hi salad;
I was still feeding DD when i got pregnant this time round, and believe me the morning sickness this time round was exactly like that with DD.. unfortunately!
sorry;
Justine
I have been thinking about this alot, if you are pregnant but still breastfeeding did you get morning sickness, I just wondered whether the hormones present would help prevent morning sickness or if it just does not matter.
Sorry if this sounds silly![]()

lol beans that sucks. I was really hoping that it would be that simple
Just thought I would add for the record I am not pregnant, just wondering thats all.
I had planned to breastfeed for as long as possible but thought it might be extra incentive LOL
I don't think it makes much difference. I was bfing when pg with DS2 and I found that the sickness was more of the day than with DS1, but stopped at 10 weeks instead of 12 weeks. I don't think that was related to bfing though.
One thing though - you can always bf lying down if you are unwell with morning sickness!
i did consider that when we found out about this one too, maybe i wont get sick because of feeding but to no avail...
I suppose you'll never know for sure unless you give it a go![]()
I've been prg twice whilst b'feeding and twice without b'feeding - I have had morning sickness with each prg, none more severe than the others so it hasn't made a difference for me.
I'm pregnant and still breastfeeding DS. I've had morning sickness since about 8 weeks, mostly all day and night nausea. Because DS has his breastfeed in the morning, it's when I feel the worst so I don't think it helps much but I don't think it causes my morning sickness iykwim. I try to have some water or eat breakfast before he wakes up to get something into my stomach before I feed him.
Made absolutely no difference for me at all, in fact I had the worst m/s I've had out of all 3 with Elijah.
I still had MS with DD2 - actually sometimes bfing would make me feel nauseas!
My morning sickness was brief and manageable this time around, when I was pg with DD i was vomiting constantly into the 2nd trimester.
My m/s didn't start this time round until ds weaned himself, but that was at about 8 weeks pregnant so i think it was a coincidence![]()
...i tend to disagree with most of the gals.....when dd#2 was 10 mths i fell pg. I was still b/f (and did thru the 1st tri)...and my m/s was terrible - worst pregnancy for m/s for me. I put it all down to hormones rippling thu my body.....I have been thinking about this alot, if you are pregnant but still breastfeeding did you get morning sickness,
My morning sickness with #2 was different to when pg with #1, it was more severe, but didn't last as long. But it's hard to compare.. for one thing I had a toddler to run around after so couldn't spend all day on the couch feeling sorry for myself, so it was more tiring, which could have made it worse. Plus #2 was a girl, #1 was a boy, so that could have caused different m/s too.
I actually found breastfeeding eased my morning sickness tho. If I was feeling particularly off I'd just feed DS and it would make me feel better.
I think it's different for everyone. Just like some experience really sensitive nipples during pregnancy and find feeding painful, but I never had that at all.
