DD2 has just got her first 2 bottom teeth - the first at 4m 2d and the second at 4m 1w. Is this really early? Everyone seems to be shocked and disbelieving when I tell them.
Also if your child got their first teeth really early did it mean that all of the rest of their teeth came early too?
I've got a friend who was born with 2 teeth, so its not too early, lol.
Average age is 6 months, but everyone is different.
DS got his first around 7 months, got 6 over the next 2 or so months & thats it. Hasn't had a new tooth in about 8 months.
DD1 got her first at 7 months, had them all including 2yo molars by 13 months.
DD2 got her first at 5.5 months & had all including 2yo molars by 11 months.
A friends DD didn't get her first til 14 months, then they all came in in less than a month.
DD got her first two bottom teeth at about 4.5 months. She's about to break the next two bottom teeth and also her top two teeth as well. You can imagine the mood she's in at the moment lol!
My second DD got her two bottom teeth just before she was 3months old and the rest of her teeth came early too. I think she had 10 at 6months and has had 20 for over a year so yes I do think they all come up early when they start coming early. In our family it seems to be genetic I think early teething as all the kids in my immediate family have teeth by 5ish months. I think the average is 6-7months though so yes it is early.
NO not too early at all!!
my eldest was born with a tooth better known as a 'milk tooth' funnily enough though i didn't 'fall' out as i wqas told...it stayed put
My eldest had 2 teeth by 3.5mths and had all his teeth bar the 2yo molars by 15mths. His 2yo were the longest to come through he only just got them at nearly 3.
My middle child is 18mths and only has 6 fully through (although one is MIA due to an accident) and 2 partially cut. He is JUST getting one 1yo molar now. He'll be teething forever at this rate.
My youngest is 3.5mths and looking to be getting a few teeth in the near future.
Fluff - my DS was born with a tooth too - freaky and same it didn't fall out as we were told, in fact it has gone back into the gum (as wasn't fully out anyway) but I wouldn't be surprised if he is young when he starts teething either.
