I’ve started to feel my baby touching my belly from the outside!!
I know I told you a few weeks ago how I felt flutters and movement. Now, I can actually feel her little
body. I can feel where she is and her body parts through my abdominal wall.
All throughout this pregnancy, my uterus has been tilted towards my left side. This doesn’t mean
anything in particular. Tres is right on my left side, or that’s where I feel her most. Then if I
thoroughly feel my uterus is quite central but I feel everything on my left.
When I feel movement I take my hands to my womb and there’s she is on my left side. When I do
this, she responds with more movement. I talk to her a lot, especially when I feel her. I also talk to her
when I’m worried as all my responses will secrete the right hormones into my blood stream. If I’m
upset, or worried, or have an argument that saddens me, or make me angry, she will get these
hormones through the umbilical cord and she will know something isn’t quite right.
Make sure you reassure your baby when this happens. Let your baby know that adrenaline and
cortisol rush are in no way caused by her. That everything is okay between you two but things can
happen to mum outside of the pregnancy that may upset her and it has nothing to do with baby.
This is especially important when an external event has a big impact in your pregnancy like the loss
of a loved one, a big disappointment, a breakup…
Make sure you talk to your baby often, especially when there is a big mood change in yourself.
Now, whenever she moves and my husband or daughters are near I place their hand on top of Tres
to see if they can feel her too. Before they say anything I can see on their faces the right moment
they feel her.
