When It’s Ok To Feel Proud Of Your Kid For Getting Suspended

When It's Ok To Feel Proud Of Your Kid For Getting Suspended

Most parents would be less than pleased upon receiving the news that their child has been suspended from school. Oh the parental angst and the trouble many kids face for crossing this threshold of discipline and acceptable behaviour! However, sometimes your view of what’s ‘right and wrong’ may differ wildly to those of your child’s teacher.

No parent wants to hear that their child has been cruel or unkind to other pupils, or that they’ve been involved in any kind of fighting or bullying behaviour. But, what if your child was suspended for handing in a pretty amazing piece of homework?

Take a look at this piece of homework that has been doing the rounds on the internet recently after being uploaded by the student’s mother. Far from being angry, disappointed or horrified by her child’s suspension, this mother says she’s never been more proud – and it’s not hard to work out why.

When asked to fill in a homework sheet for her sex education class, the then-aged 14 student gave a few too many sassy replies for her teacher’s liking. Students were given a sheet featuring example excuses a person may give for not using condoms, students were then asked to come up with some replies. This particular student gave some pretty hilarious answers, though her teacher obviously wasn’t too taken with the language.

Language aside, however, she clearly deserved an A for this homework. Far from getting suspended, this 14 year old should have been applauded for paying attention in sex education.

Have you ever felt proud of your kids for getting into trouble?
