we briefly looked into both internal & overseas

we're out of the running for both as we're:

    too old
    DH has children already
list has closed in Qld for internal & they're not saying when it will open again

    good luck with it

We just went through the long process of local adoption here in QLD.We are now waiting for word on wether we are suitable to be adoptive parents..it is a very anxious wait and could be a month ot more before we know.
If there is anything you want to know, just ask away.we are pro's at it now...
The adoption is open again too,for 2 years i believe.

We filled out numerous paperwork and had 5 interviews with a case worker, which was nerve racking but we got through it in the end.
One of the hardest things you have to do is a family profile. You and hubby do one each.My DH struggled with his.
Though there are very few local adoptions in QLD so the chances of us being placed with a child is very very thin(that is of course if we get approval)we couldn't afford OS.we spent the money on IVF.
anything else you want to know just ask.

    Hi Linda,
Yes we briefly thought about fostering but we could not do it.we would find it way too difficult to hand them back at the end.it just isn't for us.

Best of luck with IVF and let me know how you go.

Linda, I haven't looked into it myself but I do believe some of the rules/laws have or are changing soon if they haven't already?? I was adopted in Qld but it was many years ago now. My brother and I were fostered then adopted by the foster parents. I'm not sure if you can kinda ask to foster possible adoption kids? Good luck with this.

Hi, we have just submitted our expression of interest for both the local and intercountry programs in Qld. But we are hoping to go through the local adoption program. Would love to chat with you about your experiences. I know a couple of people who have adopted through the intercountry but haven't heard of anyone going through the local program.
