it all went well today! Is a port like a drain?
JM I am sticking with team blue!
I wish we could all do a big meet up somewhere.
-
The boy theory agrees with the dream I had ladies. JM's getting a blue one!
All good today. Not quite like brushing my teeth but yeah I'm a bit of an old hand these days. Port = infusaport, it's this round thing I had in my chest that they plugged a special needle in to give me chemo (saves your veins). It was my little friend and I'm kinda sad to see it go (....NOT)! They fixed a scar for me too, which involved taking quite a big chunk out of my side so a bit sore now.
Still a bit drug-addled, just popped on to ask if anyone knows what a coin charlie is? Something at DD's school tomorrow.
-
Glad to hear that things went well and you're feeling OK  I hope your side is feeling better by tomorrow. I have no idea what a coin charlie is? You'll have to tell us when you find out.
-
hello my lovelies!
MD: happy to hear that the surgery went well and that they have provided you with some good pain relief lol! i think a *bit* sore is an understatement lol! no brave face...ask for chocolate.
coin charlie sounds like a 'nice' way to say...bring your $$ (in an 'emu parade' kinda way)...but i could be wrong.
JM: well, remember 'sugar and spice and all things nice...' and well, if you start wanting to eat puppy dogs tails you'll know where you're at.
Oz: a big Sept 07 meet-up HAS to be done at some stage i reckon. i believe we have the best baby buddy group going!
hmmm it seems i never have problems posting bahahaha! just goes to show my 'active' life lol. oh i am saaaaad.
AFM: well i am currently typing using my NEW internet provider! it is sooo fast! we got the 'BoB'. loving it. we had some mobile broadband before but it wasnt so good anymore and this new one we also get free local and national calls. it's so cool. although DH is freaked out at the cordless phone that it came with lol! we are so not technological!
-
-
Now MD's asking all the questions! I have no idea what it is.
Thank you everyone for being so happy with me for Dad.
MP - don't need to do a big post, just let us know you are still alive!
Anyone do Kindergym or know much about it? It has just started in town here and I am thinking of taking K. She loves going to DH's school in the holidays and playing on all the gym equipment there.
-
We did Kindergym this year - it was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Good chance for them to test their jumping climbing rolling crawling etc skills in a safe & stimulating environment.
-
i want leila to go to kindergym too. but unfortunately they are all on thursdays...kindy days :wall:
MD: BoB is just an internet modem thingy that has a phone (so basically an internet phone). nothing too exciting really lol!
-
MD, so you had a tube thing poking out of your chest for all this time??!! That is friggin' horrendous!! My goodness you must be glad it is gone. I am so glad I didn't go for a career in medicine, mucho yuck factor!
MP, Patoots' business is the world of beautiful little hair clips. I am hanging out to get some but A is still at the pull it out and chuck it away stage. Good to see you. Don't feel like you need to do a massive post, just a hello is cool
Trill, how is school going? Exams coming up way too quickly. How many papers are you doing this semester?
William stayed at kindy for 2 hours without me today, the longest he has been away from DH or myself. He cried for a couple of minutes and then was fine.
A had her first big injury today - fell over and hit her face on a toy, split her nose by the nostril and had blood pouring everywhere. I can't get it clean without setting it off bleeding again but I don't think it will scar.
