    Dribble Rash...

Does anyone have any suggestions for relief of dribble rash?
DD is teething and dribbling constantly and Ive been trying to keep on top of the bib rotation to keep her neck dry but she looks a mess, her chin is all spotty and there is a nasty patch in her neck fat roll that has been there for a day. I put bepanthen on her neck before bed last night but I dont know if this helped at all... would talcum help? I dont like the idea of using it especially not so close to her mouth(or at all really).

Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated!

Hey Peach. I wouldn't use talcum. It make make the rash worse (will form "balls" mixed with the dribble and macerate skin). Bepanthen is good, but you need to keep using it throughout the day as a barrier, not just at night. Clean bubs face with a wet facewasher. dry well and apply bepanthen or Resolve Balm ( it has an antifungal, a soothing agent and also a "waterproof" base. Do this bout 3 times a day and try to wipe the dribble off with a moist facewasher as soon as you notice. HTH.

Oh! We've had great success with Lucas' Pawpaw ointment. I've been applying it every few hours to Aurelia's dribble rash (and little eczema patches), and it's worked fantastically well. Best of all, it's gentle and natural on baby skin. Not to mention cheap!

We are using pawpaw ointment on DD2's dribble rash and it seems to work a treat. I put it on before she goes to bed at night and in the morning it has cleared up significantly.

Thanks for the replies girls, Ive been keeping on top of it with regular bib rotation and bepanthen, but also use the pawpaw on her dry rosy teething cheeks.

Ohh my DS is the same. i use lansoh on it. my MCHN told me it helps heal the skin and is water proof and if they happen to eat some its fine! (DS's dribble rash goes up his cheeks from time to time becuase he sleeps on his side and also has reflux..)
