I feel so happy after meeting Antonia, the Mayan midwife.
She removed all worries from my head, especially when she told me I was eating very well and Tres was growing beautifully. After suffering covid I only put 1kg from week 12 to week 27. Her words were so reassuring that any fear I had had just gone away.
Increased uterine activity
Tres doesn’t stop moving and when he does, as a reaction, he makes my uterus contract. My uterus is so well exercised that I believe I might have a very quick labor thanks to the little tenant that inhabits it. This is just pure guessing. I don’t really know how long my labor will be.
The first one lasted around 8 hours. The second lasted around 5 hours and in the midwifery field, I’ve always heard that the third is usually the odd one. The one that behaves differently to any expectations.
I don’t have many expectations, to be honest. I’m just enjoying and living my life happily as it comes. We moved to the Caribbean to lead an uncomplicated life and that’s what we’re trying to do.
The Mayan wise woman’s knowledge
Last week, when I met Antonia she told me that Tres was a boy and one of the reasons she gave us was exactly because of how much he moves and how my uterus reacts to him.
Differences between males and females
Desmond Morris is an anthropologist and one of my favorite authors and in his amazing book “Human sexes” he explains the biological differences between men and women and how these present themselves since we’re in our mothers’ wombs.
Women’s verbal skills will be much more developed than men’s and we keep exercising our mouth inside the womb in preparation for the future.
Obviously, this can only be seen with a scan.
Men are much more physical than women and for that reason, they develop their muscles much more so boys move much more inside the uterus, so much to the point of making the uterus contract as a reaction to this.
Third pregnancy
This is my third pregnancy and after having two girls I can really tell there’s something very different with my little uterine tenant. So if Tres is not a boy it’s an extremely active girl!
Either way, I truly don’t mind at all what I have.
It’s so unimportant. Becoming a mother of a new child is enough of a blessing.
A boy? Wonderful! It would be wonderful to mother a boy and two girls.
A girl? I’ve got amazing girls and one more would be an absolute blessing to our family.
Did you notice any differences in your pregnancies with boys and girls? I’d love to know. Please let me know in the comments section.
