I clean twice a day.
I don't clean every time I eat. I would have no enamel left.
I guess I wanted to know how everyone else is with their dental hygiene.
I learnt today from my dentist that I need to CLEAN every time I eat and I need to floss after every meal.
Yes my whole mouth/gums are in a bad way.
I will confess that sometimes I don't floss everyday and I have been guilty of going to bed without cleaning my teeth!!
Also is fluriode in our drinking water in every suburb?
The dr asked where I lived and how long I had lived there.
Thanks!

I have just last week been to dentist and had a very painful clean done, and told to clean 2 times a day and floss at least once a day. I have never been a flosser as I hate the feeling of it but will be now (need to go back in 3 weeks for a gum check and then 1 week later for 2 fillings ? 1 may be a root canal) but need to wait till gums have settled a bit as they were very red and angry after the clean.
Have always brushed 1-2 times a day depening on if I can be bothered before bed!
Once I was at the dentist and the guy before me got a huge lecture on his way out for over brushing his teeth. Apparently he brushed them three times a day after meals and he had stripped away his enamel. I guess everyone has different teeth though.
I brush mine every night and mornings that I remember. I floss very occasionally, only prompted by something stuck between my teeth.
Brush twice day (sometimes 3 if I am going out of an evening)
Floss when I remember
Listerine occasionally.
Depends on where you live if you have fluoride. Check with what ever authority you pay for water use.
I brush at least once a day, usually twice. Flossing happens probably 3 times a week...I have sensitive gums and hate doing it!!
I aim to brush twice a day and floss daily.
I think things can vary a lot depending on how your teeth are spaced and your diet and technique. DH and I are very similar in our brushing/flossing but his always need way more professional cleaning than mine when we go to the dentist
Brush twice a day and floss when I remember which is not often, I also use a fluoride free tooth paste
depends on the day really! at least twice a day, generally first thing in the morning, last at night. if i don't have shower as soon as i get out of bed, i have to clean my teeth after my shower (or i don't feel clean!) - if we're going out later in the day, i'll clean them again then as well. if i have a grotty feel in my mouth, i'll just clean my teeth to get rid of it!
Twice a day for brushing and flossing when i remember.
I've just had two teeth removed and one filling (of 5) done. Because of my.wisdom teeth brushing couldnt clear all the food and i used to brake floss between teeth with how tightly they where packed :/ and too much brushing strippes enamal
I brush & floss once a day (mostly because brushing has never been a part of my morning routine) but I also use special remineralisation chewing gum & toothpaste because my teeth were in terrible condition after having chemo a couple of years ago. It has worked well because they now feel hard and shiny (whereas they used to feel rough and chalky).
You really do need to be brushing daily, if you're too tired at bedtime, try to create another routine time (eg, when you're in the shower). Change your toothbrush frequently, and chat to your dentist about using a calcident product to harden up the enamel on your teeth. Flossing after every meal sounds a bit extreme, every dentist I've seen says flossing is for once a day.
A little bit of effort each day can save you thousands of $$$ (and plenty of pain and misery) down the track.
I brush morning and night. I floss very rarely (maybe once every few months). Every time I go to the dentist they say my teeth are great but I should floss more....
If you live in NSW in any of the towns/cities serviced by "Water Boards" eg Sydney Water, your water will be fluoridated.
I clean twice a day and floss once a day (at night before I go to bed ) and chew extra gum after lunch and snacks.
I was once told by a dentist to only the floss the teeth you want to keep![]()
Thanks for the replies...I seem to be similar to yourselves however I need to FLOSS more!!!Dentist recommends flossing everyday
I may have to have some teeth removed as they have gotten loose.......He seems to think my problem is related to my auto-immune condition as well.
Thanks.
I brush at least once a day, honestly twice is rare... I do mouthwash every time I brush tho. I never floss, in fact pretty sure I never have in my life.
I also haven't be to the dentist in...I honestly can't remember the last time I went, can't even remember where I lived when i last went to the dentist.
When I was 12 I fell off a trampoline and chipped off half my front tooth, it was midnight on nye so no home in finding my lost tooth. I had a temporary false tooth put in which the instructions that I would need it replaced twice more before I'm 18 and then they could put a permanent crown etc on. ....I turn 30 this year and still have that original temporary tooth... I know I have been once after that cause they said its still holding so don't need to change it yet.
This is really bad.... I need someone to physically make me go, because I can't see me going...
It is a hard step to take!! It had been 7 years for me and the only reasons i went was 1 because i had taken the kids and thought hmm should go myself, 2 i felt a gap between gum and tooth (this is the one that may need a root canal fingers crossed doesn't) and I noticed a chip on tooth which actually is a broken temporary filling that I never knew about as never recall being told to go get it replaced!!!!
I seriously would rather 12 pap smears to 1 dentist appt but really we all should go. I had so so so much pain while they cleaned my teeth all the stuff off but they look good and feel better once I got used to funny feeling of no gunk on them as you do not realise how much you do not remove by brushing!
Hugs good luck pup on big girl pants and go get an appt!
Floss daily and brush morning and night. I have bad teeth thanks to both parents and have a mouthful of fillings and have had two root canals and have two crowns.
Since flossing daily I haven't had one filling. It really does help if you have close teeth like me and are prone to decay.
Your gut health is also linked to mouth health so you could read up on that too.
