7 Week scan! and mild brown spotting??!!

Hi all, it's Nicola the one who was over consumed with the hcg and its doubling rates.

Well I went for my 7 weeks scan and hooray there was a heartbeat, first time ive ever seen that, i cried in relief! the bub measured 9mm and estimated I was 7 weeks and thats right to my dates. I was so nice see that little heart beat I can still see it now. Thanks for everyones reassurance and support

I am 7wks 4days now and praying that little one keeps growing and the little heart keeps beating! another 6weeks to get out of the 1st timester i think! My fingers are crossed everyday and praying for all to be ok.

I have been having the occasional brown spotting anyone know if this is anything to be alarmed about ive read a few bits and it seems it can be old blood or just the cervix changing a little confusing but im hoping its all ok.

    Thanks all xx

    Congratulations on your healthy heartbeat

Sticky bub vibes sent your way

The brown spotting can be common, if it continues or becomes more you should see a doc just in case.

good luck and enjoy your pregnancy

    Congrats on your pg!!!

If there is a heartbeat that is a VERY good sign! Brown spotting is probably just old blood and I would try not to be too concerned (easier said than done) unless you start having some bright red blood and cramping. But nothing is a bigger indicator that things are going well than a healthy heartbeat which you have.

Try to relax and enjoy being pg (again, easier said than done - I am always a mess in my first trimester). Good luck and lots of sticky vibes for you.

I had that at around the same time as you in both pregnancies. I was told that it was possibly old blood from implantation. As long as you don't have cramping and it's a small amount I wouldn't worry. Congrats on seeing your little ones heartbeat!!! That really is such a thrill :-)

    Hi Nicola
Just to confirm what the others have said brown spotting at this stage of your pregnancy and providing that it is only spotting and stays brown then everything is fine

Nicola, I had brown spotting when I was pg with DS1. He is now 4 so it all worked out. I was also told that brown spotting is fine.

Congratulations on seeing the hb - isn't that just the most amazing feeling!

Don't worry about it! I had a little bleeding after sex with this pregnancy, I must've been about 7 weeks at the time. With my last pregnancy I had brown and red spotting that went on for weeks and still had a normal, healthy bub.
