Not sure where this goes? Vaginal burning

hi all, not sure where this goes but because it might be a hormonal thing I thought I would put it in here

For the last 2 months starting at CD 7 I have had intense burning in the vagina/vaginal canal, stops after ovulation and then starts again 7 days before AF. The burning is worse first thing in the morning and eases off after a couple of hours, but I have noticed this cycle that even using a tampon is causing the burning.



. I have been given 2 x antibiotics where one GP said it could be a UTI, 2 x thrush treatment, vaginal antibiotics as I was told it could be bacterial vaginitis and steroid cream in case it's an allergy. I have had swabs, specimens, internals and no one knows what it could be. I have against my better judgement agreed to get the mirena on Friday to stabilise my hormones in case it's hormone related.

Has anyone else ever had this and have any ideas what it can be? It's driving me INSANE!

I have had the same thing! I also had ABs, swabs, creams, dietary change, etc and nothing worked. It just went away after a couple of months. I still get a touch of it every now and then but not as badly as the initial bout.
I never found out what it was and, like you, I assumed it was/is hormonal.

Well I am glad that I am not alone, but sorry to hear it happened to you as well. Was starting to freak myself out thinking it could be ovarian cancer or something horrific. I am hoping this mirena sorts it out. Could I ask how old you are? I am wondering if it's an age related hormone problem. I don't usually get PMS symptoms but the last 2 months it's also been horrific.

I'm old. Im 44 next month.

I am 39, my Aunty and grandmother both went through menopause early (although my mum is 60 and could still naturally give me a baby brother or sister lol) so I am thinking this could be perimenopause. All I know for sure is it's slowly driving me mad!

Maybe not quite connected but I get that kind of pain when aroused. It only started about two months ago. Sounds similar but mine isn't constant.
