    new born bath seats

Im loooking at getting one for a few reasons.

1 we dont have a baby bath and dont plan on getting one as we never used it with baby #2.
2 we plan just to use the big bath but the only issue is our bath is higher off the ground then normal and very deep (which i could see being a safety issue when i have to bath baby on my own as DF works werid hours)

    So what im after is
    What type do you have?
Where did you get it from?
    How much?
To what weight/age limit is there?

I have one of the round ones that suction cap to the bath bottom.
It is good to help then balance and learn to sit but you must watch them at all times!

Otherwise int he early days can you just shower bub or use a laundry tub?

I have a terry sling one on a metal frame. It's soft and washable. Was about $15. I've seen them in Target too.
I bought a flasher one from a baby shop for $20 - it has a cushion for their head. Made by infa.
It's lower in the bath than the plastic ones so uses less water, and mucher more comfy.

Check out the recently released 'Baby Dam' (just google it - an Aussie product by Goldbug). I'm thinking about getting one as our bath is very deep - fantastic for adults but not really practical for bathing kids. I figure I can sit in the dry part of the bath if I dam up one end of the bath. There is some info about it here: Save 18,250 litres of water per year when you bath your baby! - Babynews

We're using our laundry sink in the beginning (it's a good porcelain one and a perfect baby bath) and I have a lay-back baby seat to use if necessary as well. I also plan on getting one of the seats that suction to the bottom of the bath to use when bubs can sit up. Both my nephews have used one and it's been great.

I have a plastic one that supports the whole body.. DD used to to bath time was for lounging, LOL..

Think it cost around $20 but you can get them in most baby stores. We used it till DD was sitting up unsupported. I got it because I had tendinitus brought on by pregnancy and didn't have the strength to hold DD with on hand.

i am in the same situation as you and i just bath DD with me in the bath. I find it the easiest way to go about things and she loves it! Logistics are that i get undressed first then her and then the bath then we gat out i wrap her in a towel and put a bath robe on me and dress her then dress me. It just works best for us

I do have the thing thay Kim and RRaver were talking about but only use it when i'm not getting in the bath with DD.

thanks for the input so far ladies.

Taurean ~ that looks like a fantastic idea.

I thought about the laundry sink but its not easy to get too plus its in the garage so not a great place to be bathing a newborn in the middle of winter. And i just cant even bring myself to consider the kitchen sink.
