Is it like tiny little pimples?
Oscar has ezcema on his face and it just looks like heaps of little pimples.
DD has a rash on her face (No where else).
It comes and goes in severity throughout the day.
It started about 4 weeks ago when she got a bacterial infection (after a cold/runny nose/viral thing for about 6-8 weeks prior). She started on Penicillin and then her inner ear inflammation and runny nose stopped after 5 days when i stopped the antibiotics.
I figured when the constant wetness of snot dissapeared so would the rash but it is still there.
It is mostly:
Around the mouth and chin
Then small amounts on her nose and sometimes during the day:
Around her eyes and sometime on her eyelids
It honestly looks worse at different times of the day but has not gone completely.
I dont know what it is?
Could it be from drool or her dummy - although that doesnt explain her eyes.
We havent introduced any new foods and still use sensitive washing powder on everything.
It isnt pustules and doesnt seem to bother her - ie not itching?
Any one had anything similar... should i take her to the dr or do you think it is just a rash that will go away Eventually ....?
thanks girls

Oshani
they are like red bumps... not lik pimples as they have no centre if that makes sense
More like reddened raised areas
It does sound like a rash from her dribbling but as you said it doesn't explain around her eyes. Maybe just keep an eye on it and take her to the Dr if it keeps appearing.
I cant believe this.....soooooo fate!
I was online tonight trying to workout what the rash on my one year old daughters face is when i "googled" ..."rash on eyelids, chin & nose"....then "TA-DA" up came this forum discussion between you & oshani...

Sorry .I just edited your post Pirate,
The comment was the same as yours....and we have NO answers to our daughters condition
Did you find anything out and is the rash still there?
Thanks for the reply Georgeanna,
Its my daughter (17 months). The doctor gave us
cefprozil for a week but did not help much ( also benydril ) . We are now trying a gentle cortizone cream which does seem to be helping a little.
Like previous post by folks, Its a kind of inflamed rash that seems worse at different times in the day. Not Itchy and Around her eyes , nose and her mouth. We were more concerned about the rash ( small red spots ) around her eyes.
Next step is a visit to a dermatologist since the doc really has no definate answer.
Hopefully the next few days will see a big improvement for the little angel.
hi girls!
I didnt do anything the drs suggested . i didnt want to put chemicals on her face.
What i did do was parafen cream to form a barrier from the drool and moisture and it all cleared within a week.
I am glad i didnt listen to the drs who said it was a dairy allery and contact dermatitis and that i needed a specialist and chemical creams etc... the poor little thing!
I followed my gut instinct and i was right. It was a moisture problem!
That's fantastic it's cleared up hun! Goes to show that Mum really does know best!
