Hi Buff Fan, I have to agree with the others, it sounds like a missed m/c. When we had our scan the gestational sack measured 11 weeks 2 days which was how far along I was, while the foetus only measured 6 weeks 2 days and there was no heartbeat. Apparently the sac continues to grow even if there is no live baby in there. So it took 5 weeks before I started to bleed and even then it was just a little bit of spotting. I opted for a D&C as I wanted to try again ASAP. You can't wait until THrusday to see your GP so go and see the ER. At least they should be able to tell you for sure after a simple blood test and then you can start making decisions on where you go from here. I am sorry for your loss, and if you need anyone to talk to about what your going through, everyone here at BB will be only too glad to help you get through this difficult time.
Good Luck

You can certainly go to an Emergency Department, but be prepared for a long wait. Unfortuneatly, because you don't have any pain or bleeding you will be deemed fit to wait, it could be aslong as 6 hours on a really busy day.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. Young or old, it's absolutely aweful and heartbreaking. Shame on the sonographer who treated you like that, I'm sorry I couldn't have been there to slap her silly. I hope you can get seen to before next thursday. Maybe and hopefully you are getting seen to now. I know this musn't mean much at the moment, but all the best for you and your bub. Even if you don't meet each other in the near future, your bubba will always be with you and looking over you. Take care of yourself. xox

Hi ~ sorry to hear about your situation. I agree with the others who are advising you to get another opinion, either through the ER or through another clinic.... that way you'll know for sure. All the best.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I'll keep you in my prayers and send you a cyberhug.
Ultrasounds are very accurate indicators, however. A heartbeat shows up as an actual movement you can see, rather than an object sitting there. However, the tech should have been more straightforward explaining it all to you. As for the lenght of time between demise and bleeding starting, I was 4 weeks with my last one. Make sure you have good medical care before, during, and after. Best of luck.
