Took me 6 days and I had a crap load of fibre and prunes too!! I have only done 3 since birth 13 days ago and even tho it doesn't hurt, I am still scared of it!! Lol
With DD1 (VB induced 3rd degree tearing etc) 6 days :o I was scared
With DD2 (VB no drugs) 3 hours :o :o I thought it was bleeding cramps, so went to toilet, I could not believe it...
I was the same!! Took about 2-3 weeks for me to be normal again, even now, my muscles can ache in that area sometimes...
Coming in late here, but I just had a vague recollection, I think when I was getting stitched up with my first, they gave me a pessary? I was sucking on the gas quite enthusiastically at that point (I laboured with no drugs but when the needles came out it was a different story!) so the memory is hazy but I think that's right.
Vital post-birth toileting accessory are definitely the flushable wipes. Far more comfy and cool and refreshing than dry loo paper, and handy for providing that counter-pressure others have mentioned when doing #2s.
