Steelcraft Strider, Bebe Care Baby Ace or Adiva Sport?
Trying to decide on these three prams.
We live on six acres with rocky/gravelly and some sandy terrain. I definately want a four wheeler. I like all three of these prams, Prefer the Strider in terms of baby comfort but don't really know about the suspension on our terrain, also worried about the width of the wheel base. Baby Ace seems like a lighter, more compact alternative with better suspension and blow up tyres, but not as much comfort (esp the bassinette). Adiva Sport doessn't seem to have the same kind of quality as the other two but I also like the look of it.
Your opinion would be greatly apreciated!
I have an Adiva Sport which I bought in early 2008, so I can comment on that one, but not the others - sorry! So far the pram has served me well and I have had no manufacturing problems with it to date - including no tyre punctures and I walk alot. You have the option of locking the front swivel wheels - this helps alot when going over rough terrain.
2 factors attracted me to the pram;
Firstly, the ability to reverse the seat, whether in bassinatte or stroller mode. I find this is a very useful option, not only for the age of the child, but also taking into account the elements - sun, wind rain etc. With other prams that only allow the child to face one direction, you often find you need to use the sun/rain cover (if you go outdoors walking often). However with a reversable seat, you barely need this as you can just turn the child away from the direction of the sun, wind, rain etc and they still have a full view.
Secondly, the fact that the bassinette unit converts to a regular stroller seat when the bub is older. This means you do not have to purchase an additional bassinette peice for the early months, as is the case with many prams. So the pram is very good value in this respect and provides everything you need for the first few years (for 1 child!).
Downsides:
- Pram does not take a toddler seat (if you plan on having a second relatively soon after), although there are independent attachment options for toddlers that you can purchase down the track.
- Pram is relatively large when folded in boot. We have a station wagon and it takes up almost half of the boot - with the seat unit on top of the chassis.
Whilst it is not the sexiest single pram out there, all in all, I think it is a good pram for the price and flexibility it offers.
Hope this helps.

We've got a much-loved Adiva Sport and it's been fantastic.
I did tons of research (and testing prams out in the shop) and settled on the Adiva Sport because because bub could face me - or the other way - and because it seemed sturdy enough to walk anywhere. Used since March 08, we never had a single problem with it. Occasionally the tyres have needed pumping up. It may be a fraz heavier and a bit more cumbersome to fold up than some other prams, but once you've handled it a few times it's a piece of cake.
DS was in the bassinette for almost 6 months, and once he started sitting up I discovered that the seat was a good height to feed him etc when we're out.
Pram shopping is damn hard (and confusing), but I can thoroughly recommend the Adiva Sport.
I was almost sold on the Strider DLX - thought it was amazing - then I tried to pick it up to put in the car - almost broke my back. So I bought a different pram. But otherwise I would have bought it for sure!
I have the Strider 4 and think it's awesome. Contemplating buying again if we need to for this second one. The wheels are not blow up tyres like the others which means they never get a puncture but they do the job just as well. The suspension is really good. We took the pram to a B&B down south a few months ago and it handled the rocky gravel, bumpy paths just fine. The wheel base is good too. It's not too wide, fits through most supermarket / dept store checkouts and the pram is definitely stable. It folds quite nicely too, the stroller or bassinette part comes off and you fold the frame, it's quite easy once you know which button to press etc.
I can second the Strider 4. We were looking online at the Adiva and got the measurements and realised that it would be a bit too long for our car, so we checked out the strider, which fits perfectly. DH loves that he can remove the wheels to create a little extra space in our boot too.
We didnt bother with the bassinet for it. DS was a winter bub, so we got the foot muff instead. I love how it folds up easily, and have no problems lifting it into the back of our 4wd. Laranna is right, once you know which button to press and how to fold it is easy as.
It's nice and easy to move around while pushing it as well.
Thankyou so much for your replies Ladies! I have found your info very useful! I would love some feedback on the Baby Ace as I heard that this one is a copy of the Bugaboo Chameleon, just half the price. I can't seem to find many reviews on it though so maybe it is new.
