i know i have postebut i'm similar things before but now i'm gis getting desperate and thinking tresiliian going to have to be an option.
DD is 9 months old. She has a bedtime routine of dinner at 6, then bath then bed. Shes still waking at 11.30, 2, 3 and 5 wanting food! I have been trying to just give a bottle of water but screams and when i say screams i'm not exagerating.
It's doing my head in and i'm really not coping at all with any of it with such a lack of sleep.
Is there a way to encourage her to sleep longer???? not wake so in a night??? I have no family around to help out so i'm doing it all on my own.
Please help everyone!!! I need to know i'm not a bad mum for not coping with this.
Is your bub bottle or breast fed? As i bottle feed and our now 11month old did go through a similar stage waking every 2-3 hours overnight at 9 mths. I just used to feed him everytime he would wake (and check the nappie etc ) i would shove a bottle in is mouth in bed with him and he would instantly fall asleep. I noticed half the time he didnt drink half the bottle but it worked and he grew out of it! He is 11 mths old and is a big boy and loves his food morning noon and night but still has bottle for bed at 6 30pm another at 12 or 1 am and one at 4am then he wants up and play at 7 30am..... then he is down again for the morning nap at 9-10am for 1-1/2-2 hrs.....
You're definitely not alone! Can you just feed her? At 9 months she is still very young and could well be hungry during the night, as well as wanting some comfort and company.
What's her daytime routine? What does she eat at her meals during the day, and how much? How much milk does she get in the day and at what time? That could be affecting her hunger patterns
you are not alone
what is her day routine like? how many feeds is she having? milk and solid?
i had a similar thing with my ds recently, he was waking and i was having to bf him at least twice a night. my mchn suggested increasing the amount of dairy in his solids throughout the day, so i now add things like ricotta, grated chesse, yoghurt etc to his food, i also give him yoghurt and fruit as a snack in the afternoon and make sure he drinks some water with his meals. i have to tell you it has made a huge differance, the last 2 weeks he has been going down at 7pm has a rollover feed at 10.30pm then sleeping through till 7am!
i'm not sure if its something you might try, but its working for us at the moment... i really think the foods making a differance to his sleeping - or it could just be a phase
hope you get some good sleep tonight.
