    hcg levels is this ok

    Hi everyone,

I have a little question and am finding conflicting info on the web!

I am 6wks 1dy pregnant, Yay! thanks to Clomephene. I am having hcg tests every so many days, due to misscarriages in the past.

I had my first hcg test 14DPO and they were (87), then 17DPO they were (247), then 23DPO they were (1912), which shows they doubling roughly every 48hrs, all good then I had them done yeasterday at 6wks, 28DPO and they were 6246, which shows they are now doubling at 70hours apart, is this normal that they've slowed down, a few people i know say they should be higher and still doubling at a rate of every 24hours, ive found conflciting info on the web saying, 24hrs is the norm in the 1st trimester and then they slow down, but ive also seen that 48hrs-72hrs is ok, im grateful that they are going, up as i didnt get past aa hcg of 2500 previously, i just want it to be ok, and want to feel happy but am just so scared to relax, which i know is what i need to do.

The nurse said I will have a scan at 7 weeks (6days to go) to check for heartbeat! fingers crossed, but 6days seems a million yrs away right now,

Any info would be more than appreciated

    Thanks to all Nik x

as long as they are doubling within 72 hours, everything should be just fine hun. mine were doubling every 60-70 hours up til six weeks - after that, they didn't do BT's anymore as the pattern changes and it's better to rely on scans to check on progress

good luck with your scan. all worked out for us = our little girl arrived 12 days ago so slower rising numbers were no issue for us!

keep in mind darl, if they are rising then obviously bub is growing in there. Dont worry too much on how much they rise etc, any rise is a great rise!

Nicola, those numbers look great! They slow down after 6 weeks, try not to worry. I've had 3 m/c and now have an 11 week old bub, so understand your concerns.
    Best wishes.

    Thank you so so much!

Thank you to all that replied, Ive just logged on and read the last few threads, keeps me positive and smilin, im so unbelievably greatful to you all.

I will defo let u all know what happens at the scan next Tues.

I think i just got so hooked up on the doubling of the levels and the time it takes and was expecting a certain number and when it was less, i went into pannic mode.

    Thanks guys x

I'm sure everything will be perfect! I just re-visited my thread from nearly a year ago, it's very similiar to yours. I also got consumed by the numbers and made myself sick with worry. You'll be fine.

7 Week scan! A little brown spotting ??!!

Hi all, it's Nicola the one who was over consumed with the hcg and its doubling rates.

Well I went for my 7 weeks scan and hooray there was a heartbeat, first time ive ever seen that, i cried in relief! the bub measured 9mm and estimated I was 7 weeks and thats right to my dates. I was so nice see that little heart beat I can still see it now.

I am 7wks 4days now and praying that little one keeps growing and the little heart keeps beating! another 6weeks to get out of the 1st timester i think! My fingers are crossed everyday and praying for all to be ok.

I have been having the occasional brown spotting anyone know if this is anything to be alarmed about ive read a few bits and it seems it can be old blood or just the cervix changing a little confusing but im hoping its all ok.

    Thanks all xx

as a general rule of thumb (and it's very general!) - brown blood is old blood and nothing to really worry about (esp seeing you've seen your bubba's hb!). given it's small amounts, i'd be ok with it

it's a worry if it's fresh blood or accompanied by strong cramping

so glad you got to see your baby on the scan - it's a fantastic feeling isn't it?

    Great news Nicola!

Not sure about the brown blood, but I wouldn't worry too much. Request another scan if you're worried.

Yes tell me about it, it was the most satisfying and wonderful feeling ive ever experienced, it was so amazing thanks.

Thanks for info on the brown spotting, its not really spotting, sounds bit graphic sorry but dont see it in underwear just on tissue so guess its just mild spotting, its happend 3times once at about 5weeks, then one episode 3 days ago and just little bit this morn its stopped now, so im hoping its nothin to worry about theres no pain with it the only pain i have is from the consitpation and trapped wind but been told this is quite normal. i hope so anyway.

    Thanks for message x
