Question cert 3 in childrens services Q's

I start this course on the 21st and am wanting to know how people found it that have done it/or are doing it? My plan is to do this course then next year do the uni course a bachelor of social work and major in child protection.

My Questions are, is it worth doing the diploma after?
and this isn't the exact field of work i really really want to do(childcare) but i thought it is going to be good to have this qualification under my belt if i want to be working with kids in the child protection/welfare department in the future,
Did you find it relatively simple to complete?
    Any tips etc?

What do you want to for a job? - the cert is what you need to be an assistant. If you intend to be a group leader in childcare at any point, you will have to do the diploma. The bachelor qualification you are thinking of doing - what do you hope to do from this?
If you want to do something like child protection, and don't intend to work in childcare, you could bypass all of the courses including cert 3 and just start the bachelor as you don't get many credits from tafe courses for uni degrees.

You wouldn't get any credits with the Cert III you would have to do the diploma, and you would want to check with the Uni because they aren't related courses. What about doing Cert IV in Youth Work it is related to child protection and its and area you are interested in.
