8pm is like midnight to me! I go to bed at 9.30!
LOL Ginger. I would go to bed then too if A wasn't such a night owl. She has been up until at least 11pm four out of the last five nights and it is 9.15pm now and she is showing no signs of going to bed.
Was Cally going on holiday? Everytime she doesn't post for a while I imagine some Lego project gone terribly wrong - a slight miscalculation and then she, her DH and K are trapped in their lounge by three foot thick walls of Lego....

I love brunch, :) but it's no fun with my two toddlers!! could we do a sat breaky/brunch without kids?

Arte - you crack me up!! I am here, safe and not surrounded by Lego. Work was crazy just before Christmas and then we were at my parents place and now we're home just relaxing. I did pop on the other day to check out the end of the last thread though. I have completely read the Millenium trilogy since Christmas and generally feeling pretty good (except the shocking cough that is giving me attacks everytime I go to bed so DH and I have been in different beds the last week). I do feel though that I am keeping up with all of you because of FB though which is good.
Congratulations Arte - I have everything crossed that this one is a sleeper. Hugs about Chim.
Sounds like everyone had a good Chrissy. K was totally spoilt, her presents ended up going over 3 days because of the sheer volume of them. We had bought a lot of little things (mainly books) and MIL just went overboard. Including a dolly stroller - the third one she has given her and we had one anyway!!
We had a quiet NYE - I've never really gotten into it and there isn't much around the 9pm mark here so we were all in bed normal time.
Trill - your new pup look gorgeous. How's DH's dog going with the sore foot?

JM - wow, what a swimmer! K starts a 9 day intensive next week. She's still not back up to where she was at the end of the same thing last summer.

K is having a sleep over tonight at MIL's and DH and I are going out for a nice dinner his sister gave us for Christmas. At the moment she is asleep on the floor next to the bed, folded up in her little doona.
BTW - I got a GHD for Christmas, now I just need to work out what to do with it!
Cally!! Nice to know you are not trapped by lego ROFL. Speaking of which, DS1 and DH have been having a huge lego fest and have gone crazy building vehicles of all descriptions. I'm with you on the GHD. I have a babyliss mini one and I"m still not terribly confident using it. Where are you going for dinner? DH and I haven't had an adult only dinner in years.
And Marvin's foot is fine now. She seems to be over the infection so the penicillin worked thankfully, but she seems to have aged a lot. She sleeps under our bedroom and all night she kept me awake with her snuffling, sneezing, snoring and coughing LOL. And she is generally just slower. She is also officially retired now too - we had shearing the other day and it was the first time since we got her that she never went with DH. He took Jackie though and she was so tired by the time they came home LOL. Like a little baby after a big day out. Marv seems to be coping well with her too - so long as Jackie doesn't annoy her or gets in her face too much she is fine, but she did snap at her yesterday.
Oh and we have finally got A in a big bed! Not the ones we brought, just a spare single one that MIL had because SIL needed the cot for her baby so we've just using another single in the meantime. He's going really well in it. Last night I got up to go to the loo and checked on the kids and both he and L were sleeping in the exact same position - ACROSS the bed LOL.
Cally, good to see you! Glad you had a good Christmas. Does your MIL forget that she has already given K several strollers? Dumb question: Is the GHD some sort of hair thing?
Trill, my dog started the groaning/snoring a few months ago. She also kept having really loud dreams. It was pretty annoying when I was trying to sleep (she was in our room) but I think it was because her hearing was going and she didn't realise how loud she was being. Yay for A shifting into the big bed! I am really surprised that he would stay in a cot at this age!

Being in a cot didn't really phase him. I did wonder if we would have trouble getting him to take to a big bed, but when we told him what we were doing, he just said "Can I keep my pillow?" and once we told him yes, that was that, he was OK with it. I think the poor kid thought we were giving everything in the cot to her as well, but when he realised that the blankets and pillow were staying here he was OK. Plus it wasn't really a cot anymore anyway - we hadn't put the side up on it in probably a year, so it was no different to a bed with a safety rail on it I suppose.
seems to of been a stress free transition Sherie! good boy! it's funny, Leila sleeps straight as in her bed, but marta is a side sleeper. many a night i walk into our room and i see two feet sticking out the side...she already seems to big for her cot lol! not used to bigger babies me thinks lol!
the snapping at the puppy is totally normal. puppies can be annoying :rofl: "playwithmeplaywithmeplaywithme" lol.
Trill and Cally - you girls need to get on you tube and check out how to curl and straighten with ghd.
LOL G, I probably should. It just never looks as straight as what the hairdressers can get it when they straighten it.
Cass, E hardly moves at all during the night but the other 3 are all really restless sleepers and end up all over the bed in a night. It's often I check on them and have L with his head up the other end of the bed.
I'm the newest member of the GHD wannabe club *sigh*.
Arte we had a bit of out-of-control behaviour due to extreme tiredness recently, my money is all that extra trike exercise is pooping W out, fingers crossed it gets better once you're back in the usual routine. We have that hole in the ozone right over SA too...sun seems more bitey here than on the eastern sea board.
JM, yay for the new house meri, hope this one works out well for you. Are you going to come back to Aus for the business end of your pg? That's great about L swimming like that!
MP, good you're planning more leisure time, holidays etc this year...it works cumulatively I reckon.
Cass, I'm a nervous nellie with missy E near water too (scarred by an earlier life event). But she's actually pretty good in the water so I think she would catch on pretty quickly if we started her in swimming lessons around now.

Trill (and Arte) - are you both doing a third (summer) semester or is this just normal for your course? Mine closes down completely between Nov and Feb!
Trill - yay for big bed boy! Has the new bed arrived or not yet? We're thick in a debate about whether to put dd1 in a loft bed. I seem to be the only person in the family who understands it won't create "more space" in her room because the underbed space is currently used for drawers & tubs (storage) so that will all have to go somewhere in order to put a desk or whatever under it :wall:
Here's something funny for you...Missy E has only just learnt (after months of me trying to teach her) that when she wakes up in the morning she can get out of bed by herself (before she would just lie there shouting out until someone opened the door, like she couldn't get out of bed until the door was open LOL).
LOL MD, how did that realisation come to her? I wish mine would have stayed in bed longer - they don't get the concept of just staying in bed because it's warm, or that they don't have to get up just because they are awake. We haven't got the bed yet, hopefully it wont be too much longer. We were going to ring them towards the end of the month to see if it came in early or not though. I get why you don't want a loft too - we looked at them and you don't gain anything at all by having them. Although we did see one that wasn't all that high - probably 4ft, but all the underbed part was drawers and storage already which would be great to get rid of rollerboxes etc.
