My post baby belly is ugly. I totally understand! However, a tummy tuck isn't recommended if you are planning on having more children. I have had this discussion with both my GP and a plastic surgeon.
I can understand the depression too. It looks awful. But hopefully when you TTC #2 you'll fill it out quickly.
A tummy tuck is only a dream at the moment and more than likely a dream that will never come true.. I just see all these women who have babies/children and their stomachs are so flat! where as i still look pregnant.. :(
Id really love to TTC #2 but im also hesitant that i will make my body look worse.. but thats something i need to get out of my head too i *SHOULD* be proud of my post baby body but i cant help but feel lousy..
i also have a bit of saggy skin. i put on almost 20 kilos during pregnancy which was massive seeing as i was only 60kg to begin with. i still have 7kg to lose although im not really trying lol. my plan is to chill out about the tummy and stretch marks etc til after iv finished having kids. then sort by body out.which may mean tummy tuck although its not that bad at the moment.
i dont think there is anything wrong with disliking your post baby belly. i mean stretch marks and saggy skin arent exactly attractive. lol. all i need to remind me of my pregnancy is my beautiful baby boy!! :)
Summer I too was worried about how having #2 would make my body worse but I found it really didn't make that much difference - maybe because you're body has already been there once it knows what it's in for IYKWIM?? Also I found that with both my kids it took me over 12 months to get back to my original weight, try not to be too hard on yourself - in my experience we always see ourselves so much worse than we actually are, and I bet you're looking great xx

You know when I was about 1 year post baby, I really just felt awful about my saggy belly and stretch marks, I figured it had beena year and nothing had really improved, but, Its now been 2 and a half years and as long as it has been, it really had improved! sure, its still a bit baggy,but its never gonna be what it was before.
Im just glad that EVENTUALLY it did better. (and yours will too Honey xx)
My belly was fine up until maybe 1-2 months ago its just starting to sag, i think because iv lost some fat in my belly..:
Starrysky - thanks i really hope it does get better. Maybe with a bit of exercise and weight loss it will improve. Just right now it looks so awful.
Popping back in, I totally agree with N2L's statement....
I lost 36kgs after DS, and I still had a slight sag too, nothing shifted it, but still, wearing slim fitting clothes was totally do-able, and yeah it wasn't the prettiest thing to look at - but DH still loves me, if not more lol!! That's all that counts.
If you are planning more kids I'd also veer away from any drastic measures at this time hun..
LMS - I totally understand where you're coming from...I'm 26, and have the saggy skin on my belly of an old lady. :( It really gets me down, and I found that the more weight I lost, the worse the skin looked...but if I put the weight back on, I felt crappy because I was bigger. I have stretchmarks, or bad cellulite, in some way, shape or form, on 90% of my skin from my knees to the top of my boobs - AND i HATE IT. It makes me uncomfortable being naked, or in tight clothes or togs.
Don't get me wrong, I adore my daughter, and am so excited and blessed to be pg again (which actually hasn't made anything worse so far - in fact, if anything, at 19 weeks pg my belly looks better now, because my belly is gently filling out and the sag isn't as noticeable) - I just struggle some days with the fact that the marks to my body are so permanent. I've found it difficult to motivate myself to eat well and exercise, because I figure the skin looks awful anyway - it's not going to look any better. This is NOT a healthy attitude, I know, and I'm seeing someone to work through it, but it's just the way I've been feeling.
If you find a "cure" let me know! ;)
I totally understand! I call mine an apron! I cannot stand to look at it. Even when I am 40 weeks pg I do not fill out all the extra skin! I had twins and then another pg now up to bubba #4 which will be my last. After that (meaning at LEAST two years recovery time) I will be looking into getting it fixed. Call me vain but if it makes you happy it can't be that bad!! I will still have my badge of honor with my DD boobs (pre babies they where A cups!) and not all the stretch marks will be removed (i have them all the way down to my knees after gaining 30+kg with my twins) and my 4 beautiful children will be here to remind me everyday of just how lucky I am. Do what feels right for you so long as your descision are well informed and thought out.
Ok so if my tummy is looking like pre preg skin wise and i only have aboit 5kgs more to lose, will it randomly sag??

LMS i would def wait until you've finished having kids so in the meantime, save the money in a seperate ac for you!! :hug: core work will def help! And look into some vitamins for skin elasticity?

Not necessarily. It just depends how much elasticicity (sp?) your skin has. My mum has like none and hers sagged ALOT so after my brother she got a tummy tuck.
