I dislike the dentist, a lot. And still have my DH come with me most of the time!

But I had 2 wisdom teeth removed in the chair. It wasn't pleasant at the time, but I am glad I didn't have the money at the time for a GA. I don't respond well to them and the recovery would be worse for me than the 15 mins extracting in the chair.

It was noisy (from the inside) and I nearly crushed DH's hand, and had leg cramps from tensing so much due to the stress, but the stressing about it was much more taxing on me, then the actual procedure.

I got it out today. Again another horrible experience. It took the good part of 20 mins to get it out. Horrible! My question is. How long to bite on the gauze? Ive had the original in for a couple hours before I changed it. Have had gauze in for 4 hours. I feel more secure with it in. Wasn't really given a time frame and can't remember from last time.

I just had tooth next to the wisdom tooth removed (had a temp filling 2 years ago that got infected somehow last weekend) and the notes they sent me home with said 1/2 hr approx. (continue If still bleeding) hope that helps

Maybe I should just take it out and see how it goes. I'd hate for it to start bleeding again. How are you feeling?

I can't believe you're eating already. I haven't eaten since breakfast. Too scared to! Might try some apple purée in a while. I've had the gauze out for an hour and no blood yet.

Warm chips - they mushed nicely on the non-sore side. I wasn't trying anything harder to eat.
I am wuss-ing out on brushing teeth tonight. Just hit the ice pack & panadol though - nappy changing doesn't equal nice head above heart thing or having DS2 head butt me while mucking around on me while having a feed.

How's it feeling today? Mine is ok during the day but is keeping me awake at night. Just throbbing and aching. The teeth next to the site are hurting too! The panadol and codeine seems to be taking care of the pain but thought I'd be off the pills by day 3.

Mines fine today - can't believe I've got no pain after a week of it. I think from memory it was about 3 or so days of painkillers with my actual wisdom tooth removal. The ice pack on the outside at the start of my going to sleep helped too.

Oh no 2CM! I hope it starts to feel better soon. That's the reason why I've waited so long to get my last one out - I still remember what it felt like last time! :/
