Please recommend me a disposable nappy

I've been a Huggies user since my DD was born, so nearly 2 1/2 years, but with two in nappies I'm finding huggies quite dear and I'm also not a huge fan of their new design. I'm so sick of wasting money on trying out brands so I'm asking for recommendations. What nappy do you use, pros and cons?
I wish I wasn't so lazy with washing or I'd consider cloth but disposable it is for the time being.

I'm a Huggies fan...I've not had any trouble with their new design.

Lots of people like Aldi. BabyLove are also worth a go - they are nearly as good as Huggies in terms of absorbency.

If you are in Sydney, Pampers might be worth a look. You can get big jumbo packs delivered to your door and they aim to be competitive with Huggies. They have a sale on at the moment which makes them cheaper on a per unit price compared to Huggies. Just google Pampers nappies.

Unfortunately I am in Queensland and the postage costs cancel out any gain on price (they are based in Sydney). Pampers are awesome, I liked them even better than Huggies. When I was in Melbourne I could get them at my local Coles.

It does kinda depend on your babys shape. Not to the extent of cloth but IMO some disposables fit some babies better than others.
I've also found that pricier nappies fit and absorb better
I have long and lean boys with chubby legs.
In order of preference:

Pampers
Huggies
BabyLove
Woolworths Select

BabyLove are probably the most cost effective of those, esp on sale or in bulk (bigW) but I tend to have to go up a size before the weight range indicates.

we've just started using pampers and i love them!!
another favourite around here is sorbies, not sure how either compair in price to huggies though

I used with my first two a brand called TeddyCare.....not sure where you can get them on the mainland but here some pharmacies and Chemist Warehouse do them too....a HUGE pack for around $10, would last me a week. So with 2 in nappies would cost me $20 a week.

Now when I need to use sposies I just use homebrand....and I've never had a problem, even overnight.

I generally don't like the Babylove ones....they are too......cardboardy, lol.

I use huggies as well, but i only buy them on when on special - So when im not using huggies, i have found that Sorbies (only avail at Coles) are fantastic - just google the name and their website comes up and you can read up on them. Great absorption and they have a night nappy which holds 12hrs of wee. I've also used Pampers (again only at coles here in Melb) and they were great too. I used Aldi when DD was newborn, but she leaked through them, so i havent been game enough to try again

LOL my DH hated the BabyLove ones because they felt so cheap - he was the one who vetoed them! Absorbency wise they are quite good but I was happy to get authorisation to go back to Huggies...

I like the Mamia Aldi ones.. there like $16 and you get around 50.

I think in terms of price, huggies isnt that bad when you buy them on sale (when they are $30 a box or 2 for $66).

Have you tried looking on ebay? esp with newborn you can get really good prices because everyone seems to be selling them.

Nature babycare ones work just as good as huggies but are much better for the environment - break down quicker, don't have any chemical in, made of renewable stuff etc. They are about the same price too. I made the switch when DD was 6 months old and they were fab. Went to cloth at 8 months but when i have to use sposies i always use the nbc ones.

Since DS was born have used:

Huggies
Pampers
safeway select (x6 only gave nappy rash)
sorbies
baby love (x3 only leaked)
I am about to try Kirkland which is costco's own brand.

Huggies I have often had to go up a size before wg says but other than that no issues! Love pampers!!

Hated baby love the leaked everytime we tryed them lucky were samples only!

Snugglers from Big W....by far the best for us, the shape just fits DD better than all other brands, i hate babylove and huggies, i got 2 boxes for $50 the other day, i think 90 in a box! NEVER had a leak in snugglers...huggies always had blow outs!

Thanks so much for the replies everyone. I'm going to give Pampers and snugglers a go. I've tried Aldi & Babylove and neither of them worked for my kids. Fingers crossed.
