I applied to study the bachelor of Early Childhood Education in 2008 and started the course, during this time i had a lot happen in my life. the death of two close family friends, my own pg loss after IVF cycle 9, my DH loss his job and i was asked to work full time to keep the center running where i work until they found a new director. needless to say i left the course during the first semester as i was trying to study full time!
Im in a rut at the moment i want to progress in my career but feel i am going no where, i also want a change! I have been in Early childhood services for 12 years. I dont want to be a kinder teacher and feel this was the main focus of the course.
My options are looking into a nursing degree
Mid degree
social work degree
I would like to get into parent education and there is a short course offered at Swinburne Uni which i have looked into but am waiting for it to be offered in my area.
My big problem is that more than anything i want to be a mum, that is proving to be a costly expense for us at the moment and after going through 14 IVF cycles (stims and frozen) with the medicare changes i feel that i am unable to even consider studying again.
i tend to start lots of things and not finish them and the prospect of studying for four years or even 8 part time if available scares me! I have a diploma in Children's services (10 years ago) and Cert IV in business (3 years ago)
