Congrats on working out your path... Wish I could work out mine!
Please make sure you're fully aware of what the different degree options will actually allow you to do. The B Psych will, as I understand it, require a master's degree afterwards for you to be able to work as a psychologist. There will also be a lot of statistics subjects and a lot of science-oriented ones. It might actually be that what you want to do is more social work. You can also do straight counselling courses but you need to have a full picture of the employment options you would have.
Also check whether the Bach of social science will actually enable you to become a counsellor.
The last thing I want to do is discourage you - I think you will be an incredible counsellor - I just want you to actually be able to do that after years of hard work at uni.
