Ok so, the doctor lifted up her shirt and said straight away "its shingles" but then i told him she had two spots on her shoulder aswell and he had a look and said "ok well its not shingles because it wouldnt spread like that"
So then his conclusion is "its a viral rash" (in others words he has NFI) and told me to watch the rash and to see if she gets a fever etc... soooo i pretty much just have to wait it out.

Did you put your fingers over the rash with some pressure and spread them outwards???

If the skin goes white (back to normal colour) than it is viral but if not then it is something more.

    Hope she is okay.

If its still red when pressure is applied then it is not a viral infection.

That is what they told me when I took DD to Westmead Childrens Hospital with a nasty rash all over her body.

I'd maybe see someone else for a second opinion.

Yeh, RR can you take her to see someone else (or the hospital if desperate) ??? ... You'd think he would have prescribed even some ointment or something for relief ... No suggestions from a Doc for relief for such a little person just breaks my heart

... only reason i suggest that as i have had not one but two GP's misdiagnose DD with something only this year

Give a little gentle cuddle & kiss for Bella from me matie xOx

RR are you on MSN atm? I have a photo of my nephews spots which look exactly like your DD's spots if you'd like to see it.

... so understand ... and yeh also hospitals are the worst place to wait with a bubba her age (or even my DD's age as a matter of fact) !!

Did the GP mention what to bath her in ?? ... Like JUST water & nothing else (but then maybe you bath her in just water anyway, i did for sometime when i found out DD gets slight eczema) ??

Otherwise i'd go to a different dr too....

    Hi RR,

Is it something like a spider bite ?
They apparently dont hurt when being bitten - do they seem itchy ?

My son has been bitten by a spider a couple of times and they ended up weeping - like a blister...

    Just a thought

    xoxo

ETA - now i have looked at the photos again - my DS's spider bites were a big swollen hot red area - like one big swelling - not smaller spots. So i am not sure - just trying to give you some ideas. I would try another GP if you can - rashes are awful things. Good luck !!

Another thought- regardless of what it is, if it is so painful she wont lie on her back then they should be able to recommend something to help. The poor little thing.

Poor baby. I hope you get a straight answer today!
Maybe take her to the ED if you can't find a gp on short notice

i'm still thinking shingles, as they can still have a few away from the main cluster. and follow dermatones, and to be honest every person is different. If it is shingles it is very painful! I think take her to ED especially since GP was no help! if it is shingles make sure no one comes into contact with fluid from the blisters as they can catch chickenpox from them. Poor little bubba! I hope she is feeling better soon! and they work out what it is.

If she can't lie on her back and it is weeping I would be taking her back to another Dr or to the ER, as she obviously in discomfort and/or pain. It sounds more like a bite to me.
