    Exclamation Showing??

I'm not even 9 weeks yet but my tummy is HUGE! I don't think I've put weight on yet (I exercise have not been able to eat much due to m/s) actually I think I may have lost weight . . . yet I have a big belly!

With my first, my tummy popped straight away, I think I retain a lot of fluid. My digestion has also slowed down a tonne (thanks, progesterone) so I suspect this is why I honestly look like I'm showing! Which sucks because I don't want work to know about this!

Am I the only one who has a big tummy so early?

I was showing at 10 weeks with DD - and ive heard with the second you tend to pop out a bit quicker. May have to invest in a few looses tops to keep it under wraps for a few weeks. Congratulations though

Thanks. I think I was showing with DD around that time as well. What confuses me is that it isn't until 10 weeks that the uterus actually extends above the pelvic bones!

With my first I had a flat tummy till 26 weeks, this time around im a bloated whale at 9 weeks. I guess its just water retention, bowels, and ur tummy muscles

Yep it certainly does happen!! At 5 weeks I had no hope of doing my pants up. Everyone said I was just bloated but it never went down - only got bigger. By 10 weeks I was in maternity clothes!! Did feel a little funny buying that kind of stuff so early but I was so uncomfortable in anything else.
Looking back at photos it's obvious I was pregnant. It does make it hard if you're trying to keep it secret though. Keep wearing loose things - at least you can get away with lots of layers in winter!!

    Hiya
I was around 10-11wks when my tummy truly popped - I am bigger than my friend who is 24wks and I am not even 14wks.

All I am eating is oranges at the moment so its not excess weight - I don't think

    Congrats, Tess.

I've dug my own grave here because I only really own right shirts! I find that lose shirts seem to hang off my frame in funny ways and make me look bigger than I am (since I have big boobs and wide hips) whereas tight things show off my waist. Unfortunately they're showing off my bump as well!

Yeah, when I went to see my family at xmas I wanted to wait to tell them till into the second tri for the usual reasons - but it was so blindingly obvious I didn't stand a chance of hiding it. I was almost at the second anyway so it wasnt so hard, but I had been "feeling" the bump when I lay on my stomach for a few weeks before that.

I know! I think I might be getting somewhere with these daily contractions. Even the small ones are really hurting! Not waking up DH just yet though. Will time them for a while first I think.

That's always good news! When your labour properly starts your cervix will be ready so there'll be less work to do! When I had DD she hadn't even decended properly and my cervix was rock solid shut lol. Do you think you may actually be in labour or are they BH?

Sadly, I cant tell pre-labour from established labour anymore. I just hoping that if nothing else I can get this lot to bite. I thought I lost a bit of plug before but wasnt 100% sure on that either because I had a lot of CM all the way through... then prelabour started and it stopped.. My cervix has been soft and 50% effaced (doc wasnt sure on that and not so sure on dilation because she couldnt reach it properly... welcome to the club honey - I am making jackets) for a little while now, which is probably why the CM stopped. Not really sure again.

Sheesh, you'd think I'd be an old hand at this by now!

    Showing ...not me !!

    Hi all,

I am loving reading your stories, I cannot remember when i showed with my first child, as it was almost 10 years ago but I seem to recall around the 14 -16 weeks. I am a larger person so it sucks for me because I already have the extra padding and it is going to take me a long time to show, I wasn't so big 10 years ago with my first, heck I was 19 !!! But now i would give anything to be slim to watch my baby belly poke out!! It will come soon enough though and besides, I know that I am pregnant, bub reminds me every time I even contemplate eating !! Yay for ALL DAY SICKNES!!! Not!!

    Anyway
    Take Care
    Tash
