    Nappy rash :(

When using disposables DD had nappy rash all the time and I would have to put cream on at EVERY change, if I missed one or stopped coz it was looking alright she would just get it again straight away.

So now with using cloth I thought she might not get it as much but she is What else can I do? I have some moogoo on the way, will I have to use it at every change forever????

DS rashed up for about a month once we switched over to cloth, just getting used to the materials of cloth as compared to sposies. She might be the same. The moogoo should clear it up. I only put moogoo on every morning now, and any other time is only if they are rashed up.

Hopefully it clears up quickly for her!

I'm putting moo goo on at every change but it's not helping. She's wearing sposies at night still so I but the zinc and castor oil on then and it's a lot better by morning but then when using cloth during the day it just gets worse as the day progresses.

Perhaps it could be thrush then if it's not disappearing altogether? Is it spotty and very red?

Have you strip washed your mcn's lately? That might do the trick?

Yeah it's spotty. Was pretty much gone this morning, hopefully it doesn't come back today like it did yesterday.
My MCNs are all new, I have only just started using them.

That happens to DD if I don't change her every two hours. Or if she is teething, and her wee is a lot stronger, then I sometimes change even more often to stop the rash.
Though she generally gets more of a sunburn type rash, not spotty.
Oh, and I started using Invisible Glove on her to protect her butt a bit more - it works well. I haven't had an issue with washing it off either, that I can tell (it's plant based)

Hey Heaven. I second the frequent changing advice. MCN can't go as long as sposies. Also, try to give her some nappy free time each day for a while - it might help to dry out her skin naturally.

I think some kids are just more prone to nappy rash tbh. If it makes you feel any better, DS gets a mild rash quite frequently in the folds at the top of his thighs and I've noticed it occurs when he's been in a nappy longer than about 2 hours.

I was also thinking I wasn't changing her often enough, thanks guys. I am changing her prob every 3 hrs b/c usually she has a 3hr feed-play-sleep cycle so I just change her when she wakes. Might have to change her before a sleep too, hmm...

And yeah maybe teething too Ali. Poor chook.

Crystal- this morning it's not spotty anymore, just red too. Will check out that stuff u mentioned.

Kaz- yeah, she gets it in the rolls at the top of her thighs too.

I think I've noticed it's worse with the itti bitti's too. I'm not using them ones today and see if it makes a difference.

Ok, no itti bitti's yesterday and no rash. Nooooooooo.............. I love them!!
Why would they cause a rash?

    Seudecloth inner sweets, maybe.

My kids are fine in itti bitti, but get massive rash in magicalls, also suedecloth. Strange that one affects and the other doesn't, but since selling the magics, no rash.

I wouldn't sell them babe, try liners, or washable liners and see if it stops......

    Strange hey.

When I cut out the magicalls, rash was gone in hours.
But I didn't know much about liners then. I'd give them a try to see if keeping the suedecloth of her little toosh works.

What type of liners should I try? And where do I get them?

I use a chamomile and calandula flower tea solution for bum cleaning - this works fantatically.
both have soothing properties and the calandula has antispectic properties.
Just boil the kettle, make a cup of chamomile tea and do the same with calandular flower (from heath food shop - bit pricey but i have only used one box $7 in a year, so not really considering) then put in a pot (we use an old disposible wipes container) and dilude if you think necessary) and use in place of store bought wipes
MJ very rarely has nappy rash - only when teething or when we camped for over a week and she couldnt have a bath as it was freezing.
I have also heard of adding a drop of lavender oil to water and using this as a wipe solution.
I use cut up chux (and then bung in the wash) for wiping.
For liners i went to spotlight and bought a metre of fleece and chopped it all up- i have chuched away a few but all up it cost be about $10 and she has had liners for the last 16mths.
