lol marcellus!!! i was also on the pill at that age :( because they were so bad :(
I now have 4 Happy Heinys pads and I have ordered a Lunette. The pads are helping with the increased pg discharge!!
Well my Lunette arrived today. Would it be safe for me to use for pg discharge? I would just feel more comfy with that than a pad.
woohoo, just found this thread.
Anyone had cups split before? i had a coloured ladycup that split after using it twice - emailed them and they sent out a new one now that one has split too but this was after a solid two cycles - I don't think I am doing anything wrong :-( Following instructions with washing etc
Also anyone know anywhere in Aus that sells ladycup rather than having to go OS each time?
thanks so much.
PS ali - think it would be fine, read somewhere that they are safe to use mid cycle so don't see why pg would be any different
Sarah - Have a chat to Obsi - She mentioned something about it on NC. They had some issues and sold that batch off cheap.
Thanks Ali - just found that thread thanks
Just a quick q ladies... with the nappy hunt there is a 15% off the lunette... and I am tempted... but with what do you wash them? and sorry for my ignorance, do you wash with every change? and again sorry for TMI, but can you really go 12 hrs without a change? any help appreciated... TIA!!!
I have a Diva, so pretty much the same as the lunette. The longest i've gone without changing is 18 hours. This isn't recommended because it is your blood which can cause the TSS, not the cup/tampon itself, but i was in Eastern Europe and on and off trains and the toilets were literally pee and poo streaked holes in the concrete floor, and there was no WAY i was taking it out of an essentially clean vagina and risking it getting any nasties on it. It was full, but fine. I often wore mine for 8-12 hours during the day when i was using it, though i usually took it out at night because i have anatomy which means i get cystitis-like symptoms from lying down with it in for a long time.
I usually only washed mine if i was at home. So if i was at work or out and about i would take it out, dump the blood into the loo and re-insert immediately. If i was home i'd dump it out, rinse it and re-insert it. If you're somewhere where you can't wash it it's fine to just wipe the outside and rim with loo roll and then re-insert (prevents spotting on your pants - if there's blood on the outside of it it can come down and out).

Thanks Hoobley. Exactly the info I was after... using it at work was my reason for the questions... Anyway, I bought it yesterday. Now just need to make up some cloth pads to go with it...
You can thank the stoopid nappy hunt, and outrageous and obsidian extreme icons for sparking my interest...
anyone tired the twinkle lily and outrageous ?? im off to get some today !! i cant wait to buy fluff for myslef rather than DD !!
I have the twinklelily smallsies I think they are called - beautiful bamboo velour topped! Very noice
yea i got some outragoeus ones yesterday , they are pretty good but i think my flo was too heavy and went on to the PUL ( but i was usuing a reg. not the heavy one ) but i am converted .. totally .
no more sweaty bum and leaking and sticky crap in my knickers !!!
Hi
Well, after af finally returned I bought a moon cup and have been using it for the last couple of days.
I'm still getting the knack, but it has actually been a little easier to use than I expected. Getting it out is a bit trickier than putting it in, but so far no spills:lol:
Anyway, I like it. I think next month I'll be adventurous and try it during the heavy days too...no sticky bum overnight - how nice!
well i have finally bit the bullet :D
i purchased a ladycup and i can't wait or it to arrive and i can't wait for my next period (strange huh??)
i'm waiting for AF to come back so I can get into the cup & cloth too!!
still hasn't come back since having DD#2...
It is funny - but I was the same! I would never go back to tampons after my mooncup - the ick factor does go away too and it gets easier to put in and take out each time. I used to take 10 minutes to get it out originally and had a panicked moment when I had visions of myself red faced at the hospital! But now it takes seconds.
I mainly like to take it out in the shower in the evenings, much cleaner that way I find, but will do it in the loo too. And mine does a fully 8-9 hour work day no worries at all.
This is probably TMI but I have found it very interesting seeing just what comes out and how much!
Me too, Ausgirl.;)
Hope af comes soon for you girls
I have a question for more experienced users - I presume you have to empty it during the night ? Well, just based on how much was in there after 4 hours or so on day 2 I worry I might have to empty 4-5 times during the night (i mean on heaviest days)... Maybe cloth pads are a better option - but then I'm back to sticky bum.
I have been using mine for over a year, so hope that qualifies me as experienced. I have never emptied in the night, never had issues with overflow or it being too full. Guess it depends on how long you sleep for, but as I mentioned, I do an 8-9 hour day without ever changing without issue.
